La Bussola Hotel Restaurant in Capo Vaticano

The hotel is beautiful, nice, clean, with a beautiful area. The staff is helpful and friendly. Their bus service is great! If you want to go to the beach, just write it down and they will bring you there, as well as to the train station! The location is terrible, there are no shops or cafes around (besides the hotel restaurant, there is 1 coop store and 1 pizza cafe).

We stayed at this hotel over 12 years ago,and we had a fantastic time Well run family hotel in beautiful Capo Vaticano,we stayed for 4 days in early September,our room was very clean and spacious with a balcony,we had dinner a la carte in the Fusion restaurant and stayed for the Calabrese Night, it was outstanding,with helpful,guest-focused staff.You do not need to look further .This is the place to stay in Capo Vaticano,Well done Fabrizio &Team

The vacation in La Bussola Hotel worths it on so many levels! First of all, it was our first trip to Italy, we had no experience and actually no idea what is the better option/region/place to stay. Everything we wanted a vacation near the sea, so a good beach was a priority, not far from some city, cleanliness and a good view. And fortunately we’ve chosen the La Bussola so got everything we wanted and even more. Before coming, we were worried that the hotel is not on beach and not in the center of Tropea , but it wasn’t a problem at all, as it is still close to the seaside and it takes just a few minutes to get there by car, or especially with the transfer provided by the hotel, it is very convenient and easy, the bus is modern and the driver is very nice! The room was clean (big appreciation to the ladies in charge of that, they were extremely nice and did everything just perfectly, loved them!), if you pay for the room with sea view you’ll get a very beautiful sunsets every evening. The room has a fridge with few bottles of free water and actually everything you need for a basic stay - towels, soap and shower gel/shampoo, hairdryer and AC. Wi-Fi is very good, which is a rare thing for hotels) The area of the hotel is very nice! It’s well maintained, a lot of greenery, fruits, free access to the pool (which appeared to be also not a very common thing for other hotels) and free parking. The pool is just a piece of free paradise!) Also there is a restaurant with very delicious food, live music and perfect service! As we were concerned about our free time and activities it was very helpful, because you can go and have fun any time at evening , just down the stairs (but if you want some peace it is also not a problem, the sounds from the restaurant isn’t that loud and you can barely hear it from the rooms). The beach isn’t far away, and it’s probably the best beach we’ve been to - the clean water, the sandy beach, the view, everything was on top of expectations. You have to pay for it if you want and umbrella and stuff, but the hotel kindly provides a free umbrella if you don’t want to spend money , so you can go and get a perfect spot on the perfect beach without any problems or extra payment. Tropea city is also 10-20 minutes from the hotel, so it wasn’t a problem , because you get a quiet peaceful spot just a few minutes from the city with historical sites and supermarkets. So the room and its maintenance, the beach service, the restaurant, the outdoors, the location are very good! But on the first place we would like to put the people, that works there- their kindness and willingness to help and to make your vacation as good as it possible - they are ready to advise you, to help , to meet any expectations and are so nice and welcoming that you feel very comfortable and happy being there. My 3rd stay at this hotel since 2017 and it just gets better. Customer service was excellent throughout, breakfast quality had improved, the restaurant area is far more modern and the bar area in the garden fits very well. The pool area is great for both adults and kids. Can highly recommend paying the extra for superior rooms. Much more spacious than a standard room, excellent view of the sea. This hotel in the view of a time served travel agent meets the requirement of a 4 star hotel despite being a 3 star The hotel is cleaned to a high standard. I saw 3 cleaners working on each room. The excursions the hotel can plan are quite varied and interesting including culinary tours, a trip to the volcanic island of stromboli and also use to an area of a beach that I would describe as being one of the best on mainland Italy. The hotel can also arrange transfers to and from Lamezia and Reggio Calabria airport, as well as the local train station if you opt for not taking a car. Enjoy your stay at La Bussola hotel, you will not be disappointed!

The moment you walk into the reception area you have to check you are in the correct place… it’s a hidden gem the up to date decor and more importantly the friendly staff make you feel totally relaxed. The beaches are 2.5-3k’s away and Tropea is a quick 20 min drive down the road.. the staff are quick with smile and are always ready to have chat.. they are part of one big family which is refreshing. The only negative is that if you are trying to lose some kg’s then don’t come here as you can’t stop eating the food, it’s that good.

My stay at Hotel La Bussola was a beautiful experience from the very beginning. Their thoughtfulness shone through as they arranged a shuttle to greet me at the train station, and the driver's kindness set the tone for my visit. The welcome drink was a delightful touch that instantly made me feel at home. Maria, Valentina, and Aurora were incredible hosts; they imparting their knowledge of the local gems and cuisine, making my stay truly memorable. A dinner at the hotel's restaurant is a must. I would definitely be guided by Giuseppe's recommendations. The flavours were nothing short of spectacular. The buffet breakfast was a delightful start to each day, filled with many choices. The entire team at the hotel went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. I was so touched by their warmth and hospitality that there were tears when I had to say goodbye. It was more than beautiful; it was a heartwarming experience that I'll keep forever. Thank you
