Heads up: this hotel has an unusual check-in time, and you might not be able to reach them if you arrive too late.

The limited reception hours are a drawback, and especially the showers being closed after 11 PM.

This is a budget-friendly place to stay. The owner is lovely, kind, and very friendly.

It's close to the MRT station and Don Quijote mall.

The room is small but clean, and the owner is very friendly. It can fit a suitcase, and the tatami floor is very large—spacious enough for two people to sleep. I did see some rooms occupied by two guests. The shower and toilet are located outside the room. The room is equipped with a TV, air conditioning, and a refrigerator.

I had a great 4-night, 5-day stay in a clean and comfortable place. It was close to several subway stations, which was nice.

This small hotel is conveniently close to the Shin Imamiya and Dobutsuen Mae stations. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and have adjustable lighting. There’s a small public bathroom area.

The staff allowed me to drop off my luggage and they moved it into my room when I returned later to checkin. Upon departing, the staff will call you at 10am if you haven’t checked out yet. So be prompt in your checkout.

Pros:
-The traditional futon room is quite nice, the tatami is clean and the futon beds are wonderful
-The reception also closes at 7pm, actually we got there at 7:06 but it was still open
-instant noodles and drinks machines in the lobby

Cons:
- the toilet and bathroom is shared and they are both so smelly. Go to an onsen instead of showering here!
-There’s no sound insulation at all, so the whole night and into the morning we could hear loud noises.
-At one point someone turned on our TV early in the morning and it made an ear splitting noise, I guess they have a remote in another room.

I’m currently solo travelling around Japan and assumed that for the cheap price to stay at the Hotel Beaver 2- I wouldn’t have the constant smell of cigarettes and human poop lingering.

If you are wanting to see the pretty side of Osaka, I would NOT recommend staying here, as it has somewhat ruined my perception of Osaka. The area is quite poor, and going outside can feel slightly unsafe when it’s dark, even as a male. Noting that the locals here are extremely friendly.

Although the rooms are kept tidy, come with towels, and a complimentary tooth brush, there is an urge to wash your hands after touching anything.

On a positive note, the staff were very welcoming and treat the people staying with a great amount of respect.

But next time I visit Osaka, I would most likely choose another location to stay.

The room itself was ok. Clean and comfortable. Just that the sharing toilet is quite smelly. The owner (I assume) was friendly and saw us came in early in the rain and let us check in earlier by 1hr. But beware, front desk are usually closed until 15:00hrs. Public bath and shower room are located at 1st floor. microwave are available. The only down side about the room is the window are not able to open. The location was about 10min to JR Shin Imamiya Station and another kintetsu station. The area itself is considered the most "dangerous" area in Osaka. However I still feel that it is much safer comparing to many other countries. There are just some homeless folk around and I think they are perfectly fine. This hotel is a much better option that hostel for me as I can get my own room and the tatami room are quite spacious and comes with TV and a half sized refrigerator with freezer.
