We had a wonderful stay here. The Osen, facilities , services were good however the room setup lighting would need some upgrade for better ambience & mood on such a nice setting & locations as it does not have cove effect, dimming or warm light.

The price/performance ratio is extremely low. The hotel facilities are the lowest among all the places I have visited in Japan. I highly do not recommend it. 5000+ for three people a night, the shuttle bus will not come to pick you up until after 3 o'clock. Chinese-speaking staff at check-in and during meals were a definite plus. This hotel offers great value for money, with spacious榻榻米 rooms. The rooftop onsen, featuring both gold and silver baths, was a fantastic experience. The price included both breakfast and dinner, and the meals were very traditional Japanese; some dishes were delicious, while others weren't quite to my taste.

The onsen is smaller but the effect I guess is better . Also they provide all the amenties generously like shampoo shower gel hair treatment facial milk etc .

The service of the staff is superb and way beyond expectation.  I noticed that the yugata for my wife is men’s size and my slipper is women’s size. A truly classic Japanese onsen hotel. The service, cuisine, and onsen were all absolutely outstanding! I'm already thinking about a return visit when the weather gets a bit cooler. Chorakuen Ryokan is a truly traditional Japanese inn, with all rooms featuring tatami mat flooring. Excellent hotel ryokan built and with interior from the late 90's/ early 00's. The hotel has great private baths (note that they are only hot water, not mineral water) and shared mineral water pools. This was our first experience, our first time at an onsen and ryokan. The hot springs were superb. The room was Japanese-style. Dinner and breakfast were also new to us.

The staff at the counter speak fluent English and are very friendly, and are very willing to help tourists solve problems.

Arima-cho is a very small village, mainly known for its various hot springs. This hotel offers both public and private hot springs. You can just go to the public hot spring directly, while you need to make a reservation for the private hot spring.

The room was generally clean. It was a shame that there were burn marks on the tatami mats, even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room (probably the fault of the smokers), but there was no smell, so it was fine. I wanted to sleep well, but the window only had a shoji screen, so it was too bright and I had to wake up. Also, I could hear quite a bit of noise from the next room, which was bothersome

Great little hotel with very friendly staff. Excellent value with free natural Spa (hot water with healing powers emerging from the ground) and an excellent Japanese breakfast (see picture). A few minutes' walk from the bullet train station. Highly recommended.

I was really impressed by the attention to detail at Arima Hot Spring Ryokan Hanamusubi. The team made a real effort to handle dietary requests properly, which I appreciated, and the room escort with a clear onsen explanation made everything feel easy from the start. It felt thoughtful and well organized throughout my stay.

It was written on the website that it was an open-air bath with a view of the mountains and the Arima cityscape, but the fence of the open-air bath was too high to see outside. It is a little cheaper than other hot springs, so I asked for it, but the amenities were great. There are two kinds of hot water, it is not small and there is plenty of parking, so it is easy to access.

An old hotel with very few hot spring pools, you can count them on one hand. The overall comfort level is just average. However, the service is impeccable; all the staff are friendly, helpful, and readily assist with any request.

We stayed at Negiya Ryofukaku in Arima Onsen during the maple leaf season, opting for the West Wing's deluxe Japanese-Western mixed room with a mountain view. Like the quaint yet very elaborate ryokan style of living. The onsen may not be as big and fancy as in noboribetsu but it is still comfortable. I subscribed to their dinner and breakfast which was pretty good. I definitely live the wooden bathtub in my room. They have shuttle services to and from Arima Onsen region. The only complain I have is the weak wifi.

Excellent place to experience traditional Japanese living.  To avoid difficulties with getting to the hotel you should take a bus at Shin-Kobe station before darkness. This bus will take you to the bus stop at Arima, it’s 600 m away from hotel.

Spacious hotel room, we had the twinbed option. It's lazy but effectively renovated, so the bathroom is nice and the air condition, just the carpet still reminds you of the old days.

Having not visited Kobe before I assumed that Kobe station would be the place to stay to access the sights, I now know that I should have stayed near Sannomiya station for this. The area around Kobe station is much quieter but has very easy access to Harbour Land, the station is easy to get to and the hotel only 1 street from the station. During the trip to Kansai, I experienced the legendary Arima Onsen. I chose the Japanese-style room package of Zicui with one night and two meals. I can only say that my expectations were too high, which led to a gap in the experience. The cost was close to 1,500 per person per night. Great place and experience if you wanna try a ryokan. Eating kaiseki and sleeping on a futon. Also it was pretty big room with a nice view loggia. For the onsens, I did like the left opened one of a gin water. Although they are switched for male and female thrice a day. It is not necessary to leave it during the day, but if you want to have a stroll, there is Rokko mountain near around.

Very nice little place not far from the village centre, quiet and comfortable. We loved the experience of the traditional meals and sleeping on the tatami (best sleep ever!). The hot baths were really hot but very enjoyable, especially since we were lucky to have them all to ourselves.
