Comfortable stay. Beautiful old villa. Large room with private bathroom and balcony overlooking the river. Good breakfast. On site parking. Downside: wifi can be challenging, house needs some TLC (updates and repairs) . No A/C but we were here in October. Days were hot but room stayed cool. Might not be the case in July. Owner / manager was nice. Different sense of humor. Note: yes, they keep your passport overnight. Welcome to Italy.

Authentic, romantic, luxurious and charming. Hotel Villa Westend is a hotel for people who want some more romance in their stay than their conventional modern hotels.
The host and hostess are both friendly and try their hardest to make your stay a pleasant one.
You don't have to go far for an authentic traditional and delicious dinner too, just have your dinner right here in the hotel. The menu changes everyday and it is close to your room if you like to try the local alcoholic beverages.
Furthermore, it is a dog friendly hotel too! We brought our furry friend with us and he was well taken care for.

Romantic hotel for a couple! Well taken care of if you book your stay here. it is a authentic and old school hotel for a classical romantic experience you usually read in books and see in movies!

This hotel is in a perfect location....just a gentle stroll along the river and you are in the heart of Merano. We enjoyed a half board stay and breakfast and 5 course dinner was very good and recommended. The hotel owner was friendly and the staff were so helpful and willing to share local knowledge, tips and suggestions for sight-seeing. The rooms are clean and we appreciated opening doors to the balcony and windows (even in winter). Request a room overlooking the river for winter sunshine.

Hotel Westend is an authentic, "old world" style hotel in a fantastic and convenient location in Merano, Italy. It is located on the promenade overlooking the river and all sides will have mountain views. Walking distance to many restaurants, cafes and bars on the river promenade as well as short stroll to shops and the Thermes thermal pools (a must do in Merano). A short drive will bring you to the botanical gardens which are superb. Our 2nd floor room was very sizable for a family of 3 with a Californian king bed, room for a crib, chaise lounge and large en suite (shower, no bath, his and hers sink and bidet). Styling is kept true to the hotel's heritage with a vintage turn key lock on the door and parquetry floors and classic rugs. Windows are double glazed so very quiet at night and the room was well heated. Staff are helpful and most speak enough Italian, German and English to communicate easily. Discounts are available to local attractions when purchased via hotel eg 10% off Thermes entrance. No room service option but the dining room for a continental breakfast always had a nice selection. Lunch/dinner is also offered as a 3 course set menu. Bikes are available for hire (don't know price or if complementary) and laundry is available at $2 per item. We would return based on location, styling and size of room.
