Arriving to the hotel, you are no where near the city. You are greeted by streets glittering with broken glass, garbage and used heroin needles. Trips to and from the hotel were taken under caution as the area is very rough.
The hotel rooms are small and in need of some painting. The staff were not helpful, and provided us with the wrong bus information. Not an ideal hotel for an extended stay in “Rome”
We were as a group so we didn't really experience the service. Oh and breakfast, just don't! Waste of money
Myself and my partner booked a 7 night stay in Hotel La Mela...
First of all, the hotel is down a dangerous road littered with garbage, broken glass, heroin needles and rodents!
We felt very unsafe walking to and from the hotel
The Hotel room was extremely bare:
Not one painting on the wall
Walls were filthy with scratches and dirt and in bad need of re-painting
No facilities to make tea/coffee
Nothing at all in the Mini-fridge
No Bath in Bathroom!
No pen or notepad on bedside drawer-
These are the basic things a 4* hotel should have.
The breakfast was appalling
We got food poisoning from the only restaurant near the hotel-there is no restaurant or bar in the hotel ...
We were extremely ill on our first day here from the food poisoning. . .
I rang the reception from our hotel room TWICE asking for them to please help us.
We needed toilet roll and a means of medication but the woman at front desk hung up on me both times.
Also our bed sheets were not even changed once during our stay-there was a hole in our bed sheet the entire week
pillows were wrinkly all week and hard and flat.
On checking out of the hotel that same lady never asked us if we enjoyed our stay and she never even said goodbye or thank you !
She also gave us totally false information about bus times and numbers and prices to the metro station in Anagnina.
