Other than the late check-in and early check-out, there is definitely nothing to complaint. I do not have problem at all with the timing as it suits my itinerary. However, if you are planning to stay here, the check in time is at 4 pm and check out time at 10 am. They do accept luggage storage but please inform them earlier.
I enjoyed the calligraphy workshop too! It’s free so you should grab the opportunity to learn while staying there.
A man who had been staying there for a few days suddenly entered a room reserved for women only...
There was a book I was reading there that I found in the hostel, and I wanted to buy it from them so I could finish it. They gifted it to me 🥹
It's close to Motomachi Station, so it's easily accessible.
I checked in late, so I was grateful that I received an email with instructions on how to check in by myself.
However, the front desk is not available from 10pm until almost 10am, and the phone is not connected, so I couldn't use towels (additional charge) and couldn't take a shower that day, which was very inconvenient.
If you check in after front desk hours, you should be careful.
