La Sciara Resort Hotel in Stromboli

I have never written a review before but beware. This is an overpriced dump. Very dirty armchair in our room. The manager said he knew and just shrugged. You have to walk to reception to get WiFi! Beware! You have been warned!

They wouldn't let me cancel, not even when a family member was hospitalized. I wasn't at the ranch, but this was a valid reason. Intransigent.

We missed the last ferry to the island, so emailed them at night to let them know. We arrived the next morning at 10:00 but the hotel is sooooo far away, no exaggeration but probably the last hotel on the island, so location no ideal. The front desk tells us they gave our room away but not to worry they will give us a refund for the first night (spoiler alert, it was a lie). We didn't get a room until 15:30 because they were still cleaning. No problem, we didn't show up on time and they made money from another guest, so no harm but nope, they are greedy and want everyone's money. The pool is filthy and never cleaned, so you only sit by the chairs. They either run out of stuff or charge extra for anything that they do have. I get it's an island but no need to rob on the island. The room was supposed to be facing ocean but no real views, so if you don't listen to my warning to pick a different hotel, don't pay extra for a view because it just doesn't exist. I would never stay here and would recommend everyone to stay away. There are better options on the island. If you don't believe me, you will once you get there.
