The room was very small and the bathroom had no storage or shelves for wash kits, so had to put everything on the floor. The staff was friendly, but a complaint over the lack of ventilation in the bathroom was not resolved. At the beach club, a staff member followed us to our room, claiming we had not paid the bill, even though we had paid cash. There was a train track running just behind our room, train noise was annoying. Lovely views and good access to beach.

Our family planned a last-minute trip to Taormina. Needless to say, finding a hotel on short notice wasn’t easy. Our travel agent recommended a few options, but we discovered LaPlage on our own. When I sent it to her, she was hesitant—she had never sent clients there before. We decided to trust our instincts, and I am so glad we did.

Let me start by saying we are well-traveled and have high expectations for service, especially since we are in the hospitality business ourselves. Normally, we would book hotels on the level of the Ritz-Carlton (or similar brands), but given the last-minute nature of this trip, our choices were limited. To our surprise, LaPlage turned out to be one of the best stays we’ve ever had.

The service was impeccable. The property was beautifully maintained, and the staff-to-guest ratio was outstanding—there was always someone nearby to assist, greet us warmly, or simply share a smile.

As frequent over-packers, we found the room itself a little smaller than we might have liked. However, the outdoor space—with lounge chairs and a private jacuzzi—more than made up for it. After all, you spend so little time in your room in a place as stunning as Taormina.

Breakfast, which was included in our stay, was spectacular—an impressive spread that offered anything and everything you could imagine to start the day. Being in the food business, we naturally made reservations at the two Michelin-starred restaurants in Taormina, as well as a few local spots. Yet, to our surprise, the best dinner of our entire trip was at the hotel’s own restaurant. The view was breathtaking, and the food easily outshined the Michelin establishments—truly no comparison.

In the evenings, we often enjoyed a drink at the bar, where the bartenders were not only skilled but also warm and accommodating.

In the end, the staff at LaPlage made us feel like we were staying at a true 5-star resort. From beginning to end, it was an exceptional experience, and we would return in a heartbeat.

It was a difficult decision to make on whether to stay by the beach or stay at a property at the main and vibrant streets of Taormina, I believe we took the right decision by staying at La plage. The hotel is great and the bungalows are small but more than you need. Some have private gardens and others have a private jacuzzi. The breakfast is good and the terrace where breakfast is served has a super view of the sea. The beach is managed well and the sun beds are really nice. Food was great and the walk to isola Bella was very nice. Make sure you have the right footware as the beach is a pebble beach and walking without the right footware is quite difficult. The hotel does sell them for 10€ a pair. You are only a 10 min drive from the town and a 7 min walk to the cable car station that takes you up to town. I highly recommend this hotel.

La Plage has magnificent views of the sea and the iconic Isola Bella. The breakfast buffet is delicious and the staff are friendly and attentive. Be aware that the beach is rocky and hard to walk on and it’s difficult to enter and exit the sea for a swim. It’s easy to get up to Taormina via the funivia (cable car) for a 10€ round trip.

A true luxury hotel. We had the opportunity to stay in the bungalow room and the deluxe room; both with sea view. They were each amazing and had their own special charm. The staff were so friendly and professional. We loved their breakfast as well. You cannot beat these views and you get the perfect beach with the view of isola Bella right at your footstep.

It’s rather maybe a 4 star place than 5. Rooms are very smalls towels were rather fresh then white. Staff was nice and very froendly

TOP NOTCH beach resort at Isola Bella
I can’t say enough about this resort. Incredible location and wonderful hospitality with impeccable service from every level of contact. The the private bungalow was clean and had a comfortable bed. Our bungalow has it’s own private patio with jacuzzi that overlooked the sea. Just incredible. Very relaxing and enjoyable to experience the uniqueness of that with the moon over the bay of Isola Bella as our companion. While the day is lively with energy and guests enjoying the beach, the evenings are quiet and peaceful there where you can hear the lapping of sea on the shore. The beach is like a dream. You never tire of admiring the view of Isola Bella. The water is so clear. Bring your water shoes for the stone beach. The beach attendants and servers were so friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious from the variety and quality at breakfast to the beach club to the restaurants. We enjoyed lunches and dinners there several times and the fresh fish and high quality was truly impressive. We were there for our anniversary and it could not be more romantic and special place to celebrate. The event space they have to host weddings and parties is so beautiful and we were there to see a few a wedding, a baptism and birthday- each unique and beautiful. Amazing location. We have been to Taormina many times and there are many wonderful places to stay however this beach location, the high level service at every point of contact make the La Plage resort one you should not miss!

I came here for my birthday and absolutely loved the beach resort. Cocktails were great. And the service was especially amazing. Irene was a very attentive host and very kind. She even brought me a fruit platter for my birthday that i really appreciated. I also got to try the amazing ginger sweets from Simone that were delicious. I will highly reccomend this place.
