Nikko, 263-1 Matsubara-cho 🧭 Map
My stay at Hotel Famitic Nikko was fantastic, and I'd highly recommend it. The location is perfect for exploring the area – just a 5-minute walk from Nikko station and conveniently situated right opposite a FamilyMart
The capsule was very comfortable and clean! Also there was a bathhouse on the first floor with a hot bath which was especially convenient and very soothing after a adventurous day in the mountains!
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which always makes a stay more pleasant. One of the highlights was the onsen, which was a wonderful way to relax after a day of sightseeing
What truly sets this capsule hotel apart is the design of the capsules themselves. It honestly felt more like having a small single room than a typical capsule
Very kind receptionist and a very calm atmosphere inside the hotel
There's also the free public bath facility downstairs for guests to use the location was very convenient, there's a convenient store right across the road. Its a short walk to the restaurants, station and supermarket

YUTORELO NIKKO - Hostel, Nikko1 / 30

Nikko, 2484 Chugushi 🧭 Map
They have a free onsen + a lounge with drinks, tea, wine, coffee, and ice cream bars that you could take! They have a microwave too if you need it and a hot water dispenser
Yutorelo Nikko, nestled by Lake Chuzenji in Okunikko, is a lakeside inn with hot springs. The rooms are spacious and clean, offering excellent value for money.
The hotel is right in front of the lake so you know you’re gonna have a good time! The bus station is also right in front and if you are parking they have plenty of space! You have to come here
Great value for money (what more could you ask for? LOL), unbeatable views, and a large public bath. Breakfast and dinner are mainly Western-style, perfect for introverts looking to relax
The BEST hostel I ever stayed in! If you are staying in Lake Chuzenji in Nikko you got to stay here. It is a hostel within a hotel so it is very clean, safe and very big
It's a bit of a walk from Chuzenji Onsen Station, about 10-15 minutes if you're pulling luggage. Chuzenji Post Office is a bit closer

Very nice hotel with nice shared onsens (both indoor and outdoor). Although not the most romantic, the onsens have good and clean water and they were not crowded when we went to them
Nice Hotel located near Lake Yuniko. breakfast is a full Japanese and the rooms have an option of both western beds or sleeping on the Tatami mats in a Futon, Facilities are good and room was very tidy and clean
——-I only had breakfast here, the Japanese breakfast was great! The menu for dinner has wagyu beef, it should be good too ——The service staff are all old men. It’s quite an old hotel and most Japanese people come to stay
There was maybe some miscommunication about dinners, because we asked if the hotel cooks in the evening and we were told that it's not, but later we saw other guests eating their dinner in the hotel restaurant
The exterior was also under renovation as of mid-November 2025 so I didn't have a view from my window. The front staff made good attempt to communicate in English so I'm grateful
The internet connection works well and is unexpectedly fast for this hotel in the middle of nowhere. There was a reconstruction of the hotel during our stay (scaffolding etc

What you see from the outside is completely different from the inside. There are so many dishes that you can't eat them all. I felt sorry for leaving it behind. It is a pity that the bathroom has only two showers
I was grateful for the accommodating hospitality despite my late arrival and late check-in time. The accommodations were spacious and clean, and the extended bathhouse hours were a nice touch.
It was enough for an overnight stay. I didn't include dinner so I went to a nearby restaurant by car. The facility was quiet and nice!
I went there because the Google reviews were good, and I'm satisfied
There was a toilet, refrigerator, and air purifier, and above all, I was happy to be able to watch BS on TV. There were many dishes in the morning and evening, and they were all delicious and I was really satisfied
Amazing Ryokan held by a very nice couple. The kaiseki diner and breakfast were especially Amazing !! If you don’t mind using a public bathroom I totally recommend you this Ryokan 👍

Beautiful Onsen and a place to Stay with the nicest breakfast that is prepared for you at your convienient time . There is a scheduled bus that drop you off in front of the Nikko Shrine . Will definitely come again
The staff were very attentive, as always in Japan. The breakfast was extraordinary. The only slight drawback was that we stayed Sunday night. The hotel restaurant is closed on Sunday evenings
Old hotel but very clean, great location, can walk to Nikko Toshogu Shrine. (Parking in that area is expensive. ) If you reserve here, you can just park and walk easily
Your name will be displayed on the board next to the entrance of the ryokan to show that they were currently welcoming these guests staying at the ryokan! We stayed there for 2 nights with free parking and we didn’t have to drive anywhere until we checked out as the ryokan is within walking distance to the 3 major world heritage listed shrines including The Toshogu Palace
Delicious food in the evening served right in your room. In the morning, go to eat at the restaurant. The room is very comfortable, sleep well
Avoid room 312 or 313 (which we stayed) which are the smallest rooms. Those rooms in the middle parts are bigger and more comfortable

A quiet little town, the waitresses were exceptionally kind. The hot springs were very comfortable; I booked two private baths, and everything was perfect except the water was a bit cold
Highlight: The public outdoor Onsen. Gentle clear river, you can see little fishes, a little waterfall & the onsen excess water flowing into the river. Beautiful both at night and day
The whole experience at this ryokan was magical. Our room with the private onsen was so comfortable and we were lucky enough to get snow on our final morning
Sitting in the onsen while it snowed outside is a memory I will be forever grateful for. The food was exceptional and the staff were so attentive and kind
The hotel environment is very good. The service is also warm and considerate. There will be a drum welcome ceremony. There is also a free water bar in the lobby. You can drink tea and enjoy the scenery
Breakfast and dinner were both excellent. The explanations were very helpful. I would definitely stay here again

The building has an old feel to it, but maybe that's part of the charm? Next time I'd like to stay for several nights and relax
One of the staff (Ang Diki) showed us to our room and prepared a private Onsen for us. She also chased up with the bus company Lost and Found as my wife's watch had come off in the bus
It was not found but the effort was appreciated. Our room was large and comfortable with a massage chair. After a wonderful breakfast the next day we were taken back to the station. A great stay with excellent staff
This hotel has a very big yard surrounded by rooms and canteen. The lobby and canteen are decorated in classic European style with classic music always in the background. The room we stayed is awesome
The hotel is about 40 meters from the gate but the light went on immediately and we were greeted by one of the staff who welcomed us and our suitcases were whisked away to our rooms
We stayed here on a family trip. This inn has a sophisticated atmosphere. The floors were waxed, so it was almost embarrassing to walk on them in shoes

When we left, the owner went above and beyond to help us out and make sure that we made it down the mountain to our next stop (edo wonderland) in a timely manner. Can't recommend highly enough!
Very polite and welcoming staff, the dinner was very tasty and made with authentic Japanese ingredients. Overall, the buildings were very clean and the environment was nice. I would definitely recommend staying here.
We had and amazing time here! The staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable. The onsen was so refreshing after a long day of travel. We also loved the beautiful setting next to the lake
The dishes were not only delicious but also showcased the freshness and quality of the ingredients. It was truly a highlight of our trip. The view from the hotel was breathtaking
Wonderful! The staff was the highlight of this hotel. Attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and simply superb! Great location right across the lake and near the falls and shrines

The accommodation is great and the staff are lovely. You can leave your luggage both before check-in and after check-out. The facilities are complete, and tea and coffee are provided.
The restaurant overlooking the garden had a nice atmosphere. Dinner was a full course French meal served by foreign staff, so it had an exotic feel and a more authentic feel
Not bad for the price, the service is good, there are hot springs which are good for relieving fatigue after traveling.
Was a little far from the center of Nikko and traffic started backing up all the way to this hotel. Good thing is we rented bikes and rode into town thus bypassing all the traffic
Comfortable room and onsen. The staff is very kind.
Was very surprised about this place! A little bit far off so make sure to bring food for dinner. Otherwise, the onsen is very nice: You can sit inside and outside, the breakfast is decent, and staff are very helpful

They go out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of during your stay such as booking your shuttle each morning for drop off / pick-up from town, breakfast and dinner times. Meals are traditional Japanese
Stay here if you want to experience a traditional Japanese ryokan with the amenities of a larger hotel. This place deserves to be full all year around, but was very quiet when we visited, we couldn’t understand why
The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout our stay and made every effort to accommodate our needs. We really enjoyed the food, it was excellent as were all the catering staff.
Our Japanese-style room reservation (dinner + breakfast) was comprised of Kaiseki dinner either! (There was no notice about such a nice option when we booked the room
Moreover, it was the only onsen within 5 bus stops from Tobu-Nikko station (really convenient, if compared to ryokans in Kinugawa which takes one hour by train)
The only minor downsides are that coffee service in the morning starts a bit late, and the building itself is somewhat dated

This time we wanted a traditional experience and Iwaiyado Jyuan hit every mark! The Ryokan-Onsen is situated off a very small country road just a short walk from the train stop in Nikko
Indoor and outdoor hot tubs were amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. The hotel is nestled within mountains and the setting serene. Hotel is family owned and they take pride in caring for their guests
As you stroll along the quiet country road from the train stop to the inn, you are transported back in time and imagine being a merchant, warrior or weary traveler making your way from some faraway town to Edo
The mineral water is ALL natural, wonderfully hot and a soak after dinner prepares you for a peaceful nights rest in the large, quiet room. We had a Japanese room with beautiful tatami mats and futon beds
My booking also included breakfast and dinner which were always outstanding, beautifully prepared and unique food items. They utilized farm to table dining and the women explained each item served

On arrival I was met outside the hotel by a staff member who welcomed me and brought me into the lobby and introduced me to the reception staff who booked me in and informed me about the public bath and coffee bar area and told me about the hotel
I was surprised that it went beyond my expectations. The welcome drinks and snacks were awesome. My sister loved the mochi with strawberry. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and relatives.
I was then taken up to my room/apartment and showed around the apartment. I was taken back with the size of my room which was clean and very comfortable and soon got ready to go down for dinner
From Nikko, you will need to take another short train ride to Kinugawaonsen station, and the hotel will shuttle you from there (or it's a 12 minute walk)
The views are beautiful & you're a couple minutes walk to an AMAZING suspension bridge overlooking the gorge and mountains

If you look up, there's no end to it, but if you look down, you'll understand - a camp in a location with 400-year-old cedar trees. There are no convenience stores or supermarkets nearby, so it's refreshing
There was also a retro game-style washing machine along the way, which was surprisingly well-maintained considering its age. Best of all, there was even Wi-Fi. There was also a small sauna in the bath
Although the facility may have a sloppy feel to it, the rooms were kept clean and the air conditioning worked well and was comfortable. I felt soothed by the location, which is surrounded by nature.
At the entrance there was a swimming pool 🌊, tennis courts 🎾, cycling 🚴‍♂️, and dance classes 💃 - it was a well-equipped resort 😅 Time has passed since then, and now you often see the camp buses
At the entrance is the world's largest stag beetle 🥳 When it first opened, they even had TV commercials for it
🌠 The stars are beautiful, aren't they? There are flying squirrels and I think there are owls too

I used this hotel when I was traveling! I was told that there were a lot of mites, so I brought medicine just in case, but it wasn't that bad (individual results may vary)! What's more, the food was delicious 😋 The dining room is in a separate building, but it's spacious, so there's nothing to complain about ♪ Would I recommend it?
It's a nice, clean hotel, with very pleasant receptionists who explained everything in detail. The complimentary drinks offer a wide variety. One downside: a man came in the morning, even though it was only 9:40 a
It was close to Nikko Toshogu Shrine and the food was very delicious. I went with friends and everyone said it was ``really good'' and ``the best. '' The bath was also open 24 hours and had good hot water
This traditional hot spring inn offers excellent value for money. The first floor features a hot spring bath, a souvenir shop, a lounge, and free coffee and tea
Breakfast and dinner are delicious, but are the lights bright during mealtimes? It's noisy and there's no music, so it's a cafeteria, not a restaurant

Traveling alone, the soft cages and cat litter were provided, which was very helpful. Dinner was plentiful and everything was delicious! The waitress was a foreigner, but she was very polite and made a good impression
This was my first time staying at Kinugawa International Hotel during my trip to Kinugawa! Overall, it was great. I was traveling alone with my two dogs, a toy poodle and a munchkin, and had a comfortable stay
The dog run is indoors, but semi-outdoors, so a jacket is required, and the cats loved playing in the cat room! There were dog pictures and exhibits throughout the hotel, which was fun just to look at
I honestly loved this pet hotel. My dogs enjoyed every bit of it and loved sitting with us while we are. We were surprised how the food was so good. Thank you to the staff for making us feel at home
The hotel is old, but there are lots of cute dog paintings, ornaments, and decorations, which are very soothing. There is also a small museum, a dog run, and a cute souvenir corner

The location of the ryokan is also strategically located right behind the bus terminal and beside the walkway to a temple which lits up beautifully at night, even more especially when it's snowing
I hadn't given him advance request for dinner, but he still accommodated my request, and I'm so glad I did. Shabu-shabu, foil wrapped baked fish, and ice cream to finish it off? I was in heaven
The entire place was managed by a Japanese elder and a staff personnel. Although it is evident that the building isn't new, it was not dirty and it provided me with a cosy feeling
For breakfast, omurice and corn soup. Omurice isn't my favourite, but having someone prepare it specifically for you is different than going to a restaurant. I paid around 1800y total for dinner + breakfast
Although the bath (indoors) wasn't in the best condition, the water temperature was alright to satisfy me. The meals provided are definitely plenty and excellent in quality
His cat also came out to say hello, and gave me head rubs. I was luckier than some other reviewers with my onsen experience. Because I was the only one there, it made my experience much better

Located next to the river with an outdoor onsen that you can listen to the roar of the river. Breakfast and dinner are exquisitely presented. With new rice cooked over a slow fire in front of you
I think to some wanting to stay in Nikko might not realize that this is outside of the main town center but it’s so worth the extra train ride to go to this hotel/onsen after visiting the Nikko national park area
The price performance is exceptional. Hana no Yado is one of those small family owned Ryokan that still are the dreams of a Ryokan holiday. From the greeting at the door when we drove up
As other reviews stated there is the train station kinugawa koen you can take that is like a 2-5 min walk
To the sweets offered by the doorman when we left. An unforgettable stay that I should have gatekeep
It does feel a little dated but since we were looking for an authentic feel, we were more than happy with what we got! A retro 9-room hotel that felt like home. Yummy western-jap breakfast & dinner. They have fixed timings for breakfast & dinner as they need to serve all guests at the same time
You may book the onsen for a one-time private couple use but we felt that the onsen is not as good as those we went in other parts of Japan. We wasn't sure what was the temperature of the water
Love this small hotel, it's view is facing the lake. Location very near to the bus station. Room is clean bed is traditional bed, quite a big room. Staff is very friendly and helpful

I highly recommend it if you're looking for a quiet space and a unique travel experience. However, the downside is that it's an older pension, so the facilities are outdated
This lodge is run by a senior madam and is located about a 15-20 minute walk from the station. The rock bath was private (for 30 minutes). Our room faced the mountain so it was a little dark, but the bed was good
This is an old, outdated hotel, and its remote location can be a bit inconvenient, but it's not far from Nikko Station. This pension has three strong points: 1
They create a very warm and comfortable environment! The house looks a bit old, and there are some stone steps to walk up, which can be a bit tricky to carry large boxes
The facilities include a bathhouse (for single use, with a 30-minute limit on busy days) and a cafeteria (with breakfast and dinner included in the booking, the food is quite delicious, and there's a cafeteria with a certificate on the wall)
It's recommended to return to the guesthouse before sunset, as the mountain paths are not well lit, so you'll need a flashlight at night
