Ryokan Yamaichi in Wakkanai

Excellent Hospitality by the host 👍 Very nice and quiet place to enjoy the holiday.

Recommend to stay here when you are in Wakkanai, Hokkaido.

5 mins (100 metres) walk to the local market.

20 mins (1.2km) walk to the JR Station.

The sashimi was fresh, the tempura stayed crispy even when cold, the simmered fish (Atka mackerel) was delicious, the hairy crab had tasty miso, and rice refills were free. The variety of dishes reminded me of Captain Saroma's house. It was amazing that all this cost just over 10,000 yen per person. I think the price of the accommodation was insane. The children were also delighted with the same menu. We enjoyed even the leftovers. There was a huge amount of food.

And the miso soup at breakfast (forgot to take a picture) was also incredibly delicious. The shumai dumplings were also good, with thick, flavorful meat.

The location is great, making it a good base for sightseeing in Wakkanai. The landlady is very kind, and the inn has a very homey feel. I highly recommend it.

There's no large public bath, but there's a wonderful hot spring facility nearby, so we used that and didn't feel any inconvenience.

Stayed here while on a motorcycle tour.
It's more of a business hotel or business inn, and if you add dinner it feels like a business inn with a luxurious dinner included.
We stayed on a weekday in mid-October, and most of the guests were there for work.

The simmered cod (?) for dinner was excellent. We couldn't finish it because we ate a large portion of curry after 2pm, but I think even just the simmered cod, vinegared dish, rice, miso soup and sake would make a very satisfying meal.

The parking lot is mostly gravel, but there are many solid stones and it doesn't feel like your motorcycle will tip over.

I heard that their seafood dinner was amazing, so I stayed here during my camping trip to Rebun Island. The rooms were clean, and the bath was also clean. There's a Secoma convenience store within walking distance. Above all, I was impressed by the luxurious seafood feast for dinner, which even included hairy crab – truly a food fighter's dream! I heard they're having trouble finding a successor, but I sincerely hope they can continue operating for many years to come!

It feels like an old-fashioned inn, but the rooms, toilets, and baths seem to have been renovated and are clean and easy to use. In particular, the bath is open 24 hours a day and the bathtub is spacious. However, each person locks the door one by one, so you have to check the timing before entering. I had a light course for dinner, but it was enough. Ordinary women may not be able to eat it all. Even if this comes with crab or octopus shabu, I don't think anyone who isn't an athletic young person will be able to finish it all. The rice is also delicious. Cold sake is Otokoyama limited to Wakkanai. You can drink this easily like water. There is no air conditioning in the room, but the temperature drops at night so you can sleep well. The parking lot doesn't have a roof, so it might be difficult to bike on a rainy day.

The location is great. The food and drinks are generous and delicious. The only pity is that the quadruple room on the first floor is not non-smoking.

Although it is an old inn overall, it feels clean.The elevators are also inspected by the manufacturer, so you can rest assured.The food is better in both breakfast and dinner than in a hotel of the same price!You can taste delicious tako-shabu.You can also park your car the next day.
