An old hotel with very few hot spring pools, you can count them on one hand. The overall comfort level is just average. However, the service is impeccable; all the staff are friendly, helpful, and readily assist with any request.

We stayed at Negiya Ryofukaku in Arima Onsen during the maple leaf season, opting for the West Wing's deluxe Japanese-Western mixed room with a mountain view. The hotel staff were incredibly attentive and thoughtful, making us feel truly comfortable. Looking out the window, the mountain was ablaze with vibrant red maple leaves, like a flowing oil painting—the scenery far exceeded our expectations. Upon check-out, the hotel even thoughtfully arranged a car to take us to Arima Station, which was incredibly convenient.

Like the quaint yet very elaborate ryokan style of living. The onsen may not be as big and fancy as in noboribetsu but it is still comfortable. I subscribed to their dinner and breakfast which was pretty good. I definitely live the wooden bathtub in my room. They have shuttle services to and from Arima Onsen region. The only complain I have is the weak wifi.

This hotel's operations and management fall short of professional standards. There was noticeable mold and grime in the bathroom, and the entire room constantly reeked of an old drain system. Even with continuous ventilation day and night, the situation didn't improve. We reported the issues to the hotel, but unfortunately, they weren't effectively addressed.

On a positive note, the restaurant staff were friendly, and the dinner quality was satisfactory. However, considering the overall accommodation conditions, we would not consider staying here again.

Excellent place to experience traditional Japanese living.
To avoid difficulties with getting to the hotel you should take a bus at Shin-Kobe station before darkness. This bus will take you to the bus stop at Arima, it’s 600 m away from hotel.

The staff and service amazing.
I was provided a vegetarian kaiseki dinner and breakfast upon request

Very nice traditional hotel. Perfect location, a nice remote village with services and shops, if needed. Good staff, always helping and are there to even open doors. Very relaxing onsen

One of the best experiences in my life. The view from the windows is incredible. Kaiseki dinner was awesome (requires booking in advance, though).
Modern yet real onsen.
The staff is extremely polite and helpful.
The only problem: bad private bath condition. But nothing critical.
