Yutorelo Nikko, nestled by Lake Chuzenji in Okunikko, is a lakeside inn with hot springs. The rooms are spacious and clean, offering excellent value for money.

The room ambiance is great, and the lake view is beautiful. Breakfast and dinner are also quite good, not just for show. The service attitude is excellent.

However, the hot spring water hasn't been particularly hot these past two days, though it definitely has that authentic natural hot spring smell.

Personally, I'm also not a huge fan of having a sheet between me and the duvet... even though that's quite common in Japan.

The hotel's location is okay, but it lacks amenities. It's convenient for hiking, but not for visiting other attractions. After 6 PM, the entire street is deserted with no shops open. There are absolutely no convenience stores. Even the regular bus is quite expensive. One time, I missed the last bus and had to take a taxi from the city back to the hotel, which cost a whopping 8600 yen. Very expensive.

The BEST hostel I ever stayed in! If you are staying in Lake Chuzenji in Nikko you got to stay here.

It is a hostel within a hotel so it is very clean, safe and very big. The staff are very friendly and everything is amazing.

They have a free onsen + a lounge with drinks, tea, wine, coffee, and ice cream bars that you could take! They have a microwave too if you need it and a hot water dispenser.

The hotel is right in front of the lake so you know you’re gonna have a good time! The bus station is also right in front and if you are parking they have plenty of space!

You have to come here. I will come here again!

This was an interesting stay I was very obviously here in the absolute off season. The hotel is run in an interesting mix of can be cheap and can be high class. I didn't book with dinner included which is a mistake because during off season the surroundings were somewhat lacking no Konbini. The hotel offered microwaved food a bit pricily for the people who hadn't ordered the high class dinner option. I assume it was pretty high class because I did order the breakfast which was pretty high class. Except the coffee which wasn't. But the Onsen was great the room was good. Checkin and checkout is easily done. Amenities are good.

Great value for money (what more could you ask for? LOL), unbeatable views, and a large public bath. Breakfast and dinner are mainly Western-style, perfect for introverts looking to relax. It's a bit of a walk from Chuzenji Onsen Station, about 10-15 minutes if you're pulling luggage. Chuzenji Post Office is a bit closer. Perhaps because it's winter, all the shops nearby were closed, so it's best to stock up on food before heading up the mountain.

Unfriendly staff made you feel unwelcomed... The onsens aren't really hot enough for some reason even though they're pretty big. You'll feel like an outcast if you stay in the dormitory. There's a huge selection of manga though so at least there's something.

Good vibes and good location. Onsen is very relaxed. Common area very good rest area.
