Albergo Stelvio in Villa di Tirano

Very nice room clean, warm and with perfect location for bernina train.

Nice rooms with easy access and friendly personnel. The locations is great when you’re trying to stay close to the train station (eg for Bernina Express at 8 am) - literally just a 1 min walk. There are also many restaurants around. The room had a fridge, a/c and a comfortable bathroom.

Nice clean room right across the street from the Bernina Express. Comfortable bed with microwave a minimal kitchen. WiFi was very slow and spotty. That was the only real issue. The location was the best thing about this place. Very close to food and city’s main square.

This was a highlight for us. We had a double room and a junior sweet for our party. The rooms were very clean, well laid out with all you need. Only a few mins from the train station I recommend checking in online to save the walk to the hotel.

We stayed here after our trip on the Bernina express before heading to Milan.

Value for money hotel for your stay in Tirano. You can catch the Bernina express. Terminus for the train. A 800 m walk from the station.

Personable hosts. Nice little bar and outside seating for having a coffee or drink. Elevator in bldg. Easy walking to either side of town; close to public transport.
After having read other reviews, I'd like to add a few comments. This is a family inn, not a corporate chain. People have claimed that Stelvio is "dated." We found it to be charming and homelike. Personally, I liked the unpretentious decor; it's not unlike many inns throughout Italy and Germany, where the family's personal taste and attention is evident. The building is historic. But it was immaculately kept and clearly well-maintained, and our bathroom was thoroughly modern.
Our room was very clean, and while modest, it was comfortable and included a spacious wardrobe and a small desk/dressing table. Are the room phones from the 90s, as one reviewer wrote? Sure, but so what? Who doesn't travel with a mobile these days?
The owners seem to be on site all day, available to help guests. The breakfast was very extensive and you can get a real espresso at the bar. I'll be staying here my next visit to Tirano.
