Hotel Cosmos in Florence

We have just returned from our first trip back to Tuscany in almost 20 years and what made it truly exceptional was our stay at Hotel Cosmos in Florence.

Even before we'd arrived the lovely Amy had been such a joy to communicate with, offering so much useful information but also ensuring we had the most wonderful room for our stay.

Check-in was swift and efficient and as mentioned our room was amazing. Large, with lots of space to store the cases, a great bathroom with an AMAZING shower and killer A/C. 🙂

The location of the hotel is excellent, only a 10–12-minute walk from the Central Train Station or a short 5-minute walk up to the tram stop, which takes you right up to Central Station. The Bus Station (great for trips to Siena) is afurther 3–4-minute walk out of the Train Station.

In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cosmos, using it as a base to rediscover Florence, Siena & Lucca, before travelling home, via Pisa.  The staff are all excellent English speakers, and nothing is too much trouble, including providing additional hangers for our clothes and anything else you need.

Finding this little gem of a hotel (how it's only a 3 star is beyond us, it's worth so much more) has definitely made us think of an immediate return to Florence in in Summer 2026.

Large, with lots of space to store the cases, a great bathroom with an AMAZING shower and killer A/C. 🙂 We have real pleasure in writing here to express our gratitude and immense thanks to the whole team at the Cosmos for their help and smiley faces which certainly contributed to this return to Tuscany being such an enjoyable and memorable one.  As mentioned, before we had arrived, I had been coordinating with Amy to ensure the trip was as special as it could be for my wife, who has had some recent health issues and I am immensely grateful for her help and assistance, including the allocation of that great room, to make that a reality. We didn't take breakfast, but the offering at 8 Euros per head certainly looked good value, when you see what it includes, and you can take it in a cute little courtyard at the back of the hotel, if you wish. Staff was wonderful ! Very clean . Rooms difficult to move around with luggage- very small.

Our stay was great however, our bathroom sink was missing a drain stopper and the hotel staff was unable to provide one. Otherwise, the hotel at the staff were great.

Staff were really friendly knowledgeable and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
The bed was huge and the shower was powerful and spacious

Great hotel and location. Everything is walking distance and the staff were so friendly, very clean and quiet too.

We were given a spacious and very clean room in a recently renovated building. The bathroom was large, spotless, and well-designed, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The only downside was the lack of a proper breakfast option, though it wasn’t expected or included. Aside from that, everything was excellent. This place definitely deserves a 5-star rating.

The Walking distance to Train station is acceptable. Choices of eatery and convenience stores.

Close to train terminal, convenient, close to historic downtown and restaurants. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.

This is the second time I've stayed at the Cosmos Hotel when visiting Florence and it was definitely one of the best choices! The facilities are great, the staff is completely helpful and you can also have a nice breakfast before starting your day in the city.
