Hotel Ossidiana Stromboli Center in Stromboli

This is a relatively large hotel close to the waterfront of Stromboli. It is well located for ferries being only a 5 to 10 minute walk from the port.
Our room was large and the beds comfortable and came with a decently stocked fridge, though oddly there were no glasses! An unusual feature is that the doors are padded - presumably to reduce noise. We had a small outdoor area with a table and two chairs that was totally enclosed. There is a good variety of food available at breakfast - 3 packets of cereals, scrambled egg, bacon, sausages, meat and cheeses. There are also many sweet pastries and fresh fruit. Oddly there is only one juice available which is very sweet and based on red berries - I enjoyed it but I'm sure it won't be to everyone's taste. The ubiquitous coffee is available too. The breakfast area is lovely and bright and is well adorned with lots of plants. The reception staff were friendly.

The location is very good, 3min from the port, and almost stand on the way to town Center or beach.

The room I was assigned to, was different from the one I viewed on booking. It’s a bit antique, in other words, more like a b&b, rather than a hotel room, but not the worst part, as it gave a bit of a local experience.

The problem was that there was no WiFi on the night I stayed, I had to check in super quick and leave my luggage in the room and head out for a trekking tour, then came back to the hotel quite late, found that there was no WiFi and texted the hotel WhatsApp, but got no answer, the next morning they informed me that the modem was broken and they are trying to fix it. But I didn’t receive any apology or compensation, if I didn’t bring it up directly, it would have been ignored. I only stayed one night so it wasn’t a big issue, but as a three star hotel, this isn’t something that should happen.

The breakfast was fine, quite some varieties and the environment is nice with lots of plants, but the seating and tables are dirty, not cleaned up timely.

Overall, for the same budget, maybe explore other options.

Great location near to the port. Room was nice with comfortable bed. Great breakfast with huge selection to choose from. Have stayed here a few times now when we have visited Stromboli and will continue to do so.

Mariela was kind enough to wait for us to arrive and check in to our room - since they close at 1 pm for a short time - which we did not know and were on our first walk around Stromboli. She even gave us a call to let us know in advance. Mille grazie!

Lucia and all the staff were welcoming and helpful. Perfect location for the ferry - a 2-minute walk to the hotel. We liked the breakfast and the view of the Volcano from the terrace. You could see the red glow Very convenient location.

Great Stay in Stromboli
Incredible position with sea and volcano view. Very close to the port and restaurants. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Very welcome air con in the bedrooms.

Beautiful hotel, big room and beautiful view over the port of Stromboli. The breakfast was amazing! Very convenient to visit the main center of the village and close to the port.
