An impressive and elegant property offering exceptionally spacious accommodations and wonderfully comfortable beds. Although we stayed only one night, it turned out to be the finest room of our three-week journey through Sicily generous in size, beautifully comfortable, with an excellent shower and a truly restful mattress. Breakfast was satisfying, and the team was welcoming and fluent in English. The restaurant served dinner despite the quiet season, with only a handful of guests dining that evening. It’s a convenient place to break up a journey, especially since the surrounding area is rather limited and most attractions were closed for the winter. While the hotel itself exceeded expectations, it sits on the outskirts of town in a fairly simple setting. The only drawback was the absence of a bar, which would have made it perfect for enjoying a pre-dinner drink in total relaxation.

This may have been a nice place some 50 years ago. Now it falls apart: dusty rooms, worn out curtains, creaky furniture out of a 1970 movie or older. Relatively modern elevators seem to have been the only investment in a long time. These take you to a “Spa” but there was no way to access the pool: some attendant rudely turned potential patrons away, demanding a change of clothes merely to look at the pool….. In the lugubrious restaurant crowded with a group of noisy road builders and an other gathering, the food was mediocre - cold rice undercooked for instance - despite the efforts of some nice waiters. I actually felt sorry for the staff: except for the pool guy, they were all nice people, trying to do well but facing a hopeless challenge in this gloomy outfit. Stay away from this place if you can

Would have given this 4 stars if it hadn’t been for part of the service. We tried to get a drink before dinner. The so called bartender irefused to put mixed drinks, wine and beer into glasses, instead he handed out plastic cups. He was rude, refused to communicate and was unfamiliar with payment system. The very nice receptionist was trying to help but he was unsuccessful. In the meantime the manager was sitting in an open office behind him and couldn’t be bothered. Apparently they don’t need the income from a larger group. The dinner service was perfectly orchestrated and the food was good. Nice rooms. Maybe they can change management so it’s better run.

This is a fabulous hotel! The setting is very quiet, and the amenities are excellent. Our room was on the 4th floor, a suite! There is so much room to spread out with a very large bathroom. The pool was a bit cold but very refreshing after a few moments.
