Kobe, Arima-cho 818, Kita Ward (13 km from centre) 🧭 Map
First, I checked in at a nearby cafe. I was given amenities there. The room was spacious, with a separate shower and toilet, and even a study-like room. Kin no Yu was also nearby, which I was very happy with. It was a great, affordable inn.
Excellent hotel! I really liked the service, the room was large, everything was clean, and the breakfast was excellent. Check-in is in the cafe, so check the website to avoid getting lost.
Check-in is at a coffee shop, where the staff will tell you where your accommodation is. It's very close to the Golden Hot Springs, and they provide bathrobes for you to change into upon arrival. The accommodations were excellent, and I'd definitely stay here again if I were to return to Arima.
I was a little worried at first because check-in and check-out were done at a nearby cafe, but the explanations were easy to understand and it wasn't as inconvenient as I thought it would be. I was surprised that the walls were thin and I could clearly hear the sound of the toilet paper being rolled and flushed in the next room. However, I was satisfied with the size, atmosphere, and relaxing feeling...
When I checked in at the cafe, the staff were very friendly and I was able to get from the cafe to the inn without any trouble.
For a couple of nights, it's a perfect option! Comfortable beds, larger than single beds. The room was cool, but there was air conditioning. The cafe that gave out instructions for check-in gave coffee to go and all the bath accessories. The room has a small room in traditional Japanese style - with a low table, ottomans, and in the drawers there are two kimonos and baskets to take with all this to...

One of the nicest hostels I've stayed in after 2 weeks in Japan and fair price
Excellent location. It is situated at "china town", walking distance to harbour. The room is spacious, friendly staff, and provide Muji lotions. Overall great experience
Nicely located near Motomachi Shopping Street. One station away from Kobe-Sannomiya Station and close to Daimaru Store. The hostel does not have any elevator, please be mindful if you are carrying heavy suitcases. I love the exclusive toiletries in the washroom and shower room. Other than the late check-in and early check-out, there is definitely nothing to complaint. I do not have problem at all...
Sweet spot of a comfortable, affordable, well-located stay. Female-only showers and toilets available 🙆🏻‍♀️❤️
Hard to sleep when others are snoring.
This hostels is just incredible. The best one I have done in Japan. The staff was super friendly, helped me and answered all the questions I had about the city etc. Recommend it 100% !! There was a book I was reading there that I found in the hostel, and I wanted to buy it from them so I could finish it. They gifted it to me 🥹

Owner was courteous and went to great effort to ensure our stay was comfortable. Great value for size and comfort of room, amenities and great view
This was not a hotel but an apartment. The location is practical, the balcony view is gorgeous, and the owners were very receptive and generous to requests. The structure is, however, old and the bedroon windows made a terrible rattling sound every time the door was shut, or the bus went by- definitely could use an upgrade. The washing machine and dryer were life savers. The place does not have a functioning...
Extremely family friendly with comfortable rooms and even toys!
Transportation: There are two buses, No. 2/18, downstairs. Both can go to Sannomiya. No. 2 runs every 5 minutes, which is quite convenient. It is also very convenient to go to Mount Maya and Fubiki. No. 18 goes directly to the Maya Cable Car. No. 2 goes to Guanyin Temple and walks there. There are no places to eat around. You must eat before returning to the hotel. There is a family mart 300 meters...
1. **Room Cleanliness**: The room was spotlessly clean. The sheets and towels had a fresh scent, which made me feel very comfortable and at ease. The furnishings were also tastefully appointed, creating a warm yet modern feel. 2. **Convenient Location**: The B&B is in a prime location, surrounded by a wealth of amenities. A bus runs right downstairs, running every four minutes and taking us to Sannomiya...
Although the house is a bit old, the terrace has a good view, with a full sea view and a view of the entire Kobe city. The house is spacious, clean and located in a quiet community. The only drawback is the water heater problem. Fortunately, I sent a message to the owner , he responded immediately, and an employee came to solve the problem quickly. .

100/100 Excellent value for money. The room is huge and very clean. Kitchenware and tableware are provided. There's a supermarket a 7-minute drive away. Free parking is available. I would recommend this place to my friends!
The view from the room is fantastic, offering a direct view of the strait and the bridge. The hotel has a great design and excellent facilities, including a stove and range hood, complete tableware and kitchenware, and even a Morphy Richards cookware. The nearby Coop supermarket offers half-price Kobe Wagyu beef after 7 pm, perfect for grilling. Parking is available for free. The only downside is that...
The B&B is located near Nishimaiko Station. There are many restaurants around. It is right on the seaside and you can see the Akashi Kai Ohashi Bridge. The bridge is lit up at night🌉, and during the day you can hear the waves🌊. The environment is good. The service attitude of the staff is also very good. They are a group of young people who will help with luggage. Fortunately, I was the only one in...

Not a bad option, overall is okay for backpacker. But quite not friendly for those who are old and big body size because their bath room is quite small and the stair is quite dangerous.
The location is very convenient, just one stop from San Gong in the city center. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and they even helped with luggage upstairs. The overall atmosphere was very satisfying, and the surrounding environment is pleasant and comfortable. Highly recommended! 👍
This cozy hostel is just a five-minute walk from Hakyu Ojiko Park Station! The information was clearly stated during check-in. There's also a 7-Eleven at the intersection for easy access to food, but be aware that the stairs inside the hostel are quite steep, so walk carefully. Overall, it was a very good experience! I would definitely stay here again!
The stay was very comfortable and convenient, close to the subway station.
The room was very cozy and fragrant. The lady at the front desk was very talkative and patiently helped me explain the precautions and places to visit nearby.
Very safe, convenient, and clean. The owner is so nice and nice.

The host was informative and kind. Good amenities, clean, good location
Great place to stay. Not far from main attractions. Two stops away in a train. Main host is friendly and speaks English. He was very helpful with recommendations as well. The place was super clean.
A fine hostel. No lift, so you'll have to haul your luggage up at least 4 flights of stairs. Towels are available only for rental. I didn't see much of the staff. The space was very clean, I stayed for two nights and there were only a couple other people. A little expensive for what it is, though I think prices in late December tend to be higher
The hostel is very close to Oishi Station, only 200 meters away, just across an alley. It's a bit further from Rokko-dori Station, about a kilometer away. There are convenience stores and bakeries nearby. You can walk to Mount Rokko and Kobe University to watch the sunset and night view, a popular spot for taking photos. It's also convenient to take a bus to Kobe Sannomiya (around 200 yen). Compared...
I know it’s just a hostel but it’s still the worst hosting experience I’ve ever had in Japan
While it's not near Sannomiya Station, the four-person female dormitory is a budget-friendly option for solo women traveling. It's a short 3-5 minute walk from Oishi Station, which is about five stops from Sannomiya. The women's dorm is safe, and the bedding is clean and comes with a cover. The room is closed during the day, so if you'd like to leave your luggage, contact the host in advance. I just...

Great value for a dated capsule experience. Good sento, alarm don’t work
This is suitable for men who are traveling alone. If you are traveling to Kobe for the first time, you can consider it. Only men stay here, and most of them are Japanese locals.
It's very good for a simple night, clean and sanitary, with a large bath
Location is around 10min walking distance from Sannomiya station. Public bath and sauna room is quite old. Overall is ok
Not bad, the capsule room is more private. Facilities: You can take a shower on the 2nd floor, there is no water outage time, you can eat and make phone calls on the 5th floor, the 34th floor is a capsule room, there are three sockets inside, but two are very close, so you can use two at the same time Environment: There are many convenience stores around, it is very close to JR Sannomiya Station, and...
A nice and clean budget stay. Nice staff service. Happy to find a nice and clean microwave oven when I just needed one. All guests are civilized in all aspects. No noise at all at night although many clients sharing a same room. In summary, a nice and comfortable one-night short stay for me.

Very close to a few of the hot springs, friendly staff and very nice rooms. The breakfast was an additional charge, it was very tasty! The rooms didn’t have showers/toilets but that didn’t matter to us as we had a bath already at the onsen.
We really loved this place! The owners were the most hospitable people i have ever met 😊 the hostel is very well located, clean and peaceful. Thank you for everything Tatsunn and RinRin ♥️ i hope we will meet again 🙏🏻
Perfectly located in Arima between all the Onsen, this guesthouse is a true gem, with spotless amenities and with awesome Japanese style. The host couple are also amazingly hospitable, friendly and fun - the type that become friends overnight.
I can't recommend this place enough, the hosts are amazing, warm and welcoming ... had a great time staying here. The place is quite new, very clean and the location is just perfect ... very close to all the hot springs in town
This is one of the best places I have ever stayed. The owners are very cute couple. They spent time with us at the evening and I have delicious breakfast with them in the morning. Welcome drink is just one of many amazing things you get when you stay there.
Lovely couple who speak much better than average english will welcome you and make you feel at home in their guesthouse. Converted from typical Japanese home it feels very genuine. Make sure to stick around for a shared dinner and eat from a common pot of meat, tofu and vegetables. Dorm beds and rooms, from 4000¥

It seems that they also operate a cafe during the day, and the exterior has a nice atmosphere. In addition to the amenities, you can freely use instant coffee, tea, and seasonings, so you can relax with a lot of freedom. If you don't need excessive service, you will be very satisfied.
It's quite weird design and but interesting, just like you share rooms with the owners. Clean, tidy, spacious...however I felt sometimes uncomfortable if I needed a private space. The price is fit for budget travelers, it worths for recommending!
This is my second time staying here. There were not many guests, so I was the only one in the dormitory. (It was a dormitory that only accommodates 2 people.) The decorations of the inn are cute.
The location is easy to find, just by the road. The house is not decorated It is fully equipped, you can cook your own meals, and most importantly, it is free!

The stairs are very steep and dangerous. They don't provide towels, so you'll need to bring your own. The shower and bathroom are on the 4th floor, but they're cramped. The front desk and kitchen are on the 1st floor. Not bad for a one-night stay. About 3 out of 5.
It is a standard youth hostel with simple facilities, few showers and toilets, and the smart toilet lid does not work. Free coffee machines and iced drinks are provided. In the morning, each person is provided with a slice of thick bread, butter, jam, etc. There is also a small electric oven available. It is located to the north of Ikuta Shrine, very close to Kitano and not far from the downtown area...
There is no problem with hygiene. The infrastructure is relatively old, but all functions are normal. It is unfair to talk about service without considering the price. I think the service provided by the boss is completely worthy of the price.
The order should indicate the exact location of the hostel
Very clean, the living room decoration is also very unique, the boss is very gentle and friendly, detailed explanation, can speak English and Japanese, patiently watched me translate Chinese into Japanese, forgot to return the shoe key, I will return to Kobe tomorrow
Kind staff, decent bed, very high price for a hostel. Lots of stair climbing. Great vibes, I enjoy the vintage interior decor. Unfortunately, they charge for luggage storage.

Compared to Kyoto, the Monterey in Kobe offers much better service. Sona is quite small, and lately, there's been too much of a Korean presence there. Although the hotel is a short walk from the station, it's still easy to find. There is indeed a red-light district nearby, making it a bit noisy and messy (though understandable). The room layout is reasonable, the TV supports screen mirroring, and the...
Getting to the hotel from Osaka Airport was quite convenient. We took a bus from stop 6 to Sannomiya, Kobe, and it was about a seven-minute walk from there. A one-way ticket was 2200 yen, and a round-trip was 3700 yen, so we opted for the round-trip. The hotel is located near Ikuta Shrine, which made it very easy to find with navigation. It’s an older hotel with a Western architectural style, and the...
Excellent location, just a five-minute walk from the JR station. Lots of great food options nearby. The hotel service is nice, and they offer free self-service drinks. The room is spacious, and there's a private hot spring bath, which is a big plus for privacy. You need a key card to access your floor.
Good location. Very accessible to food and shopping by walking. Room is big and quiet. Have parking bay.
Kobe is a beautiful city, and I've stayed at several Hotel Monterreys in Japan, all of which have been great. This one also has a good location.
The room was spacious! Although a bit old, it was very clean. Check-in was at 3 PM, and we were able to store our luggage in advance. The only minor inconvenience was an uphill walk to the hotel. Out of the three hotels we stayed at, I'd recommend this one. It's close to the main street, and especially nice to have a clean public hot spring bath – it was really relaxing.

Love their hot spring in the Kobe city and providing great selection of breakfast buffet, definitely worth the value
Rooms at 5/F are probably renovated, quite different from upper floors, very nice and spacious Bathroom way too small though, layout is not quite making sense, long and narrow, not much space near the sink for putting your toiletries/clothes/towels Our stay was at Christmas eve, got a cute gift from “santa” at the door the next morning ^_^ Location: around 10 min walk from metro station, couldn...
Hotel itself is ok with up to standard service from hotel staff, room size is typical Japanese budget hotel & acceptable based on Japanese hotel standard, have complimentary hot spring with 2 pools and 10 washing space in such standard and room rate is good enough. Location also ok with only 3 minutes walking distance to the nearest metro station. The only area not feeling good is the public...
Generally clean and well maintained except for several corners in 3rd floor. Service and amenities were excellent.
They offer a shuttle service to the Three Palaces, and the hot springs are very comfortable. At this price, what more could you ask for?

Kobe, Sakaemachidori 3-1-3, Chuo, 650-0023 Kobe, Prefektura Hyogo, Yaponiya (in the centre) 🧭 Map
The hotel isn't too far from Motomachi Subway Station, just a few minutes' walk. You pass through Nankinmachi on the way to the station. There's a microwave in the lobby, and the room was bigger than I expected. The family room had three beds, making it the largest room I've stayed in in Japan.
The hotel's location is fantastic, allowing easy access to Motomachi, Sannomiya, and Meriken Park. If you arrive in the afternoon, you can explore Meriken Park first. The next day, you can walk from Motomachi to Sannomiya and Ikuta Shrine, which takes only about 20 minutes. The hotel provides pajamas and all toiletries, and there's even a coffee machine in the room. Absolutely excellent!
This hotel is super convenient! It's just a 5-minute walk from Motomachi Station and right next to a shopping street, so food and shopping are a breeze. They offer a unique Nepalese-style breakfast, which was a nice touch. Plus, it's really close to all the main attractions.
The room was incredibly noisy, with wind whistling through the window gaps all night long! There's no microwave in the room, only one in the lobby. The room itself is standard small, but the bathroom is truly tiny.
Hotel is just off chinatown in a quiet street. Rooms are clean and comfy. No view. Simple hotel with no frills. Near to motomachi station. 5 mins walk to merikan park, harbour etc. great to explore Kobe as a base. Recommended.
Great loation right in the heart of Kobe. Easy access to metro stations
