Rocce Azzurre in Lipari Town

We have been staying at this hotel for years, and it just gets better and better. The location is unbeatable, for the views, and the proximity to town. The rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds. The food is delicious, fresh, local ingredients beautifully cooked. And the view from the dining terrace is worth the trip alone. The staff are welcoming, caring and kind. What's not to love?! Will be back!

Idyllic location overlooking small bay. Quiet, no traffic noise at all. Friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent local wines, some from the island, with superb food, lots of locally caught seafood. I've never eaten coffee flavoured cloud, but it must be something like the chef's tiramisu!!

OMG — this place is absolutely heavenly! Well, technically, it's a little slice of heaven just off the mainland... Our room was breathtaking, with not one but two balconies overlooking the crashing waves. We booked half board (something I’m usually not too keen on), but I was genuinely amazed by the menu — I couldn't wait to go back the next evening! Lipari takes you back in time. Quaint, peaceful, and utterly wonderful. It forces you — in the best possible way — to slow down, unwind, and just let the world drift by. I wholeheartedly recommend a stay at Hotel Rocce Azzurre — at least once in your life. Trust me, you won't forget

What a gorgeous place! Perched right on the water above a popular public beach (volcanic pebbles, not sand) with views for days, the RA is a family hotel offering great service, good food and real charm. The location is perfect - ten minutes walk to the harbour through charming narrow streets, and a little further to the port. There's a boat doc by the hotel with rentals available. The hotel and the Eolian islands in general attract mainly Italians. We heard few British or American voices during our stay, though the hotel staff spoke enough to take care of anything we needed.

Whenever we stay at the Rocce Azzurre, which we have now once and sometimes twice every year for the past fifteen, I come away hoping the God of Winds, Aeolus, will see fit to blow me back there once more, for this is a wonderful family-run hotel, offering delicious food and perfect peace. Situated overlooking the sea, just five minute's stroll down the narrow Vico Maddalena from the Marina Corta, the heart of the town of Lipari and where the island's tour boats depart from, you can sunbathe on the deck at the water's edge, or step round the corner and swim off the beach at Porto delle Genti. If you prefer the beaches above Canneto, the Lunga, from which the buses leave, is only a short stroll down the main street, the Corso Vittorio Emanuele. And whether your preference is for appreciating the history in the citadel, or enjoying passeggio whilst sitting in a cafe at the Corta, or watching the world pass by from a cafe in the Corso, or simply enjoying a cocktail while gazing out over the Tyrrhenian on the hotel terrace, the Rocce Azzurre is the real jewel of Lipari. The rooms are light and airy, and airconditioned and always beautifully clean; the staff are super-friendly and couldn't be more helpful in arranging trips out or transfers. If Lipari is the best kept secret in Sicily, then this hotel is the best kept secret in the Mediterranean. But please, keep this to yourself; some things really can be too good to be true.

This family run hotel is located just a few minutes walk from the centre and overlooking the sea. From the moment you arrive you are treated like a member of the family, nothing is too much trouble. All bedrooms have wonderful sea views with balconies are well equipped.and are cleaned daily. The hotels dining room has wonderful views towards Sicily, there is also a lovely seating area where you can enjoy an aperitif from the well stocked bar. A bathing platform with sunbeds and parasols give access for swimming in the clear waters,and there is also a small public beach. The menu is changed daily with numerous choices of pasta and risotto starters, fish and meat mains and dessert. The food is based on local produce and Aeolian recipes and lovingly cooked, you can also enjoy a lovely bottle of Sicilian wine from the extensive list. Breakfast consists of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, meats, cheese, fresh breads, preserves, cakes and pastries with limitless coffee, tea, juice and water. If you are looking for a relaxing location, in a hotel where the family and staff go out of their way to make your stay memorable on a beautiful island the I would definitely recommend.

Everything is great! The views from the apartament are amazing, near to the beach, port and shops. Ariana is so helpful and kind, she was helping us all the time to find our lost wedding ring! She prepared also a small provisions for the road when we checked out before breakfast. All staff members are great and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay and vacation ☺️

What a delightful hotel - it must be as this was our nineteenth visit! Room was bright and comfortable, with wonderful sea view. Staff were extremely friendly and very efficient and the meals were wonderful, with a good choice of food the chef's tiramisu was so light, it is like eating clouds.

That’s an amazing place with a very friendly service and most remarcable views around! The place itself is nicely designed, very clean and well taken care of. I strongly recommend that hotel for those who like peacefullness, beauty and friendly atmosphere!

We were visiting family on Lipari after 23 years and loved Rocce Azzura so much last time we stayed there this time too. The owner and staff were so friendly and helpful we loved it this time too. The hotel is well maintained and the views are stunning. We’ll definitely be going back.
