Nikko, 155-1 Kinugawa Onsentaki 🧭 Map
The location is good and very convenient for traveling by car. The staff have a great service mindset. The onsen and public bath are excellent. The room is clean. This hotel is highly recommended.
The large windows allowed for great morning views of the mountains. The onsen is in a separate building but was nice to have. The lobby also has some sitting areas, a manga room, massage chairs and good vending machines
It's located a 15-minute walk from the station, which I didn't find inconvenient at all. I traveled to Nikko every day, using my all-area Free Pass, and the journey, with one transfer, took about 1 to 1
In the evenings, I always had it to myself, which was wonderful! The hotel might not be brand new, but the room was fully equipped with everything I needed – a kettle, a fridge, and a hairdryer
Great hotel. Lovely onsen and private onsen which was great as I have tattoos. Authentic Japanese vibe. Polite and helpful staff, I would return.
This place is perfect for family road trips, especially with the ample parking available. The rooms are spacious too, we had a great time!

The kaiseki dinners and breakfasts are not merely a feast for the taste buds but also a visual art. Each dish is like a delicate haiku, narrating the seasonal stories of Nikko through the finest ingredients of the season
Then, sinking into the indoor and outdoor *furo* (baths), letting the warm spring water embrace your body, you can gaze upon the autumn colors of the garden or the starlit night sky. This ambiance is simply perfect
Well located hotel with nice onsen - including option to book a private one. Fantastic breakfast and great access to sights around. Friendly staff and great place to disconnect and relax in an authentic way.
The food is also exceptional; there are countless small dishes and bowls, and you'll definitely leave feeling completely full. The hot springs are incredibly relaxing too, and you can enjoy them anytime
The beauty of its garden is comparable to the renowned Ruriko-in – the same interplay of light and shadow, the same myriad shades of autumn leaves, but with an added sense of private immersion
Nikko Hoshino Yado was, without a doubt, the most stunning chapter of our trip. It's much more than just a hotel; it's a living temple of Japanese aesthetics

If you want a traditional Japanese onsen experience with traditional Japanese cuisine this is a good place for you
Good service, reasonably priced, awesome view, very polite staff
The Japanese-style room overlooking the valley was nice, and the open-air hot spring was great. If you're driving, I recommend visiting Nikko Toshogu Shrine and then staying overnight at Kinugawa Onsen.
The room with the river view is big enough for 3 people. The hospitality is superb. Since we came from Thailand, we were greeted and taken care by a Thai staff. That was a nice surprise.
An old hot spring hotel with the famous staircase bridge right next door. The rooms are quite traditional Japanese style. The hot springs are divided into inside and outside
A lovely place to visit for an onsen experience. 50min always seems too short to use the private bath, but you can always use the public baths.

The food is good. And staff is friendly. The room is a bit small.
The quality of food and hot springs is very high. There is a shuttle bus arrangement. The environment is very beautiful. The snow festival arranges a shuttle to and from the venue at night. It is worth recommending
We had a delicious dinner in a private room with a hearth. The large windows offered a beautiful view of the autumn leaves and the river, making it a relaxing and clean place. The staff were also very friendly.
Thank you so much for kindly coming to pick me up even though it was so late and there were no more trains running. I will continue to use your service.
Everything is fine and cozy. It's just a little lacking in basic personal care items.
Probably the best inn at Yunishigawa Onsen. What's amazing is that Google Maps reviews don't have a single star. The food, hot springs and customer service are perfect, and the price is reasonable

Nikko, 1394 Kinugawa Onsen Ohara 🧭 Map
Along with the Onsen being out in the open on the balcony we found this lacked privacy for our liking. There was excellent responsive air conditioning
The room rate includes free mini bar with beer and iced tea and water. Only negative was poor quality towels and tissues. All staff were extremely attentive and nothing is too much for them
Very well maintained facilities and well curated breakfast and dinner. Great pickup and drop off service from and to the train station. Everyone at the hotel is very friendly and polite
Perhaps the higher floors would likely have a better view. Spacious bathroom with a separate toilet. Good shower but no external curtain or privacy screen available
The room had a nice balcony but this could not easily be used as the afternoons were hot. There was minimal view from this room limited to trees and forested hillside and not the river
The stunning surroundings are matched by the dedication of the staff, especially Moeka, who was exceptionally personable and professional. Her service made my stay unforgettable

Breakfast and dinner are traditional Japanese course and I love them.   About Onsen, it might not be in the best condition but it is good enough.   If I have a chance to return to Nikko, I will stay at this place again
I went to Yumoto for hiking and found this wonderful place. Although, they cannot fully communicate in English. They are trying their best to make sure my stay is the best experience I have
However I felt crowded when you have six people using the onsen. The change room was small and suggest you timed your entry to get best use of the onsen. The highlight for us was the food
Had a wonderful time here in October. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind. Several spoke quite good English. The facilities were clean but a little old and worn down
We booked this hotel for overnight stay as we hiked from Ryuzu Cascades to Oku Nikko. The hotel ground is clean and staff spoke well English. The onsen water was amazing, milky blue colour with indoor and outdoor pools
Travel back to Nikko was easy, you can walk to bus terminal in 5min but I won’t suggest to carry large luggage as there is no room to store the large luggage and you would need to hold it securely all the time

We enjoyed our stay at Nanaeyae during autumn. The staff were wonderful throughout and served us delicious meals. We also particularly enjoyed the onsen bath which was well-maintained and invigorating.
The public bath was also really comfortable with great facilities and a lovely outdoor bath too. Thank you so much again for hosting us, I would highly recommend staying here
We had a lovely stay, experiencing aspects of Japanese culture - such as the food, Japanese room and the beautiful onsen. It was further away from the Nikko World Heritage Site than we realised when booking
We had the pleasure of staying at Nanaeyae for Christmas Eve. The service we received was impeccable - we felt at ease at all times and were treated as valued customers
The service was excellent, the food superb, and the room offered a fantastic view. The soup, however, was only decent.
The room was absolutely stunning, with a private onsun, stunning view of the landscape and comfortable bed. The dinner was absolutely delicious dinner and we felt so full afterwards

The staff is very friendly, breakfast and dinner are very rich, and the environment is also good.
I took a bus from Kinugawa Onsen Station for 300 yen directly to the main entrance of the hotel. The front desk service was warm, and the dinner and breakfast were also very rich!
The name of the hotel is Huaqianxiang, and you need to search for this name on Google Maps. We booked two different suites, both with balconies (equipment platforms), and the river views are good
Although the restaurant staff urged us to eat, they had a good attitude and kept saying sorry. In fact, this matter was due to our earlier mistakes, so we can't blame the hotel entirely
It is about 1.2 km from Kinugawa Onsen Station. The room has a balcony. Below is Kinugawa River. The scenery is nice. The latest breakfast is at 8 o'clock, which is a little early.
I went to Nikko for a trip and stayed at the Kinugawa Onsen Hotel the night before. It included one dinner and one breakfast, and there was also a natural hot spring ♨️ to use

A fantastic experience! We traveled with our elders and two-year-old, and it seemed perfect for a family trip
The food was delicious, both dinner and breakfast, and the staff was excellent! Most importantly, the hotel was very clean and tidy! Highly recommended!
The service and facilities were excellent. The snow on the road in front of the hotel was cleared promptly. The price/performance ratio was very high and I would definitely choose this hotel again.
I came here for a family trip and I am satisfied. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes by bus from Tobu Nikko Station. The hot spring water is good because it is a sulfur hot spring
The food is also delicious and it is a good place for a family trip
The service was excellent, with the typical Japanese attentiveness, and the staff spoke decent English, so communication wasn't a problem. Overall, a very unique hotel, definitely worth experiencing

The chef accommodated our dietary restriction of no meat. Shuttle vans can be arranged for pick up and drop off at train stations and local shrines. The staff’s English is limited so find a good translation app
Food was delicious and the public bath was clean and good. Highly recommended for couples or for people who want to chill and do nothing
The two meals included with the stay were excellent; the sashimi was served in an ice basin, a thoughtful touch
Best Ryokan we have stayed to date. Wonderful setting and staff
This small, beautiful hotel is tastefully decorated with Japanese art and objects.  The room was spacious and airy. Sandals are provided for walking in the hallways; no shoes or sandals on the room’s traditional mats
10/10 satisfaction, because my wife was very satisfied. The hotel isn't large, but the design is thoughtful and meticulous. I especially appreciated the private bath (¥2000/hour) and the inner garden view

Nice hotel in good location of Chuzenji lake. Peaceful quiet and relaxing with onsen 👍🏻
The inn is located right in front of Lake Chuzenji, and although it is compact, it was quiet and comfortable. The food was delicious, but I was also impressed by the colorful tableware that was used to serve it.
They responded quickly and, though we didn’t keep the same room for the second night, they gave us an even bigger and better room with a private outdoor onsen for no increased price as an engagement gift to us
It's new and very comfortable. Environment: The window overlooks Lake Chuzenji. Opening the curtains in the morning is truly stunning. I really enjoyed this hotel and would definitely stay again
I booked a room without meals but added dinner on my second day, and it was a great choice! The staff were all very kind and spoke English well, which made my stay even more comfortable
They provided guests with pyjamas, kimonos, indoor and outdoor slippers too, which could be worn to breakfast in the mornings. Breakfast was very delicious too, worth booking

Reasonably priced and good location, breakfast session runs a little short though, especially considering the breakfast room is quite small so you may have a bit of a wait if you're not early with a fairly rushed meal.
The staff provided excellent service. My only disappointment was not being aware beforehand that parking wasn't available until 3 PM. This made it challenging to meet up with my international guests
The service staff was good, except on the day of checkout when they were very insistent that we checked out before the 10 am checkout time, even though I kept explaining that I had my children and wife still in the room while I returned my rental car
Absolutely delighted with our stay! We stayed for two nights on a room-only basis. Our main purpose was to visit Nikko Toshogu Shrine, so we specifically chose this accommodation for its convenient walking distance
I was there few years ago on the day of first snow at Nikko . The service is good impress to me. I was there with my family, the room is large .
Great staff, great location and great rooms. The place is very well kept and the breakfast is good too. Onsen is in the basement and worth trying, so relaxing

Beautiful Onsen and a place to Stay with the nicest breakfast that is prepared for you at your convienient time . There is a scheduled bus that drop you off in front of the Nikko Shrine . Will definitely come again
The staff were very attentive, as always in Japan. The breakfast was extraordinary. The only slight drawback was that we stayed Sunday night. The hotel restaurant is closed on Sunday evenings
Purely Japanese experience, sleeping with futon, very hearty Japanese meal, Japanese breakfast. Location, right next to the temples. Just, the taps need modernization and the parking lots are opposite the hotel
However, there are plenty of dining options within walking distance, so it wasn't a major issue. On the plus side, we had access to the baths all night
Although the room was a little old, the heating made people feel warm every time they walked in, and there was a kettle for hot tea at any time. The staff was very considerate and knew some simple English communication
The food is excellent! We had a great dinner and breakfast. The place is close to historical spots, which is convenient.

Breakfast and dinner were both excellent. The explanations were very helpful. I would definitely stay here again
A quiet little town, the waitresses were exceptionally kind. The hot springs were very comfortable; I booked two private baths, and everything was perfect except the water was a bit cold
Day time with the sun glistening on the water and spring foliage blooming made the scene feel like a video game / avatar. But if you stick your head out to see the water, the dinner venue / bridge area can see you naked
The whole experience at this ryokan was magical. Our room with the private onsen was so comfortable and we were lucky enough to get snow on our final morning
But the best part was the service, the guy who attended us during reception, show us the room and explained the dinner was just fantastic. Thank you very much for making us feel welcome!
Sitting in the onsen while it snowed outside is a memory I will be forever grateful for. The food was exceptional and the staff were so attentive and kind

I relaxed with the feeling of being a completely private space. The room bath was nice, but the hot springs for rent were also the best. I didn't pass each other while I was moving to the annex, so I went in smoothly
The building has an old feel to it, but maybe that's part of the charm? Next time I'd like to stay for several nights and relax
One of the staff (Ang Diki) showed us to our room and prepared a private Onsen for us. She also chased up with the bus company Lost and Found as my wife's watch had come off in the bus
It was not found but the effort was appreciated. Our room was large and comfortable with a massage chair. After a wonderful breakfast the next day we were taken back to the station. A great stay with excellent staff
I didn't feel any inconvenience because I was picked up from Nikko station. We stayed at the Classic Hall and were impressed by the jacuzzi bath, massage chairs and bath TV
Very nice inside and outside, the room was large and the TV was big and relaxing. In the main building, it was good that the private open-air bath (hot spring) could be bathed for 24 hours

We had and amazing time here! The staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable. The onsen was so refreshing after a long day of travel. We also loved the beautiful setting next to the lake
The dishes were not only delicious but also showcased the freshness and quality of the ingredients. It was truly a highlight of our trip. The view from the hotel was breathtaking

The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout our stay and made every effort to accommodate our needs. We really enjoyed the food, it was excellent as were all the catering staff.
The customer service manners of employees are the best. Not many rooms on a spacious site. The food is delicious and the hot springs are reasonably good
Great stay at this traditional Japanese hotel! Property is older but clean and kept in good condition
The hot spring water is of good quality; however, due to the limited number of rooms, the number of people bathing in the hot spring is usually only in the single digits
Overall it was good. However, I chose it because it has a Wi-Fi connection, but the room I stayed in was too poorly connected to use. Does it depend on the location?
They go out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of during your stay such as booking your shuttle each morning for drop off / pick-up from town, breakfast and dinner times. Meals are traditional Japanese

As you stroll along the quiet country road from the train stop to the inn, you are transported back in time and imagine being a merchant, warrior or weary traveler making your way from some faraway town to Edo
The staff, location and surroundings are elegant and beautiful. Be sure to include the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast. Each meal is locally sourced, very unique, tasty and beautifully presented
Good service and food, also the spa. Very calm place, good space of the room. It is available on all occasions.
A beautiful traditional Onsen ryokan! We had experienced a couple of Onsen ryokans in other big cities in Japan at double the price that are much more ‘resort’ centric
Daisuke, the 3rd generation owner and his wife are GREAT hosts and made our stay memorable. An absolute MUST DO experience. The best deals are usually directly through their website

On arrival I was met outside the hotel by a staff member who welcomed me and brought me into the lobby and introduced me to the reception staff who booked me in and informed me about the public bath and coffee bar area and told me about the hotel
I was surprised that it went beyond my expectations. The welcome drinks and snacks were awesome. My sister loved the mochi with strawberry. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and relatives.
I was then taken up to my room/apartment and showed around the apartment. I was taken back with the size of my room which was clean and very comfortable and soon got ready to go down for dinner
From Nikko, you will need to take another short train ride to Kinugawaonsen station, and the hotel will shuttle you from there (or it's a 12 minute walk)
