Hotel prices have been really high lately, so even though I wasn't thrilled about it, I booked a capsule hotel with a guaranteed spot on the first floor this time. It was only a few stops from Shinjuku and very close to the station, which sealed the deal. True to its name, it's a women-only hotel, which made me feel very safe. What truly impressed me were the amenities: free alcohol, free late-night snacks, free drinks, and a breakfast menu that included miso soup, popcorn, and so many other options! And the astonishing 12:00 PM check-out time was a huge bonus! I'm definitely coming back here again.

I heard that starting March 4, 2026, it will become women-only. It's a shame that men won't be able to stay here anymore, but next time I visit, I'll definitely check out the Shinjuku branch. I've stayed at four of their locations in Tokyo, and the Ogikubo branch, just like the others, was impeccably clean.

The lockers were spacious, the bath was nice, and the bathroom amenities were also very easy to use. They had ramen and curry for breakfast and dinner, which was nice. The popcorn was also good with the alcohol. However, it was hot inside the capsule.

I already dream of coming back here. I don’t think you could get any more a positive experience from a capsule hotel. This will be my home base in future Tokyo trips!

Anshin Oyado Ogikubo is a well-equipped capsule hotel with complete men’s amenities — no need to bring your own. The location is slightly out of the city, about a few stations away from Shinjuku, and around 45 minutes to other major attractions. However, Ogikubo itself is a charming small town worth exploring — quiet, clean, and perfect for relaxation. Conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the train station.
