Pension Country Diary in Yamanakako

Based on reviews mentioning the variety of wild birds that can be seen, I stayed here overnight before heading to Fuji Speedway, booking a room without meals.
It seems to be a guesthouse affiliated with the Wild Bird Society of Japan.
The interior had a nice atmosphere, like a cottage in a cold European region, and the scent of an old inn added to the relaxing ambiance.
Because a bird feeder was installed, various wild birds, squirrels, and even deer came to visit.
When I was there, I felt that the most numerous birds were the Varied Tits, and they often came within about 20cm of the window, so I would recommend it to Varied Tit lovers.
I watched them from the moment I woke up until I checked out!
If I have the opportunity to go to the Lake Yamanaka area again, I would like to stay here again.

In any case, it's a must-visit for bird lovers. Wild birds come one after another to the water area that can be seen from the lounge.

A lovely pension in the forest with lots of small birds in the garden.

We stayed on the Saturday, the first day of a three-day weekend in September. There were no other guests and we had the pension to ourselves, so we were able to relax very comfortably.
There were wild deer in the surrounding forest, wild birds came to play at the pension, and a variety of flowers bloomed in the garden, so we were surrounded by beautiful nature.
The bath had a jet? or perhaps a circulation system? and there were two washing areas, which were very clean.
One thing that bothered me was the moldy smell outside the room. It smelled like an old house. I was also a bit bothered by the dim lighting.
It was also nice that you only had to communicate with the pension staff when checking in and out.
