I was able to relax. I also went to the outdoor bath, but the indoor bath was the most relaxing. After the bath, I was able to enjoy alcohol, wine, coffee, ice cream, etc. while reading a book, which was great.

Nice and cosy Ryokan, with courteous staff that provides excellent service. We were welcomed at the hotel by several staff members, who were very kind to our family, and they made a lot of effort to serve us in English, which is very good for us foreigners. They provided a comprehensive review of the area, made arrangements for breakfast (we chose to have dinner elsewhere) and provided us complimentary tickets for the public hot springs. They also provide a hot spring for guests within the property, which is nice if you don't want to walk and still take a relaxing bath. The breakfast was very good, just keep in mind that this is traditional Japanese breakfast (fish, rice, tofu, etc). Finally, when checking out, they offered a shuttle service to the station, or to send our luggage to the ryokan service in front of the Kinosaki Onsen JR station for ¥50 the luggage piece. We took the second option to take a stroll before leaving, and conveniently picked up the bags before going to the station. Don't be concerned that this ryokan is not too close to the station. The service and cost benefit more than makes up for this minor detail, and the shuttle service from and to the train station makes the distance meaningless. Definitely recommend this place.
