Albergo Sacro Monte Varese in Varese

Drinking in the view from Albergo Sacro Monte's terrace is spectacular. Amazing restaurant service and beautiful presentation. Love the resident Labradoor. Definitely the best location on the mountain... now we want yo come back and stay!

My sister and I had a wonderful experience. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is modest but comfortable with the most amazing view which reflects the essence of the mountain. Mario was great. Ladian gave great menu and wine recommendations. We ventured to other cafes and restaurants but Albergo was most kind. Amazing experience

Awesome location with a great view over Varese and surrounding lakes, very piece full location if you want to relax!
The food in the restaurant is of a very good quality, what tastes even better with a good glass of wine.
The staff is with one word amazing 🙂 always friendly and willing to help you, especially Carmen is funny and always smiling!

Very nice and relaxing atmosphere on top of the Sacro Monte. The feeling you get coming up here is one of great excitement and relaxation. You can have a glass of wine, and all you can here is the wind and the crickets. On a good day from the terrace, you can see all the way to Milan, which is 70km away, and if you turn around, you can see the french alps. What a great place. But they are not happy with just that and provide a great service, professional and dedicated to the customer. Fresh food cooke to order and a great selection of drinks.

The view from the terrace is exceptional. I wouldn’t normally comment on the music and ambience but that was great too. The food and drink was exactly what we needed after a long climb to the top.

Also - you should read about the building with all the antennas coming out of it. There’s a cool story and rich history behind it 👀

I booked this place on a hunch for a night on our way from Germany to France.
I am very sad that I cannot give 5 stars and I consider the 4 stars pretty generous.
I knew the rooms were pretty simple but when making the reservation I figured the views out of the rooms would totally make up for it and make our brief stay extra special. Well, we did not get the rooms with the view though they were not occupied. For me that was a true bummer. Unfortunately, our mini bar contained chicken nuggets from a well known fastfood chain which were full of mold and surely 2 weeks old at least. The staff apologized and I could tell they were really embarrassed.
My partner's son found hair and a big old fly in his sheets when pulling back the blanket and he is major sensitive to such things.
So that was the not so good part. Nonetheless, I could not find it in me to give a negative rating alltogether.
The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The view, though not out of our room, was incredible and overall it's a very unique location. The ride up alone with our brandnew car was an adventure.
