This was the real Japanese hotel experience. Wonderful inside and outdoor hot baths. Beds come out from the closet for the evening. Lovely service of delicious Japanese banquet dinner
Very good and friendly service from the hotel staff. Good hot spring bath with both internal bath and external open air bath. Excellent food for dinner and breakfast with many dishes
Besides traditional inside & outside onsen, there is also jaccuzi style pool. The dinner and breakfast are also taste good
Beautiful onsen. Every single person working there was really nice and helpful.
While we opted for a room-only plan this time, we would absolutely love to book a stay with breakfast and dinner included on our next visit
Wonderful view of the forest, mountains and river from my room

Another five minutes' walk brings me to Furukama Falls, so you can do a little sightseeing in the morning. The hot springs, which have both an open-air bath and an indoor bath, were very pleasant
My only complaint is that the buffet wasnt as hot as I would have liked and the showers in the rooms took 5 minutes to heat, most likely due to the age of the building. The Onsens were both inside and outside
It's located very close to the Kinu Tateiwa Suspension Bridge. I woke up just before 6am and when I opened the curtains, the morning sun bathed me in a truly divine view
The hotel was very comfortable and well-equipped with amenities such as a buffet, karaoke, and table tennis! It's a lovely hotel and affordable, so I'd love to come back!
When I opened the door, I was greeted by the sounds of the river flowing and the birds singing, which was very soothing. I took a walk across the suspension bridge and was greeted by Kinuta standing nearby
There were a lot of guests with children, so the shared areas and dining halls in the hotel were very lively, but our room was quiet and we enjoyed the view, so we were able to relax

Amazing scenery in a quiet town. They will pick you up and drop you off at the train stations. The outdoor onsen was beautiful and overlooks the river. Karaoke room in the hotel, arcade room and play area for kids
Recommended the staff is very nice too🥰
The staff are very kind and helpful. The hot springs are separated by gender depending on the time. The open-air baths available to men in the morning are comfortable.
The most important buffet dinner during the stay was served very late, and the dishes were often empty, which is very rare in Japan
We loved our stay here! Although it was unfortunate that we arrived after the typhoon that destroyed some areas, that even their employees were affected but still did their best in accommodating their guest.
The food🍴 was great, the bath was okay, but there was one unfortunate thing I forgot to mention to the front desk. There was a large centipede in my room

A long-established hot spring hotel! Including breakfast and dinner, it’s really cost-effective! The food is super delicious, from sashimi to small pots! Strawberry wine for appetizer, hot tea and dessert after meal! The hot springs are also quite good
Futons are very cosy, kaiseki dinner was worth it, but if your kids do not like Japanese style food, you need to think of it beforehand. I would recommend to stay in this hotel and enjoy Japanese experience
We are a family of four adults with children, and we had a very satisfying stay! I've stayed in many hotels before that were twice as expensive as this one, but they felt about the same
The staff is very helful and welcoming, many free amenities are provided: yukata clothes for kids for all ages, socks for geta shoes, face sheet masks for ladies
It surely needs renovation in some areas, but you forget about this, because the hotel service is very good
Very friendly staff and older hotel are very clean

We walked around the picturesque town with so many beautiful photo spots! If you’re catching the first train out of Nikko (7:37am), do note there is NO taxi service & breakfast starts at 730am so we had to forfeit breakfast
The friendly receptionist spoke basic english. There were 2 smoking booths at floor 3&4. The onsen(both indoor and outdoor) was a nice experience. As there were few guest, I had the whole onsen all to myself
The hotel has two hot springs, indoor and outdoor, both of which are very comfortable. When checking out, you need to pay 350 yen (I forgot the exact price) after the hot spring, which I personally think is negligible
When I used it, there were only two other guests. I was able to relax and enjoy the bath without meeting anyone in the public bath. Dinner and breakfast were also served in a private dining room, so you could relax
There was also 2 private onsens which you can book for 2000yen. Amenities were stocked up and I was impressed! Meals were included in the price, and dinner was an experience. Everything closes early here in winter
The room rate includes breakfast and dinner, especially the first time I experienced it, I also had a small hot pot of soy milk cooked into tofu, and the overall set meal tasted good

The overall experience was very good. Place was super clean. Room was very spacious and neat. Western bathroom and Shower room is present. Onsen was nice as well. Very relaxing. Will definitely come back :)
Beautiful tasteful high ceiling public bath . Very relaxing when talking the bath while facing a large forest. The Japanese-style rooms are clean and the bedding is comfortable. The price is very reasonable.
It's located a 15-minute walk from the station, which I didn't find inconvenient at all. I traveled to Nikko every day, using my all-area Free Pass, and the journey, with one transfer, took about 1 to 1
Great value for money, and the room was spacious, which I really appreciated. All the necessary amenities were provided, so my stay was very comfortable
The location is good and very convenient for traveling by car. The staff have a great service mindset. The onsen and public bath are excellent. The room is clean. This hotel is highly recommended.
In the evenings, I always had it to myself, which was wonderful! The hotel might not be brand new, but the room was fully equipped with everything I needed – a kettle, a fridge, and a hairdryer

While the autumn leaves at Lake Chuzenji were mostly gone at this time of year, Kinugawa itself was still stunning. Facilities: The outdoor facilities were a bit cold, but the room felt very well maintained
Located close to Tobu World Square and Edo Wonderland. Private onsen at rooftop is awesome, can use together with your family and friends. : Public onsen located in second floor is great too
It had comfortable tatami mats and all the necessary amenities. Cleanliness: The cleanliness of Japanese hotels is impeccable. Service: Typical Japanese service, meticulous and attentive
A very nice old-fashioned hotel. Although it's quite old, it's very well maintained. Located in Kinugawa, the area is also very beautiful
A wide selection of traditional food – plenty to try. Beautiful views, especially if you book a room with a river view. The onsen facilities are very basic, but the water is pleasant! The hotel is old and in poor repair
The guests are mostly Japanese retirees. The receptionists speak almost no English

The kaiseki dinners and breakfasts are not merely a feast for the taste buds but also a visual art. Each dish is like a delicate haiku, narrating the seasonal stories of Nikko through the finest ingredients of the season
Then, sinking into the indoor and outdoor *furo* (baths), letting the warm spring water embrace your body, you can gaze upon the autumn colors of the garden or the starlit night sky. This ambiance is simply perfect
Well located hotel with nice onsen - including option to book a private one. Fantastic breakfast and great access to sights around. Friendly staff and great place to disconnect and relax in an authentic way.
The food is also exceptional; there are countless small dishes and bowls, and you'll definitely leave feeling completely full. The hot springs are incredibly relaxing too, and you can enjoy them anytime
The beauty of its garden is comparable to the renowned Ruriko-in – the same interplay of light and shadow, the same myriad shades of autumn leaves, but with an added sense of private immersion
Nikko Hoshino Yado was, without a doubt, the most stunning chapter of our trip. It's much more than just a hotel; it's a living temple of Japanese aesthetics

The Japanese-style room overlooking the valley was nice, and the open-air hot spring was great. If you're driving, I recommend visiting Nikko Toshogu Shrine and then staying overnight at Kinugawa Onsen.
The room with the river view is big enough for 3 people. The hospitality is superb. Since we came from Thailand, we were greeted and taken care by a Thai staff. That was a nice surprise.
An old hot spring hotel with the famous staircase bridge right next door. The rooms are quite traditional Japanese style. The hot springs are divided into inside and outside
A lovely place to visit for an onsen experience. 50min always seems too short to use the private bath, but you can always use the public baths.

in the meal, which may seem simple, but it is the best to fully enjoy the extraordinary feeling with the contents that you think would be difficult if you prepare it yourself! The quality of the spring is alkaline with beautiful skin, but it also contains sulfur, so I think that various hot spring lovers will be satisfied 😃 I have taken a bath eight times in one night ☺️ Next time I would like to stay...
We had a delicious dinner in a private room with a hearth. The large windows offered a beautiful view of the autumn leaves and the river, making it a relaxing and clean place. The staff were also very friendly.
The quality of food and hot springs is very high. There is a shuttle bus arrangement. The environment is very beautiful. The snow festival arranges a shuttle to and from the venue at night. It is worth recommending
Probably the best inn at Yunishigawa Onsen. What's amazing is that Google Maps reviews don't have a single star. The food, hot springs and customer service are perfect, and the price is reasonable
Thank you so much for kindly coming to pick me up even though it was so late and there were no more trains running. I will continue to use your service.

The customer service was very good. However, the shower in the room was unusable. Also, the toilet wouldn't flush if the water was running somewhere in the room.
Overall it was good but the water pressure in the shower was poor
Had an overnight trip to Kinugawa Onsen and stayed here. Ryokan vicinity is very quiet and conducive for family outings.
Good Japanese traditional breakfast. Good onsen in room.
It was great to have an open-air bath in the room ^_^ The large communal bath had a sauna, and I was impressed with the spectacular view from the open-air bathing space ✨ The buffet was delicious and amazing ♪ I want to go again ^_^
However, the location is relatively remote and it is inconvenient to take a taxi. Fortunately, the counter staff was very enthusiastic to help call a taxi, and it was included in the pocket list

Very well maintained facilities and well curated breakfast and dinner. Great pickup and drop off service from and to the train station. Everyone at the hotel is very friendly and polite
This amazing hotel is located in the heart of Kinugawa with views over the gorge and is a 15 minute drive to Nikko. On arrival there are staff to take your car and bags and to check you in which is a seamless experience
The room rate includes free mini bar with beer and iced tea and water. Only negative was poor quality towels and tissues. All staff were extremely attentive and nothing is too much for them
The room had a nice balcony but this could not easily be used as the afternoons were hot. There was minimal view from this room limited to trees and forested hillside and not the river
The stunning surroundings are matched by the dedication of the staff, especially Moeka, who was exceptionally personable and professional. Her service made my stay unforgettable
There is coffee and tea available on arrival while you wait. This occurs in a pleasant lounge overlooking the forested valley. Across from the lounge is a well appointed shop

The staff were very friendly, and I was impressed by the spaciousness of the lobby! Everything is huge and luxurious! Our room was on the first floor of Yanagi-no-Yakata, but it was comfortable and not as bad as the reviews said
The meal was a buffet, which is Itoen Hotels' trademark, so I won't criticize it at this point, but I'd say it was neither good nor bad. However, the indoor bath is probably one of the largest of all Itoen Hotels
The Ichiryukakaku Main Building is just so luxurious. When my wife and I were younger, the Ichiryukakaku Main Building was synonymous with the highest quality hotels. I headed to the reception with excitement
The room was incredibly warm, and I didn't catch a cold and had a great night's sleep
It offers high-quality hot springs at a fraction of the price compared to Atami or Hakone. Though simple, there's a welcome drink service
I booked this room at short notice at my wife's request

So visited Yumoto Itaya as onsen / hot springs guest for a few hours. Extremely peaceful clean comfortable environment with an indoor and outdoor pool / bath. About $US 8 and they provide a face towel and a bath towel
I went to Yumoto for hiking and found this wonderful place. Although, they cannot fully communicate in English. They are trying their best to make sure my stay is the best experience I have
Breakfast and dinner are traditional Japanese course and I love them.   About Onsen, it might not be in the best condition but it is good enough.   If I have a chance to return to Nikko, I will stay at this place again
Travel back to Nikko was easy, you can walk to bus terminal in 5min but I won’t suggest to carry large luggage as there is no room to store the large luggage and you would need to hold it securely all the time
We had 4 nights here due to typhoon. The foods is magnificent, the staff friendly and caring and the rooms so comfortable. The walks we did were some of the best ever. Such a quiet and delightful find
I’ve visited this hotel many times and I think it’s the best one in the Yumoto area. The quality of the onsen water is really great. The rooms are comfortable and the meal has always been nice.

We enjoyed our stay at Nanaeyae during autumn. The staff were wonderful throughout and served us delicious meals. We also particularly enjoyed the onsen bath which was well-maintained and invigorating.
The public bath was also really comfortable with great facilities and a lovely outdoor bath too. Thank you so much again for hosting us, I would highly recommend staying here
We had a lovely stay, experiencing aspects of Japanese culture - such as the food, Japanese room and the beautiful onsen. It was further away from the Nikko World Heritage Site than we realised when booking
We had the pleasure of staying at Nanaeyae for Christmas Eve. The service we received was impeccable - we felt at ease at all times and were treated as valued customers
The room was absolutely stunning, with a private onsun, stunning view of the landscape and comfortable bed. The dinner was absolutely delicious dinner and we felt so full afterwards

I took a bus from Kinugawa Onsen Station for 300 yen directly to the main entrance of the hotel. The front desk service was warm, and the dinner and breakfast were also very rich!
It is about 1.2 km from Kinugawa Onsen Station. The room has a balcony. Below is Kinugawa River. The scenery is nice. The latest breakfast is at 8 o'clock, which is a little early.
I went to Nikko for a trip and stayed at the Kinugawa Onsen Hotel the night before. It included one dinner and one breakfast, and there was also a natural hot spring ♨️ to use

The food was delicious, both dinner and breakfast, and the staff was excellent! Most importantly, the hotel was very clean and tidy! Highly recommended!
The service and facilities were excellent. The snow on the road in front of the hotel was cleared promptly. The price/performance ratio was very high and I would definitely choose this hotel again.
Opinions on the experience vary, but the Japanese seem to enjoy it, haha. The hotel includes breakfast and dinner, which were surprisingly high quality, and the menu changed daily, which was a pleasant surprise
The service was excellent, with the typical Japanese attentiveness, and the staff spoke decent English, so communication wasn't a problem. Overall, a very unique hotel, definitely worth experiencing
A rather unique hot spring hotel. The room I booked was a Japanese-style room (washitsu), purely tatami room, and there's no bathroom inside – please be aware of this

This small, beautiful hotel is tastefully decorated with Japanese art and objects.  The room was spacious and airy. Sandals are provided for walking in the hallways; no shoes or sandals on the room’s traditional mats
The chef accommodated our dietary restriction of no meat. Shuttle vans can be arranged for pick up and drop off at train stations and local shrines. The staff’s English is limited so find a good translation app
10/10 satisfaction, because my wife was very satisfied. The hotel isn't large, but the design is thoughtful and meticulous. I especially appreciated the private bath (¥2000/hour) and the inner garden view
Service is perfect and took care of everything well. Location wise not so convenient and better for self driving, otherwise cannot go anywhere nearby
One point should improve is the check out time is 10:30AM, which is way earlier than most hotel and may cause some inconvenience for some travelers
