This place (hotel and restaurant) does not feel safe or trustworthy. Hygiene standards are very poor, especially in the restaurant: food handling appears careless, kitchen access is uncontrolled, and basic items like soap and paper towels are missing in restrooms. Management is disrespectful, staff seem overworked, and customer requests are largely ignored. Rooms are poorly maintained, security feels inadequate, particularly at night, and there is no visible security staff. The place is also not child-friendly, as even infants are charged a service fee. Overall, the service does not justify the price at all. Strongly consider other options.

Rooms were small the original room they gave us was terrible after complaining and arguing who was at fault they changed our room which was better but still not was described on ******* when we booked the room

BEWARE! This man is operating a dark and deceitful business. The facility is run down and has many safety hazards. Rooms are small, dirty and smell foul. Restaurant is in violation of many health codes and the employees are treated like indentured servants. Aldo pretends to not speak English. He does. Aldo pretends that they have no connection and insists on cash which they do not provide a receipt. He gives the cash to the little man in the back who takes it off site immediately. For sure they are evading reports and taxes in their own country. Once you are checked in prepared to be ignored for the rest of your stay. You are on your own without any services and if you make any inquiry into your reservation agreement the only solution he offers is “if you don’t like it here then you can leave” and he laughs and walks away. No breakfast was provided though we paid for them in advance. No shuttle service and no parking. The best part of Scilla is how often the train comes to take you away from this god forsaken place.
