Hotel Kintetsu Universal City in Osaka

Great location

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Kintetsu Universal City. We were so glad to receive a free pouch for each guest at check-in — such a thoughtful touch.
Kids’ bathrobes were also available at the lobby, which made the stay very family-friendly.
The morning breakfast was delicious with a good variety, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Highly recommended, especially for families visiting USJ!

Kid friendly hotel with kids amenities, superb location

This hotel is perfectly situated right outside Universal Studios, and just a few minutes from the subway station. It was so convenient! When we came back late at night, we could grab a number at Sushiro, go up to rest, and then come back down to eat. The next day, we went to the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, and taking the boat from the nearby port was much easier than the subway. The breakfast was incredibly rich, with both Western and Japanese options – we really enjoyed it. Plus, I was pleasantly surprised that they provided an extra bed for our child, even though many hotels don't do that when the booking states 'includes 1 child'.

If you're planning a trip to Universal Studios Japan (USJ), I highly recommend staying here. It's only a five-minute walk from the park, which is super convenient whether you want to be there right at opening or stay until closing. It saves a lot of time and energy, and you can even pop back to the hotel for a break during the day.

There's a McDonald's right next to the hotel, along with plenty of other food options, so it's generally very convenient.

We booked a quadruple room, which was a corner unit, and it was incredibly spacious – a rare find in Japan! Honestly, my only complaint is the price.

The hygiene was good; everything was very clean, and the bathroom amenities were excellent.

We communicated with the hotel in advance, and they gave us the highest floor for this room type, which we were very happy with overall.

My only slight dissatisfactions were the carpeted floors, which always make me feel like they're harboring dirt, and the bathroom not having a wet/dry separation, which was a bit of a letdown.

It was over 2200 for one night during the National Day holiday, so it might be a better value during off-peak times.

The hotel's location is excellent. I originally wanted to stay at a hotel near Yu Garden, but then realized this one near the railway station is also great. Right outside the hotel, there's a coffee shop, Sushiro, a Lawson convenience store, and a drugstore, which is incredibly convenient. If you opt for breakfast, each person can order one main dish. We chose the chicken meatballs and fried chicken pieces, and they were delicious.

Location perfect for USJ and close to train station. Room size ok for Japan standard. Initially thought that the shower and bathtub was separated but it was not. No water was given so had to boil our own so bring your own bottles! The location had many amenities/food/shops nearby so can also buy from Lawson. Had DIY laundry but was always full of people so had to wait for the machines. Service of staff was good though spoke very little English. Provided luggage transfer service.

This hotel is super close to Universal Studios, just a few minutes' walk away, making it the best choice if you want to be among the first in. The hotel is clean and spacious; our double room had plenty of extra space even after opening two large suitcases. Definitely recommend!

3 mins walk to Universal studio, very convenient. Friendly staff, room space is a bit small but normal for Japan's hotels. Free gifts for guests!
