1stly, there seemed to be a communication break between Trip.com and Goshobessho, as our dinner instruction was not passed on. And was not informed there is a 3-days advance notice requirement to make dinner reservation. Ended up we had to make do with what's available at other restaurants in Arima.
Both breakfast and dinner choices should have been listed more clearly in Trip.com.

Simply the best stay in Japan. Will go back for sure.
I won't dwell on the ambiance, as my particular room didn't have the issue of a slightly sagging mattress. However, after using the private onsen only twice and a short-haired woman washing her hair once, the bathroom drain clogged, with water pooling about 3 cm high. It almost overflowed into the cold sauna area. When I checked out and reported it, all I got was an apology. Additionally, there's a...
This place is absolutely stunning! I highly recommend it, even though it's on the pricier side. The staff were simply exceptional. They welcome you like cherished guests and bid you farewell with the same warmth. The nine-course dinner was absolutely delicious! We stayed in a private villa, complete with its own onsen. Everything was spotless, well-maintained, and equipped with all the necessary amenities...
The overall environment is very good, but there is no outdoor swimming pool and the price is expensive

The room was generally clean. It was a shame that there were burn marks on the tatami mats, even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room (probably the fault of the smokers), but there was no smell, so it was fine. I wanted to sleep well, but the window only had a shoji screen, so it was too bright and I had to wake up. Also, I could hear quite a bit of noise from the next room, which was bothersome
The hotel staff was very kind and helpful. The suite was spacious
Love the location very close to the center and public transport. Onsen is very clean .. definitely book a room with the onsen in the room, solo traveler can reserved a private time on schedule. The hostess is very helpful and speak English .. at night the security lock the front door please take note of the number to help you get in . Have a nice stay 😉
Great little hotel with very friendly staff.
Excellent value with free natural Spa (hot water with healing powers emerging from the ground) and an excellent Japanese breakfast (see picture). A few minutes' walk from the bullet train station.
Highly recommended.
I wish the price was a little cheaper since it was just a room without meals. Other than that I am satisfied.
I live in Osaka and go to family trip in kobe and reserve hotel Isago and hotel Isago facilities and accommodation is very good and next time also come to visiting time I will stay in hotel Isago kobe

excellent onsen hotel! despite its difficult location, they provide shuttle service probably from anywhere around arima station (but you gotta have a JP phone number and you speak japanese).
the hotel is beautiful. combined modern and traditional wooden japanese style. once checked in, they serve welcome drink and snacks at the lounge and immediately we felt ourselves in another world. very relaxing...
Pleasant stay. French style dining was impressive.
The hotel waiters are very nice! But the location is a bit bad and the room does not have a shower room! The meal was extremely delicious! Driving is okay!
During the trip to Kansai, I experienced the legendary Arima Onsen. I chose the Japanese-style room package of Zicui with one night and two meals. I can only say that my expectations were too high, which led to a gap in the experience. The cost was close to 1,500 per person per night. The room was nice and new, but there was no shower room, which was a bit inconvenient.
The bath area was on the underground...
The environment is very good, very comfortable, and the service is good. The only thing is that it is not close to a convenience store. If you want to buy snacks, you have to buy them in advance before checking in.
Although the facilities are old, they are clean and tidy. The hotel environment is very elegant, one night stay and two meals, the food is very rich and tastes great. The hotel staff is enthusiastic and has a good sense of service.

A heartwarming and thoughtful mountain hotel experience.
This hotel stay completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt a deep sense of genuine hospitality – there was a dedicated shuttle service directly from the station to the hotel, saving me the hassle of dragging my luggage around.
The next day, I planned to explore the hot spring town at the foot of the mountain. The...
Hanamusubi Ryokan has been our favorite place when we plan our trip to Osaka region. We always book the same room with our private onsen so we can soak ourselves unlimited times a day while enjoying their cuisine both in the evenings and mornings in our room. Although we see some minor changes in their overall operation, their standards of service remain high and we couldn't be more satisfied during...
The hotel has very attentive and friendly staff. The onsen is very pleasant. The rooms are atmospheric. The hotel has all the necessary services. Next time I would like to spend more time at this hotel.
The service was very attentive. The only thing is that the bathhouse switches between male and female sections daily, and I almost walked into the women's bath while looking down at my phone.
The hotel staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. They even arranged for a car to pick us up from the station. Our rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, and fully equipped. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles, and the Japanese cuisine offered was rich and diverse.
The room with in-room onsen is quite small, and the onsen stops at 22:00, which means we cannot use it after that time.

This ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) is a bit older, with a very traditional Japanese style. The staff are all very enthusiastic and patient, doing their best to answer any questions you have. My only minor complaint is that the room entrance is a bit low; anyone over 180cm might easily bump their head on the doorframe. I suggest improving that. The hot springs are especially good, with the 'Golden...
It’s the second time staying in this onsen. It’s overall good. We stayed over the weekend and the onsen was very crowded. Other than that, it was great.
Located in a hot spring town, I visited on a weekday, so it was pleasantly uncrowded. The ambiance was incredibly pleasant, and the soak was wonderfully relaxing. I'd love to go back for another soak!
Very beautiful hotel with good location. Friendly staffs and good food.
A truly classic Japanese onsen hotel. The service, cuisine, and onsen were all absolutely outstanding! I'm already thinking about a return visit when the weather gets a bit cooler. The surrounding area only features a small onsen town to explore, but the real charm of this place lies in enjoying the delicious food, relaxing in the onsen, and getting a truly restful sleep.
Chorakuen Ryokan is a truly traditional Japanese inn, with all rooms featuring tatami mat flooring. The ryokan boasts excellent onsen baths, and both the Kinsen (Gold Spring) and Ginsen (Silver Spring) were a delight to soak in. They also provide Chinese-speaking staff, and every employee was incredibly polite, always greeting guests with a bow. The kaiseki dinner we had ordered was absolutely delicious...

Lovely traditional style inn, with onsen.
We really loved our stay. The host was great, everything was clean and cozy. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay very much.
The owner was very welcoming! The balcony view was great, it had a real Japanese town vibe from the era of sake breweries! ❤️❤️❤️
Pros: Clean, although everything is ancient, located next to the bus station. The blankets are warm.
Cons: The onsen is terrible!!!!! Everything is moldy, the basement stinks, slime. We couldn't even go inside.
We went to a neighboring hotel, everything was clean and nice there.
Cold!
My back fell off the futons, my neck fell off the pillows.
A very cool, authentic ryokan. Great location. Large rooms with private bathrooms. All rooms are clean and have everything you need. You can sit on the balcony and breathe in the fresh air. The ryokan has its own mineral springs, so you can relax without leaving the room. The breakfast was delicious. This was my first time at a hotel like this, and I loved everything. The owners are very nice. Tattoos...
A traditional Japanese-style hotel, conveniently located on a tourist street in Arima. Unfortunately, the onsen is unsightly, with mold everywhere. There's no shower in the room.

Great place and experience if you wanna try a ryokan. Eating kaiseki and sleeping on a futon. Also it was pretty big room with a nice view loggia.
For the onsens, I did like the left opened one of a gin water. Although they are switched for male and female thrice a day.
It is not necessary to leave it during the day, but if you want to have a stroll, there is Rokko mountain near around.
Nice traditional ryokan with hospitable staff in a convenient location close to Arima onsen. Everything’s was great, however if you’re sensitive to sound and are staying on the ground floor, you will hear noise from the room upstairs.
We wanted authentic experience in traditional japanese hotel and this place was a perfect match.
It is located within walking distance from center of the village and it was really calm and quiet.
Staff was super friendly and eager to make our stay comfortable. Hotel also provides yukatas.
The dinner is a must-have in this place, and was one of the highlights of our trip. Be prepared for a real...
It was our first ryokan experience and it was absolutely stunning. There are a few rooms in ryokan and we were the only guests for that night. The room was very spacious and had tiny cute details. Onsen and kaiseki dinner became absolute favorites. The dinner and breakfast were served in our room that added intimacy to the process. Everything was delicious.
The ryokan team was super friendly and ready...
Very nice little place not far from the village centre, quiet and comfortable. We loved the experience of the traditional meals and sleeping on the tatami (best sleep ever!). The hot baths were really hot but very enjoyable, especially since we were lucky to have them all to ourselves.
True hot spring experience! Authentic Japanese food and exact ryokan

This was my favorite hotel during my trip to Japan. The elegant and pleasant environment, the golden hot springs, and the kaiseki cuisine were all unforgettable. The attention to detail in the service made me feel completely relaxed and happy. It was a truly memorable time, and I will definitely choose this onsen hotel again if I have the chance.
absolutely beautiful~
Nice service
Quite and comfortable
Cleanliness: The room had bugs; I killed 3 on the first night.
Service: The service was very thoughtful. They helped carry luggage into the room and even set up the tatami. At check-out, they proactively helped take luggage to the front desk.
Facilities: It's a very old wooden house. You can't make loud noises at night, as it genuinely disturbs others.
Environment: It's very close to Arima Onsen Station...
This was our first experience, our first time at an onsen and ryokan. The hot springs were superb. The room was Japanese-style. Dinner and breakfast were also new to us.
Had such an amazing experience at this ryokan! Everything was wonderful - the room, the service, the onsen and the dinner. Highly recommend! There was a brief misunderstanding at check-in, but resolved in no time. The staff is amazing!
The hotel staff provided incredibly attentive and thoughtful service, and the rooms were well-appointed and very comfortable. The Japanese aesthetic was beautifully reflected throughout the architecture, rooms, dining, and service, making for a truly fantastic experience. Its location is also superb, being very close to both bus and subway stations, which makes shopping incredibly convenient.
