Kobe Luminous Hotel Sannomiya, Kobe1 / 26

Kobe, 92 Edomachi, Chuo, 650-0033 Kobe, Prefektura Hyogo, Yaponiya (in the centre) 🧭 Map
This is my favorite hotel in Kobe, and I stayed here for 4 consecutive nights. Every detail was high-quality and it was excellent value for money. It's the only hotel in Kobe where I'd want to stay again. They even updated their bath bombs from powder to effervescent ones!
Very good location for shopping around. There are many luxury stores and a brand new Human made shop nearby here.
Had a great stay here! The location is perfect—super close to Sannomiya Station, which made getting around a breeze. The room was nice and spacious, really comfortable. The area is safe and quiet at night, so I could actually get a good night's sleep, which is so important when traveling. Highly recommend!
The hotel is a bit old, but it's clean and comfortable, and convenient for getting around with a supermarket right across the street. The room was a bit small; I was just there for a weekend trip with no luggage, but it might not be ideal if you have a big suitcase as there wouldn't be much space to open it.
Very nice hotel, will definitely stay again. room is very new and well equipped.
I found the rooms surprisingly spacious and comfortable for Japan, easily accommodating my needs with great lighting and bedding. I was impressed by the excellent cleanliness and appreciated the professional, English-speaking staff who helped me with local tips and luggage. While I enjoyed the convenient facilities like the private bath areas and free amenities, I did notice some areas where the hotel...

Very satisfied. The location is super convenient, and the environment is comfortable. The room size was perfect for one person. A pleasant experience overall!
Very good hotel in service, location, cleaniness, amenitirs, it locates at the center of samnoniya station
Great to stay beside the scenery
The staff were all very friendly, and the view was also excellent with great facilities. The only downside was that the hotel room was too small; once you opened a suitcase, it was impossible to move around, especially with two suitcases, which was quite a hassle. Downstairs, there's a subway station and a shopping street, which is very convenient, but it can also be quite noisy due to the subway.
no coin laundry is a slight inconvenient. location is great with a large supermarket with eating area right at the station basement below. near cafes and eateries
Convenient location, with a spacious room. Comfy stay overall! Will consider returning to this hotel again.

room was abit small , not much space for luggages , location is good and hotel is clean, next to hotel has a car park , morning is expensive , after 8pm is 1000yen
Fantastic location, and the front desk offers a great selection of toiletries. My only minor complaint is that the hallway was a bit narrow when opening my suitcase. Otherwise, no real downsides. It's also great value for money. I'd definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.
This was the last hotel we stayed at during our trip to Japan, and it exceeded my expectations. It offered great value for money, and the surrounding transportation was incredibly convenient. The location was very easy to find, with a shopping street just across the road and plenty of good food options nearby. Although the room was a bit small, it was very clean and had all the necessary amenities...
Service: Great service! You can even order room service, like the BBQ pork rice. Amenities: Very comprehensive, everything you'd typically want in a room is there. It's also super close to the convention center, so you can easily walk there and back. Cleanliness: The comforter had a slight oily smell, hmm, but it's acceptable. Overall, it's a pretty good value for money hotel.
Highly recommend the Daiwa Roynet Kobe-Sannomiya! The hotel is brand new and spotless. The twin room was spacious, and the beds could be combined, offering excellent value for comfort. The surrounding city architecture is stunning, making it a much more pleasant stay than being right in the bustling Sannomiya Station area.
Strategic location and impeccable service. Room is compact with bathtub. Will recommend

Service attitude of staff is not good especially bell boy
The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and generous. The onsen was a new experience! Sheraton scrubbed up to what we expected. 5 stars!
The hotel is located in a quiet and safe area. The breakfast selection is good and I liked the good coffee and it was a bonus as they provided paper cup so you can consume your coffee in the comfort of your room. Will recommend friends to stay in this nice and clean hotel.
Only problem is breakfast.  In typical Japanese fashion, they make you wiatbevwn though there are plenty of seats.   If it's manpower problem, divert resources in the morning.  Wait can sometimes be an hour.  Ridiculous
Good location. Global standard customer service.
A bit out of the way to main attractions as it’s on Rokko island but the direct bus to the airport made it worthwhile. The breakfast was ok but seems to be always running out of food due to the high number of guests. In room service was decent but expensive. Onsite onsen was good but crowded!

Parking is opposite the hotel (Deb parking), need to get the parking ticket and pass it to the hotel reception for payment. Pretty convenient, there is starbucks just next door, chinatown is nearby, walkable distance to kobe port. Room is comparatively spacious compared to usual rooms we stayed in Japan.
The room was fairly clean, just a bit too small. The location is convenient, right in the city center. However, for nearly 700, I don't feel it's very good value for money.
Switched from Dormy Inn, which is 150m away, and this place exceeded my expectations! The free coffee and snacks were a fantastic bonus, the service was great, and the location is excellent. I'll definitely stay here again next time.
great location. parking few mins walk away though. amenities is good. room is clean. near to major locations.
The twin room was a bit small, but luckily I only had a 24-inch suitcase so it could lie flat. The hotel's location is fantastic, right next to Nankin-machi. Motomachi shopping street and BAL department store are also nearby. The bus back to Kansai Airport is just a 15-minute walk away. Staying a few days in Kobe is truly relaxing with fewer crowds.
The hotel is right across from Daimaru Department Store, with many luxury and trendy brands in the vicinity, making it incredibly convenient for shoppers. Sannomiya Station is also a manageable walk, taking about 10 minutes. The room isn't large, but it's spotlessly clean. There's enough floor space to comfortably open your suitcase. Beer garden was great! Not only 1 kind of beer but they had Asahi, Kirin, Stout and even Peroni which Italian beer! OMG. Food was also enough for the price! Love here!
Very conveniently located next to JR Amagasaki Station and large shopping mall. Spacious room and good service
This is not a 5 star hotel so if you are looking for that then look elsewhere. HOWEVER!!! if you are looking for a hotel outside of Umeda right near a train station that will get you to Umeda in ~10 Mins or so, this is it. Due to a change in plans, I booked this last minute. The hotel is 40 minutes away from Sannomiya subway station, so the travel time cost is quite high. The facilities are a bit old. The staff's attitude was okay.
Beyond amazing in every way. The staff was accommodating and I loved the laundry service that had my shirts pressed for me.
Hotel is quite old style but spacious. Breakfast is good. Carpark space is enough and there are many restaurants in the hotel building.
Great hotel that provides a huge room, amazing service, and a great breakfast. The only shortcoming is that it’s really far from the city centre. You will need to spend about 30 minutes on the train to go downtown.
Convenient for a business trip in Kobe. Very close to a main train station. There is a swimming pool available to hotel guests, but unfortunately, the information pertaining to the use of the pool was absent, so I did not bring a swim suit and was very disappointed. Ample room space and working amenities. It's just a short walk from Amagasaki station and have plenty of convenience shops and restaurants around the area for a late night meal. The single room had a big bed, and enough lights that isn't blindingly bright. Heated toilet seats with a bidet and bathtub. The small downside is that it faces the local fire station. The service of the hotel is really nice. It just a few stop to USJ and expo. If you are a budget traveler looking for cozy hotel in amagasaki, this must be a good one!
The room was a little dated, but there were no particular issues with using it. I don't think there was an option to select a check-in time on trip.com, but for some reason the hotel had set it to 18:00. As of 14:30, the room was not ready and I was unable to check in, so those who want to check in early should be aware of this. (My room was ready for me at 17:00)
Great experience with clean room, polite staff and grateful catering. Delicious breakfast make our journey fruitfully!

Compared to Kyoto, the Monterey in Kobe offers much better service. Sona is quite small, and lately, there's been too much of a Korean presence there. Although the hotel is a short walk from the station, it's still easy to find. There is indeed a red-light district nearby, making it a bit noisy and messy (though understandable). The room layout is reasonable, the TV supports screen mirroring, and the...
Getting to the hotel from Osaka Airport was quite convenient. We took a bus from stop 6 to Sannomiya, Kobe, and it was about a seven-minute walk from there. A one-way ticket was 2200 yen, and a round-trip was 3700 yen, so we opted for the round-trip. The hotel is located near Ikuta Shrine, which made it very easy to find with navigation. It’s an older hotel with a Western architectural style, and the...
Excellent location, just a five-minute walk from the JR station. Lots of great food options nearby. The hotel service is nice, and they offer free self-service drinks. The room is spacious, and there's a private hot spring bath, which is a big plus for privacy. You need a key card to access your floor.
Good location. Very accessible to food and shopping by walking. Room is big and quiet. Have parking bay.
Kobe is a beautiful city, and I've stayed at several Hotel Monterreys in Japan, all of which have been great. This one also has a good location.
The room was spacious! Although a bit old, it was very clean. Check-in was at 3 PM, and we were able to store our luggage in advance. The only minor inconvenience was an uphill walk to the hotel. Out of the three hotels we stayed at, I'd recommend this one. It's close to the main street, and especially nice to have a clean public hot spring bath – it was really relaxing.

Poor parking experience. Basement parking has no instruction to reach hotel reception. The free parking arrangement is not friendly. The facilities are old fashioned, and renovation is needed. English speaking visitors may find difficulties in communicating with the front desk staff.
arrived late, so stayed here for a night before we embark our vacation proper. Carpark was easy to find, supermarket below good for some food shopping and convenience store also nearby.
I stayed at Hotel Plaza Kobe recently and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel’s location is great — easily accessible and in a quiet, convenient part of Kobe. According to guests, the location scores 8.4/10
The whole place needs a serious upgrade. Everything is old and tired. The location is good, the place is clean and the staff were polite but it felt like stepping back in time and not in a good way. They use old keys and only one key per room, carpet is tired, the toilet was slow to flush, beds were hard and the furniture needs replacing.
The room we booked wasn’t as shown in the pictures, we booked after checking the prices and pictures. But after talking to the staff, they moved us to the room that was in the pictures. The breakfast was excellent! And the views and location are great. Just be careful when checking the pictures the rooms might be different with what you choose.
Not close to the Kobe city and decoration is old. But the price is reasonable. Hotel's buffet breakfast makes me surprised, there are many food for selection and delicious. Good stay for self driving person, good.

Really good, big room and free lounge access for snacks and drinks
The location is good. But the room is not clear at all, I saw a pair of socks under the bed which is not mine, and so many dust.
The location is fantastic, just in front of motomachi station. The room is spacius and the bed is comfortable. They have smart tv which is good.
The experience staying at the kobe plaza hotel was amazing! The staffs were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was okay. Could use some improvements, but still nice. The 3rd floor lounge was so cozy and accessible. ☺️
Great location, lots of shops and restaurants. Very convenient. Hotel was very clean, providing free coffee, fruit juice and ice lolly in the lobby.
Few mins from Motomachi Station, and also 10 mins walks from Sannomiya Station. Nothing for negative reviews. But just only breakfast room. There is only one elevator to get through. The Superior Double Room’s room size is not tiny. I really appreciate it.

Excellent hotel, all facilities are very well maintained. It has that classic old-money vibe, very high-class.
Both the service and facilities at this hotel are top-notch. The location is also excellent. Anyone who enjoys hot springs should definitely give it a try!
Absolutely amazing, especially for a family trip! This is definitely my kid's favorite hotel ever. The room was huge and incredibly clean. The service was impeccable, with attention to every detail – from helping with luggage the moment we arrived, it was full concierge service. The hot springs were also excellent. Highly recommend!
The hotel and rooms were exceptionally clean. The in-room amenities were complete and of high quality, and the hot springs were wonderfully relaxing with few people in the evenings. The mini-fridge was stocked with complimentary beverages, and the Kaiseki dinner was superb! The hotel is located upstream in the town, perfect for a relaxing getaway. Very satisfied with the hotel service and all. I want to visit again.
Great hotel. Nice onsen facilities with a choice of rooftop location or ground floor nature garden location. The details that this hotel offers is exceptional compared to two other ones I have attended so far. The two stringed friddle with piano show at night was an extra bonus. The room was spacious and there was a spa, so I enjoyed a relaxing bath. I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity.
I always stay here when I'm in Kobe. Perhaps it's because the facilities are new, but they're clean and I always enjoy my stay. There's also a convenience store next door, so I don't think you'll have any inconveniences.
The room smelled nice when I entered, which I really liked. The room was on the west side, so the view was great.
The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was delicious and had a great view, but it was far from the station. Also, there were tea bags for tea and black tea at the amenity selection area, and there was a kettle in the room, but no bottled water. It was the first time I'd stayed in a hotel without water in the room. Other than that, it was great.
There is nothing on the island, you can only take a taxi to the other side. But the service is very good, the room is clean, but it is too small and the price is a bit expensive
I stayed here the day before Seventeen's fan meet! It was easy to access from Nakakoen Station, the rooms were clean, there were plenty of amenities, the bath was open 24 hours a day, and there was a sauna too!! I would definitely stay here again if I had the chance!

Did not stay but used Onsen + lunch package. Onsen was one of the best in my life in Japan. I could use 1の湯 and 3の湯 all alone. Could not believe I was the only person using this onsen at that time. My body and mind both could be relaxed and refreshed. Food was also very nice. Next time I would love to stay a night.
The spot was super central. The staff were really nice. The hotel has this old-school charm, even if it's a bit dated, but they keep it up well. I loved their onsens, both inside and out. They even switch them daily so you get different views. Plus, you can get a private onsen for a bit extra.
We stayed at the west block which offers a nice view of the town. The public onsen are the big highlights together with the kaiseki dinner and buffet breakfast. The hotel has a long history so the building does have a slightly dated feeling to it and it's a huge hotel (with multiple blocks and floors) so might not offer a cozy feeling.
Wow. Wow. Wow! This was the most magical experience of our entire Japan trip. We did the Kobe dinner in our room and had access to both the public onsen and booked a private one. It was so good! I'll definitely be coming here every winter.
The exterior is castle-style, while the interior is more traditional Japanese style. The plaza lighting is beautiful, but hotel guests don't get any discounts! The hot spring bath is unique, but it's a bit rushed by 11 pm!
The hotel has a considerable history. Situated high in the mountains, the air is pleasant. The Japanese-style rooms are excellent, and the balconies are nice. It has all the necessary amenities for a holiday. The onsen is really good, with many indoor and outdoor baths. Because it's an old and large hotel, there are certainly some areas that could be improved. But overall, it's still acceptable considering...
Very friendly for children. However, The place is often fully booked.
This hotel is recommended for family trips. While the entire building exudes a sense of history, both the exterior and interior are extremely luxurious, and the grounds are used lavishly. The hotel's abundant use of natural stone, particularly within the building, and its on-site wedding venue, highlight its former luxury status. While the hotel shows signs of age, it is well-maintained and clean....
This is a family-friendly facility with a spa with hot springs of the same quality as Arima Onsen. However, the hot springs are only in the open-air baths, and the other baths are not hot springs. :) Thankful for the hotel shuttle service as the hotel is located after a really steep slope. Both onsen in hotel and the next building are good and clean. :( Amenities didn't include facial cleanser and milk lotion. The pillows are too hard for me. This is the first time visited Arima Osen. The experience was great. The location of this hotel is ok. If you go to the Main Street from hotel it takes around 5mins. But the pathway is a bit beveled. Other than that, the onsen in hotel were really good. You can try different kinds of onsen. I enjoyed the public bath! The staff were nice too.
This stay was in a Japanese-style room. The layout was conventional, not very spacious, and a bit dated, but the cleanliness was good.
