The only redeeming feature of this hotel is its central location. Upon arrival, on foot (there are no cars in this area), we found nowhere to leave our luggage! The service was also nonexistent (late and very limited check-in time, and no reception at all). The room was fairly large, but there was no air conditioning or Wi-Fi.

I booked this property without expecting much, but instead... Welcoming, heated room. Bathroom equipped with all the necessary amenities. Kettle with tea bags and sugar. Comfortable bed. Very central and quiet location. Overall, a much-appreciated choice, and I had a great time. If I had to find a flaw, the TV was poorly positioned on the wall and couldn't be rotated, so you couldn't see it from the bed, but it wasn't that bad for my short stay. Oh, and I should mention the delicious breakfast, served in a property right in the square. The buffet breakfast was plentiful. The chocolate muffins were delicious, as were the blood orange juice and cappuccino. The gentleman who welcomed us was friendly, smiling, and very polite and courteous. I definitely recommend staying at this property.

Hotel is at the map pin but register at the specified address. Breakfasts are served at the Piazza, they are impressive and there's meal for all tastes. Clean rooms and free wifi.

Please don't book to stay here:
- The staff are the rudest you will ever find. I was getting married so myself and lots of guests booked rooms here and we all had the same experience
- It is extremely difficult to find where you go to check-in (the hotel is actually spread across many buildings in different locations). I had to ask 4 local shopkeepers to help me find it and then found the owner/ manager in a restaurant
- One of my guests had a cancelled flight so was arriving after the (very small) check-in window. As I was already in town, I went to ask what the options were. I was told 'I have 50 guests and 20 rooms, don't ask me any questions' and then ignored. She made me feel incredibly guilty and said they would move the room to another building. I asked how I would know where the building was, she just said 'down there'. I asked or a map or location, she gave me two numbers which did not work on WhatsApp and would not go through when I tried to call.

Upon arrival I was running a little late and i rang the lady in charge, notifying of my delay.
Later in the evening I was called by the owner of the Piccolo Hotel Olina and abused for being late, “ where are you”, I was literally outside.
When we were at reception the abuse continued, my friend who was with me explained in Italian that I had come a long way. Unfortunately the message fell on deaf ears. I was screamed at, abused and the lady didn’t understand customer service.
I do speak Italian and was able to comprehensively understand what had been said.
I will never return here again, my experience was very negative.
If you are in search of a picturesque, tranquil, accommodating hotel I would suggest La Bussola. Unfortunately for me my regular hotel ( La Bussola) was full and by chance I took this one.
Never ever again!

Lovely little hotel in a lovely town. Reception went above and beyond to help us print out a boarding pass. Terrific view of Lake Orta from the balcony. The only things that weren’t amazing: no air conditioner (and it was 34 degrees!) and no hand soap provided.

Little cozy place in the center of Orta, a couple of minutes from the main square. Exquisite food and very kind staff. Only forty euros for two main courses and two desserts (water, coffee, no wine and a wonderful complimentary starter)
