The hotel looks a bit old inside but it's been recently refurbished.
Since I wanted to make the most of Rebun, I decided to book for 5 nights. I had no other choice but to reserve a bedroom with breakfast and dinner included. Also, the price for one person was the same as for 2. So in the end it was very pricey.
I chose the least expensive type of bedroom, with no view, but it wasn't an issue.
If I'd had the choice I wouldn't have taken the dinner option, but I eventually realised there were not so many restaurants on Rebun, and they closed early. Having a nice buffet waiting for you after a day of hiking was nice. The food in itself was good and the evening meal included drinks, which also accounts for the price. After 3 days, I was given a different meal from the other guests, and a table close to the window was kept for me. That was really thoughtful! The staff told me that they didn't want me to have the same dinner every day and I really appreciated the gesture. I was served traditional and local dishes from Hokkaido, on a lovely tray.
I'm not sharing any photos but those you can see on the website are reliable. The view from the restaurant was amazing. My bedroom was a bit old, with cigarette marks on the tatami mats. You could also smell the bedroom had been a smoking room in the past!
The sento was big and there were several baths at different temperatures.
A nice stay overall (in July 2025).

This is one of the more upscale hotels on the island, very close to the harbor and the observation deck trail, offering a great spot for photographing Mount Rishiri across the water.

A very comfortable Japanese-style inn. The rooms are spacious, with sofas in addition to tatami mats. The restaurant faces Rishiri Island. We had breakfast there, enjoying the view of Mount Fuji over the sea. Although the peak was partially obscured by clouds, it was still very pleasant. The hotel provides a shuttle bus to the pier; we walked there, which took less than 10 minutes, very convenient. The hotel has a hot spring bath on the second floor, with views of the island's ring road from the windows.

Today I stayed at the Rebun Kanko Hotel Sakuryo, located near the ferry terminal on Rebun Island.
The hotel is extremely clean.
It was also very well-maintained, which was great.
There is a large public bath, a bath in the room, and an open-air bath.
There is a restaurant, but the Seico Mart convenience store is about a 5-minute drive away. I think it would take about 15 minutes on foot.
Unfortunately, the rooms are a little old and the sofas are uncomfortable.
However, it was formerly a Mitsui Kanko Hotel, so it's a nice hotel.
I would like to stay here again.

The location is near the pier, so you can see the boats as soon as you disembark. The buffet breakfast and dinner are of good quality. There are many narrow streets in Rei-man and Birishiri, so drive carefully, but overall it's a good place. 👍

This modern hotel is located in the Kafuka Port area of Rebun Island, within walking distance of Kafuka Pier. The hotel is newly renovated, and most staff members can speak English (even those who can't speak it can understand it). Communication is smooth, and they greet guests proactively. Kafuka Port is right outside the hotel, and Rishiri Fuji is directly opposite, offering beautiful views. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the air conditioning is adequate in the summer. Breakfast is a Japanese buffet, featuring local specialties such as squid sashimi, overnight dried squid, and Rishiri kelp. The hotel also has a large hot spring bath with indoor and heated pools, as well as an open-air bath.

I originally chose this hotel on Rebun Island primarily because of its excellent location, close to the pier and very convenient transportation. The room views were also outstanding, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the magnificent Mount Rishiri. The hotel's onsen facilities were excellent, and the food was of a high standard; the overall accommodation environment was highly anticipated.

Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, I was unable to make the trip and had to cancel my reservation. The hotel was very understanding and proactively assisted me with a free cancellation; their sincere service made me feel very warm. This thoughtfulness and understanding alone has left a deep impression on me. I will definitely book again next year, hoping to personally experience the natural beauty of Rebun Island and the hotel's excellent service.

The room was quite spacious. It's a bit far from the port, but the hotel was very thoughtful and sent someone to pick you up from the port and help with your luggage (a pleasant surprise even without a reservation). They also offer morning shuttle service (reservations are required when there are many guests). There were Chinese-speaking staff at the front desk, making communication easy. The hotel's sea view was beautiful; enjoying the view while dining was very relaxing, and the breakfast was also quite good. The bathtub area was quite large, but the non-slip mat on the floor was too small and not neatly arranged (I didn't realize it was a bit thick). I slipped and fell, hitting the glass – a minor safety hazard.

There are very few hotel options on the island. This one was originally owned by the Mitsui Group, but it had been converted into a hotel under another group when I went, which was quite disappointing. The island is still very beautiful, but you absolutely must have good weather; if it's foggy, you can't see anything.

Convenient transportation, just a few minutes' walk from the port.
The hotel also offers a free shuttle bus, but advance reservations are required.
The hotel used to be the Mitsui Hotel, but has changed its name.
The large public bath is nice, directly facing Mount Rishiri Fuji.
You can soak in the hot spring while enjoying the view of Mount Rishiri Fuji. Weekday prices are reasonable.
Highly recommended.
