Bed and Breakfast Zoe in Rome

This was, without exaggeration, the worst accommodation experience I’ve ever had.

I booked Bed and Breakfast Zoe for eight nights and left after three because I no longer felt safe. From day one, the owner pressured me to cancel my Booking.com reservation and pay in cash for a “discount.” so that he doesn’t pay tax to state and commission to booking.com. When I refused, the atmosphere became tense and hostile.

On 28 October the situation escalated: the owner’s sister came to the property, aggressively demanded payment, and behaved in a threatening way. I felt unsafe enough that I called the police myself. Under pressure and wanting to get out of the place as quickly as possible, I paid €1,000 by card just to leave.

To make everything worse, the room was outdated, dirty, and poorly maintained. The furnishings were worn, the bathroom was not sanitary, and the entire space felt neglected and unhygienic. Nothing matched the photos or expectations.

I have already reported the incident to Booking.com and my bank.
I strongly advise avoiding this property if you value safety, professionalism, or even basic cleanliness.

Very good location close to the main attractions and easy self check-in (really helpful because we arrived around 11pm). The kitchen is well equipped and some sweets, coffee and tea are available for the guests. However, the cleaning is not their priority, especially the bathroom, the shower in the green room was full of mold. The room was dusty and the towels stained.
Also even if the location is really quiet, you can hear absolute everything from the next room and kitchen/living areas.
