This ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) is a bit older, with a very traditional Japanese style. The staff are all very enthusiastic and patient, doing their best to answer any questions you have. My only minor complaint is that the room entrance is a bit low; anyone over 180cm might easily bump their head on the doorframe. I suggest improving that. The hot springs are especially good, with the 'Golden Spring' and 'Silver Spring' swapping daily. After soaking in the Golden Spring, my skin felt amazing the next day! I also really loved the outdoor bath. I'd definitely go again! 👍

It’s the second time staying in this onsen. It’s overall good. We stayed over the weekend and the onsen was very crowded. Other than that, it was great.

Located in a hot spring town, I visited on a weekday, so it was pleasantly uncrowded. The ambiance was incredibly pleasant, and the soak was wonderfully relaxing. I'd love to go back for another soak!

A truly classic Japanese onsen hotel. The service, cuisine, and onsen were all absolutely outstanding! I'm already thinking about a return visit when the weather gets a bit cooler. The surrounding area only features a small onsen town to explore, but the real charm of this place lies in enjoying the delicious food, relaxing in the onsen, and getting a truly restful sleep.

Chorakuen Ryokan is a truly traditional Japanese inn, with all rooms featuring tatami mat flooring. The ryokan boasts excellent onsen baths, and both the Kinsen (Gold Spring) and Ginsen (Silver Spring) were a delight to soak in. They also provide Chinese-speaking staff, and every employee was incredibly polite, always greeting guests with a bow. The kaiseki dinner we had ordered was absolutely delicious. Overall, a fantastic experience!

Right as I stepped out of the subway station, I was lucky enough to catch the hotel's shuttle bus. The driver already had the list of guests checking in that day. Our hotel room was incredibly spacious, and the service was truly impeccable. The Kaiseki dinner we had ordered was exceptionally fresh and delicious. The hotel also features a traditional *kominka* (old Japanese house), which is said to be a lovely tea room. However, you do need to make an advance reservation at the front desk. Both the Kin-no-yu (Golden Spring) and Gin-no-yu (Silver Spring) were absolutely fantastic. Despite having a scabbed-over leg injury, I couldn't resist taking a dip in the hot springs. To my surprise, my wound showed no ill effects whatsoever.

The room felt quite dated, and the low ceilings made it seem a bit small. Overall, it was just an average room. We dined in the room, which led to lingering food smells, and the food quality was also pretty standard, nothing special. The service, however, was excellent. We had a front desk staff member who was Shanghainese, so communicating in Chinese was effortless, and they even assisted us with booking a bus.

This is a very spacious Japanese onsen ryokan, which seems to be quite popular with local Japanese guests. We ordered the seasonal kaiseki dinner, and it was incredibly authentic, featuring fresh ingredients and truly exquisite flavors. Our Japanese-style room offered beautiful views upon opening the window. The onsen baths were exceptionally clean, featuring both 'Gold Spring' and 'Silver Spring' varieties. What was particularly interesting is that the men's and women's baths switch daily, providing a fresh and varied experience. Both the indoor and outdoor settings, and their overall ambiance, contributed to a wonderfully pleasant mood. While it was a bit on the pricier side, it was absolutely excellent value for money.
