Asia was amazing, even though we turned up early, she was helpful and got us sorted straight away.

Very friendly welcome with lots of useful information regarding restaurants and trips. The hotel is in a residential area and is very quiet. The bed/pillows were really comfortable and we slept extremely well. We had our dog with us and they accommodated our needs with regards to when they could clean. We had one dinner and one lunch there and each tine the food was simple but cooked well and very tasty. Breakfast had a good choice and the coffee was excellent. We were helped with all the requests we had during our one week stay - thank you!

We spent 5 days at La Sciara to explore Stromboli. The structure is on the quieter side of the island and has been renovated but remains consistent with the charming local architecture. Lovely pool surrounded by a luscious garden, with suspiciously veeery murky water on our first day that got clearer as they days passed. The room we had was just as advertised in the pictures: clean, on the minimalist side with a few decorations and life saving AC. We appreciated the very discreet and smiley cleaning staff that did a great job every day. Unfortunately we couldn't say the same about the restaurant staff...our first dinner on arrival day was a total disaster. With only 4 tables being served, we saw every single table send back food (us included, I've never tasted a drier 26€ tuna steak). The following days only confirmed that the restaurant is poorly managed. I lost count of how many times in the span of 4 breakfasts the very young and visibly bored/annoyed staff brought us the wrong coffee (is an espresso macchiato THAT difficult to remember?), tea, egg order, crêpe, you name it. I've seen enough other guests rolling their eyes at their tables to know it also kept happening to them. I find this to be a pretty big management oversight, given the price tag of this structure and the fact that Sicily can boast an incredibly rich cuisine and fresh ingredients. I can understand that Stromboli is a particularly complicated place to run a hotel but the overall impression was definitely affected by these recurrent shortcomings.
