HOTEL KANICHI, Atami1 / 23

Atami, Higashikaigancho, 1?2 hoteru Guan Yi , 413-0012 Atami, Prefektura Sidzuoka, Yaponiya 🧭 Map
It was an old-fashioned hot spring hotel. The staff were all smiles as we went there for their private rooftop bathhouses. However, because the hotel wasn't tall enough and there were taller buildings nearby, the bathhouses weren't very private. The curtains were practically transparent, and the bamboo blinds in other rooms were very low... It made me feel very unsafe while soaking in the hot springs
My husband and I stayed here on a trip (using a car). We chose this hotel because the reviews had given high marks to the private baths and food, and it lived up to those reviews, with a great location and we were very satisfied! There are many other places to stay, but we would definitely like to stay here again next time!
The accommodation price is still expensive.
The scenery was beautiful and I was able to relax in the hot springs!
After comparing many options, I chose this one. It's a downhill walk from Atami Station, about ten minutes. It's an older, traditional Japanese-style hotel. Breakfast and dinner are served in the room. There's a supermarket and drugstore nearby. The five private onsen on the rooftop are a real highlight.
The staff were all Asian, and their Japanese and English were a bit mixed, which was just average. The included breakfast and dinner were very average, though perhaps not as expensive, as the food was below average for Japan. The room was quite large, but the hotel was quite old. The only positive thing about it was the rooftop onsen; without it, it would have been a disaster.

Location was near train station & walking distance to the shopping districts n F&B places. Room was spacious n comes with an ocean view. Excellent breakfast variety n taste. Service staff was helpful, attentive n friendly. The hotel provides a shuttle to the train station upon checkout in the morning. Hotel has a playroom for toddlers n gaming machines for adults.
It's an 8-minute walk from Atami Station; However, the slope is a bit steep. There's a bus stop next to Atami Station where you can take a bus. After checkout, there's a bus to Atami Station, running twice a day. The staff were very helpful! The room was a Japanese-style room, and the cleanliness and maintenance were excellent. You can see the sea from the room—nothing to complain about! The...
The staff were very friendly. The rooms were well-cleaned. The Japanese dinner was delicious. The large public bath was also clean.
The views from the room and bath were wonderful! The hot spring was lukewarm, probably because it was summer, so we were able to relax in it, and my mother said she was happy that the bath floor was non-slip and she could bathe safely. The food was also delicious. The facility itself is not new, but it seems that some of the guest rooms and restaurant have been renovated, and the staff were very friendly...
Facilities: The facilities are complete. The toiletries for the hot spring bath are from very good brands; the shampoo I used made my hair particularly voluminous and smooth. These can all be purchased in the hotel's shop. Cleanliness: The rooms are clean and tidy, with no unpleasant odors, and the air conditioning system works perfectly. Environment: The hotel is 700 meters from Atami Station, a...
The location is excellent, about a 10-minute walk to Atami tram station. The hotel faces the sea directly and is right next to the "University Hospital" bus stop. The hotel offers a complete view of the seawall extending from Sun Beach, and you can watch the Atami Fireworks Festival from your room's balcony (though there may be some obstruction). On the night of the fireworks festival, the hotel arranges...

The hotel service is great and all the staff are very polite! However, most employees have limited English and need to use google translate for communication. Providing breakfast, lunch and dinner are very rich and satisfied! The best location of the hotel is the self-drive tour!
The food was very good. After booking the room, I specifically asked Ctrip to confirm whether it was a private hot spring and whether it was a direct-flow spring, and it was. However, the next day I found that the water temperature was unusually high, and I had to add cold water. Also, the water was not clean, with flocculent floating matter, which was clearly not a natural hot spring substance. If...
This was my first stay at this hot spring hotel, and it was a delightful surprise. The food and ambiance were top-notch, and there were 14 individual hot springs of varying sizes. The service was excellent, the place was clean and tidy, and it faced the sea. The room was well-equipped, and the TV had Netflix. During my stay at Atami Ryokan, there was a fireworks display, and the hotel provided a...
We visited as a family of three. We checked in at 2pm and each family member thoroughly enjoyed their private open-air bath. It was great to be able to use all 11 baths and 3 saunas for private use! We were lucky that it was empty as we were staying for one night from Sunday. We couldn't try everything, but we would like to return with the aim of trying them all. There is also an open-air bath in the...

The hotel service is very patient. Turn on the air conditioner in advance. The hotel provides a car pick-up and drop-off service to JR Rainomiya Train Station for guests who have made reservations. great. The room booked this time has its own bathroom and shower room.
Beautiful room. Visited on off season and had the whole onsen to myself. It was great to have this relaxing moment on our roadtrip throughout the country. Amicable staff and soundless nights. Definitely recommend staying here. ( just a note for those traveling heavy. There are no elevators)
Nice one , scenic beauty and as usual helpful japanese staffs. Though we stayed in off session , we have enjoyed every moment
Wow..nice location, climate. Both sea and mountain seen from our room window..resort staffs are too good and helpful. WiFi and breakfast seems ok. Only challenge, reaching this resort by car need careful driving skill, narrow & very steep roads.

Tamai Hotel is close to Atami Station. The building itself is old, but I stayed in a standard tatami room. The highlight of my stay was being able to enjoy the spectacular view from the room. It's also great for families with children. 👍 Atami Waterside Park is nearby, and beyond that is Atami Port. The proximity to the ocean creates an open, expansive view, making it a very attractive location. This...
All the staff, including the reception staff, were very kind and I felt very comfortable! The room also had a great view of the ocean, and there wasn't much noise, so I was able to relax!
Right on the beach, the hotel room overlooks the cruise terminal. We booked a traditional tatami room, and dinner and breakfast were served directly to our room. The hotel is a bit old, but the value is decent.
It was nice to be able to relax and enjoy the meal in the room. The location was good and we were able to see the fireworks right in front of us. However, because we had the window open, mosquitoes got in and we were bothered by them all night.
You can see the vast ocean from the window of the room. It's fun to watch the ships coming in and out. The water park is right in front of the hotel, so we went for a walk by the sea at night. The food was very delicious and the wine went down well. The staff were kind and responded quickly and politely when we asked for something. The facilities are old, but the tatami mats in the room were clean...

Amazing food and a wonderful hot spring. A very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Highly recommended!
We had an amazing time here! We booked the villa with the private onsen and received a wonderful service. The staff was extremely helpful and kind, the food was fabulous and the onsen was relaxing. At the end we were happy for the great value for our money.
I cannot recommend this enough. This is a MUST DO when you are in Japan. The rooms are amazing, the service is top notch, and the food is some of the best that I ever had, without exaggeration. I was going to give 4 stars(very good) for our one night stay, however due to the Bell desk attitude, I decided to give it an average. I have stayed at many Ryokans in Japan, when you check out and leave, hotel host, bell desk people will all see us off. This hotel is an exceptional, they did not seem to care if we are leaving. Very classic. Excellent hot spring hotel. The hot spring is very comfortable. The room has a great view. The area is large. The food is not particularly outstanding. It is a bit tiring to eat. There are some memorable dishes missing. It is very convenient to watch the fireworks festival.
Top hotels charge top prices, provide top services, and provide top meals. Since the hotel has a history, it will naturally be surrounded by new buildings, but the garden view is also good. If you want to stay in an expensive hotel once in your life, this one will be your first choice.

This was my first visit in four years. I was disappointed to find the quality had significantly declined. I suspect it's due to cost-cutting measures, but the main course wasn't served warm, and the buffet, which should have been a good accompaniment to wine, was disappointing. Having to constantly get up to get up ruined the atmosphere, and the menu lacked anything that would encourage drinking. It...
I requested a shuttle service, but I was worried because I didn't receive any notice even though I was more than 10 minutes late. Since we had to climb quite a steep hill, I think it would be better to request a shuttle if you have a lot of luggage or if you arrive at night. Everything, from check-in to check-out, paying the bathing tax, and reserving the shuttle service, was done online, and I personally...

The basement carpark has only 6 lots for the size of hotel.. So we hv to park further down in the open car park. The room we stayed has toilet but no bath or shower which make it inconvenient if you don't go for the onsen The Onsen is nice anf clean. Breakfast is too simple for the price of ¥29,500 we paid. The room is big and clean. Overall is not value for money
The room was clean and uncluttered, and the amenities were all the bare minimum. All the meals were delicious, and while the main fish and meat dishes were brought to you by staff, if you wanted more you could pick up food from the buffet corner - a style I've never experienced anywhere else, but I thought was great. A little vintage, and lacking a few amenities perhaps but the onsen is great, the staff friendly and its a minute walk to the beach. Corona season made it feel like a ghost hotel, but we had the onsen to ourselves so that was nice.

Exquisite ryokan with communal same-sex hot bath indoor/outdoor and sauna. A bit far from the station if you arrive by train and have baggage to carry, perfect otherwise.

i enjoyed the time here. nice atmosphere and food
It took me about 15-20 minutes to walk from Atami Station. There is a bus, but I arrived late on the first day, so I walked instead. The bus ride takes about 10 minutes. The location is pretty good. There are small restaurants and the beach just outside. You can also walk to Hatsushima Pier or the Atami Castle Ropeway. But I think the hotel itself is just average.
This is a quintessential, elegant, and immaculately clean Japanese onsen ryokan. The stay comes with dinner and breakfast, both thoughtfully served directly to your room. We were treated to traditional Japanese seasonal cuisine, a culinary and visual delight, presented on exquisite tableware. For added luxury, high-end Sekkisei skincare products are available in the onsen area.
We were very satisfied with the excellent in-room dining and the attention to detail in the food!
The environment is elegant, the room is clean and tidy. I especially recommend staying in a room with its own Fenglu. The meals are rich and the waitress has a very good attitude. I recommend everyone to come and experience it.

I think it's good value for money for one night's stay with two meals. A tatami room with a futon... I understood there wouldn't be a view, so it wasn't a problem, but I couldn't imagine that from the photos, which made it seem like all the rooms had beds. Then, when I went to lie down on the futon, I found two or three long black hairs on the tatami that were clearly not my own, which made me feel...

The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. I barely ran into any staff or other guests during check-in or throughout the hotel, which made it feel very quiet, almost a bit eerie due to the lack of people. The Japanese-style room was very clean and nice. There was no TV in the room, but there was one in the multipurpose hall, so it wasn't a problem. There were no children around, so I was able to relax. The hot spring was just the right temperature, and although it was a small bath, there were no other guests, so I was able to relax.

Being able to choose your swimsuit and rash guard was a big help! Since it's on a hill, I don't recommend walking from the station.

You can call to arrange a shuttle from Atami Station to the hotel, but walking is really inconvenient because Atami is a hilly area, and the hotel is located on a hill. I would highly recommend staying here. The service was INCREDIBLE. They picked us up and dropped us off at the train station...in the pouring rain.
