Truly enjoyed my stay here! Really love the cozy and zen vibes and location was really good, directly opposite a mall with Uniqlo, GU and Loft. Amenties were provided in the lobby so you can help yourself to it anytime. Overall, a really comfortable stay and I’d come back again!
Overall is good and they have Refa for shower and hairdryer. My only complaint is the room is quite dark, not have enough light/lamp..
Excellent location, just a few steps and you're right on the hustle and bustle of downtown Kyoto. Room was clean. They have free coffee inside a quiet library. Staff was extremely helpful. I recommend
Excellent! The room is quite spacious, big enough to open a 30-inch suitcase. Downstairs, there's a lounge area with coffee, hot water, and a restroom, perfect for early risers to get everything sorted before heading out with friends.
It was really good to stay at Resol, the staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, the location was excellent- right in the middle of the high street- but the hotel itself served as a sanctuary and can I add, the scent when you walked in was heavenly- I even bought their signature essential oil. The hotel offers experiences for their guests, I watched a Maiko dance and practiced calligraphy with...
Excellent location, and the room was exactly as pictured - clean, comfortable, and tidy. This is my second stay here, and the service is still fantastic! The views are also beautiful. Overall, it's incredibly good value for money, and I'll definitely stay here again if I have the chance.

Kyoto, 172 Moriyamacho, Nakagyou-ku (in the centre) 🧭 Map
The room had a wonderfully calming Japanese-style interior. The lobby also maintained a strong Japanese aesthetic, making it the kind of hotel where you'd want to stay another night.
The hot tub on the first floor was a hit with kids, and the breakfast was a perfect Japanese meal. It also offered an experience of Japanese tatami culture. The price wasn't the best value, but overall it was acceptable.
Incredible! Large bathtub and spacious ryokan-style room!
The location is close to the station, and the facilities are clean. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The bedding was clean, and the breakfast was surprisingly good, with a decent selection. I'll definitely stay here again.
Very nice house, well maintained. Excellent value for money for Kyoto. Good central location close to transport to the main sites!
Very comfortable tatami, clean, free hot spring. I like it very much. It takes a long time to walk after getting off the subway. There is no subway station nearby. Other than that, it is very good.

Toyoko Inn Kyoto Biwako Otsu, Otsu1 / 30

Otsu, 2-1-28 Nagara (in the centre) 🧭 Map
This hotel perfect for a stay out from bustling Kyoto city. a bit far, but very good location if you dont mind 10mins walk to JR station.
It was far from any station, about a 12-minute walk. It was also a bit far to call a taxi, and carrying heavy luggage was tiring.
Being a Toyoko Inn, there's nothing wrong with the hotel itself. The rooms are clean and the service is also excellent. The only downside is the location. It's a bit far from both JR Otsu Station and Keihan Biwako-Hamaotsu Station, so it might be a bit difficult if you have luggage or during hot or cold seasons. Also, there are no convenience stores nearby, so you might find it inconvenient if you...
Self-check-in was available, but the service was quite good. There was a water dispenser and a small seating area. The room was a bit more spacious than typical Japanese rooms, but there was only one elevator, so the wait was quite long. The breakfast was simple and delicious. It's a few minutes' walk from the station, and there's a small shopping street nearby.
My room was in front of the air conditioner unit storage area, so the view from the window was terrible. Apparently there are rooms with views of Lake Biwa, so I wish they'd let me choose the view I wanted. Even though I asked if I wanted a room with a good view when I checked in... I wish they'd explained to me that, if there was an air conditioner unit outside the window, unfortunately there were...
High C/P.  So rush hour it is hard to take elevator

If you are planing a cheap hotel near Kyoto I recommend this one. Literally the hotel is in the station just get the elevator and go down and there you go you arrive attge station and after 2 stops 9 minutes you arrive at Kyoto station.
Located behind the JR station which could take you to anywhere outside the town. Need to walk to other location within the town as there's no connecting train. The hotel is rather old but is ok to stay at affordable price. A restraurant within the hotel that serve good food.
The location right next to the station is super convenient. The front desk staff were also excellent.
Great stay! Very convenient location close to the station.
Great location and nice room. Breakfast is pretty good too.
The location is great, but the hotel is quite old and the decor is showing its age.

Although the room was small, it had everything we needed. The staff were very welcoming and the room was very clean. The location is quite convenient; Nishiki Market is less than a 10-minute walk away.
This hotel was perfect for our stay in Kyoto. It was exceptionally clean, beautiful rooms and excellent customer service. My friend got sick half way through the night and the hotel let us book a separate room at 01:00 in the morning. It was a great location so we would definitely stay again!
The location is generally not far from the city center, and there's a supermarket and subway station within a ten-minute walk. The decor is quite new, and the bathroom is spacious.
It's a bit of a walk from Karasuma Oike subway station. There's a small supermarket nearby, and a Family Mart and 7-Eleven a little further down the road. The room layout is a bit odd; it could have had more space, but the strange design makes it feel smaller than it is.
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The rooms were cleaned everyday. It had a Nespresso (pixie) in the room with 2 free pods. The bed was comfy. I’m not a big fan of the pillows but I was able to sleep well anyway. The location is okay.
Location is fine...services is excellent...I will come again next time.

Highly recommended – Excellent stay After a very poor experience at another hotel, staying here was a complete turnaround. This hotel exceeded our expectations. Location The location is unbeatable. Despite being so central, the hotel is very quiet inside, making it perfect for a good...
Booked a few nights here last minute when we didnt enjoy our current hotel. Friendly staff and the room was ready even though it was a same day arrival. Breakfast buffet is very generous in the morning with western and Japanese options. In the afternoon they have a sort of tea time as well where you can grab a drink, great if you think of passing by the hotel.
Right in centre of Kyoto City. Very convenient location for Kawaramachi, Shijo, all amusement just outside. Very safe for solo ladies. Western style large bedrooms yet traditional Kyoto luxury feel decor. Good value at reasonable prices. Loved it!
Stayed for a week in December. loved the location. Staff spoke good english so that was really helpful During our stay we had to ask for some help and staff went above and beyond. The only thing is that the aircon is centrally controlled so we found it was too warm. But other than that everything went well :)
A really great and affordable place to stay while you’re in Kyoto, incredibly close to a lot of great shops, restaurants, and plenty of bus and train stations nearby to take you around the city. Our room was very clean, temperature regulation felt right for us but it might be too cold or hot depending on your personal preference. The hotel has an excellent location right in the city center, with everything within easy reach. It is modern, clean, and well-maintained. The facilities are a bit dated, but the environment is nice, the room is spacious, and the breakfast tastes great.
We appreciated that the hotel provides complimentary pick-up and drop-off service to the nearest subway station between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm. Breakfast is served in traditional Japanese style, featuring rice, grilled fish, eggs, and some vegetables. Coffee is not included and must be purchased separately from the hotel’s café. Good foods and excellent view.
service is not detailed, , no coffee to be provided for breakfast, room is old, food is so so, hot spring is good, spacious outdoor
The free call service from the station is very convenient for travellers who come to stay but not driving. Both the breakfasts and dinners are excellent. The in-room onsen with jacuzzi and the beautiful landscape is spectacular. The public onsen is also clean and well maintained. The only flaw is tv in the room is rather old and would appreciate an upgrade.n
The hotel is slightly dated but has a strong Japanese aesthetic—stepping inside feels like entering a novel, reminiscent of a quiet rendezvous setting. We arrived after 7 p.m., by which time the hotel no longer served food, and the surrounding area was very dark and quiet, leaving Uber Eats as the only option. The room is OK, with a normal Japanese layout, but the price/performance ratio is not high, especially if the window is not facing the Kamo River, it is just an ordinary Japanese hotel
I stayed at this hotel in 2016. This time I booked it for my friend. It still feels a bit old. It's quite comfortable to walk along the nearby Kamogawa River, and the sanitation is also very clean.
Ryokan 10 minutes from the metro, relatively clean and quiet. Friendly, attentive staff but speaking little English. The room is clean but small for 4. Considering the services, the onsen not working, it is relatively expensive because a little out of the way
A few girls were traveling together, and because they were booked too late, there were not many Japanese-style hotels to choose from. This one pretty much meets our requirements.
The ladies at the front desk were lovely and the rooms were beautiful!
with my friends we spent two nights in the Tazuru ryokan because we particularly wanted to try this kind of experience, in full Japanese style. Considering the place, the view and the beauty of the hotel I think it's well worth the money.

Nice hotel with very helpful staff.
Enjoyed small friendly restaurants around the hotel. You can go to Kyoto using public transportation easily.
Staff was very friendly and the room was quite clean. My only wish is that the Air Conditioning was a bit stronger. I am from the North and used to brutal winters. We like it cold.
The room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and held our bags since we arrived in Kyoto before check in time. The hotel was conveniently located near a train station and several convenience stores. Only complaint was that the bathroom was on a steep step that was not labeled. My friend and I stumbled on it a couple times before getting used to it.

well, i mistakenly choose the smoking room which made me feel very uncomfortable whole night. It's my fault, I don't blame, but the ventilation is sooooo bad that I could always smell the smoking from my next-door neighbor. Others were ok. If you don't mind it's a bit old and you would just stay for a night, this is a good choice.
Good value for money The hotel is located right in the city make is easy to travel around. The check-in process efficient, The bed was comfortable although the room was a bit small. Overall a nice place to stay 🙏 Thank you 🙏
If you are going to visit Lake Biwa or Hikone Castle, staying at Reiah Hotel Otsu Ishiyama is very convenient for transportation and the price is much more affordable than hotels in Kyoto. The hotel breakfast is good and freshly ground coffee is available all day.
The room was very comfortable and large, and we were able to open our two 28-inch suitcases. It was great that we chose to live in Ishiyama this time. In the morning, we walked along the Seta River to Ishiyama Temple. The scenery was beautiful. The small town in Japan was very quiet and comfortable.

Efficient and friendly reception. Comfortable, clean and spacious room with in room onsen at the right temperature . Both dinner and buffet breakfast were tasty and varied. Staff at restaurant were efficient and provided good service.
Room was very good. Public onsen was ok; the water was not as hot and as original. Breakfast selection was ok, can be better and have more selection other than seafood. Dinner was superb! The only thing was lacking is the location. There was nothing else around the hotel. 2 day stay was more than enough. There were no other facilities or events than onsen bath, foot/hand bath, happy hours.

The food was delicious. The room had a slight odor, and I was bothered by how clearly I could hear sounds from the hallway (there was a gap under the door).
The place was great, very try clean and comfortable stay. There are no complaints during the entire stay.
Be sure to stay a couple of days and experience this wonderful place. The setting is very beautiful and traditional.
The hotel is located about ten minutes' walk from the tram station. The environment is quiet, the scenery is pleasant, the layout is very Japanese, the breakfast and food taste good, the person in charge is very friendly, there is a 24-hour supermarket three minutes away, and the price is not expensive.
The room facilities are good, with Japanese tatami. The bathroom, washroom, and toilet are separated, but not cramped (if not, the space would be very large). The breakfast was a bit unexpected (first time traveling in Japan), it was a full salty breakfast, sashimi, soup, etc. (with a small dessert). My 10-year-old child is not used to such a breakfast, and I am not used to eating sashimi in the morning...

A really mixed experience - some great things to recommend this place and some quite poor things you should know about. Like some other guests before us it seems, we also did not receive a PIN code before we got there and so had no way to get in to the building let alone our room. Didn't even know we needed a code except other guests told us after we arrived. Took quite a while to get a response...
The room is big for 4 adults. Microwave and toaster. Full fridge shower was big and has laundry machine in room. The clothes will not dry completely. You need to hang them but there was many hang her. My only complaint was the AC. It was Soo loud! Sounded like there was a hurican in our room.
Great stylish hotel, great location, everything is clean, there is even a Dyson hairdryer, I recommend it.
Very spacious and not bad. Just when we were checking in, an old Japanese lady came out of the alley and started chirping at us. She must have been cursing. Inexplicably, she replied "Baga" and left.

Great location with basic amenities. Good for tourist. Well recommended and situated in a good location Laundry facilities can be improved by having paid laundry and the machine being lockable. Had laundry taken out inconsiderate users when it’s not finished yet
The location is great! The wifi was problematic though...we ended up using our own sim cards. Facilties are a bit old, especially the heating. There's only 4 settings, not like an aircon remote. But otherwise beds are comfy and there was sufficient space for luggages.

Banda Down the beat hotel ever. Traditional interior and breakfast truly are the most marvelous experience you can ever wish for. The stuff is very kind and helpful. Everyone should stay in a Ryokan at least once in their lives.
The hotel rooms are generally too small and compact. There is a local cemetery behind it. It is not recommended to stay there. It is also difficult to find. It is located in a small alley with poor signage. It is not recommended to stay there.
Communication was effortless as all staff members spoke excellent English. The location is truly unbeatable; Yasaka Shrine (under a 5-minute walk), Hokanji Temple (10-minute walk), and Kodai-ji Temple are all within easy walking distance. There are also many charming little restaurants in the vicinity. Though close to the main shopping district, I appreciated the peaceful and relaxed ambiance, a welcome...
