Reviews
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Great view from the room
- Quiet
- Delicious food
- Large TV in the room
- Hand towels provided
Cons
- No outlets or USB ports on the bedside table
- Only three shower areas in the large bath, so they're all taken up when there's a group.
- The mirror in the large bath is covered in limescale
- I wish they'd provide a shuttle service, even if it cost extra
- The room was hot (it was November, and even short sleeves were hot). (By the way, I'm not particularly sensitive to heat.)
Overall, I was satisfied and would stay again.
However, if they're offering a solo plan, I wish they'd consider dining options for solo travelers as well. I felt uncomfortable being shoved in the middle of families and couples.
The view from the balcony was amazing.
The hot spring, while small, was adequate.
However, the sauna hours are set to completely favor women. Men are only allowed in between check-in and before dinner.
If they have a rotation system, I wish they'd rotate the hours as well.
The hotel is far from the station, so you'll need a taxi, but be careful as it can be crowded and difficult to catch one on the way back.
The last thing I'll mention is the view from my room. (The photo is a longer shot from the third floor.)
The ocean view rivals those of hotels in Okinawa and Hawaii, and since it was the right time of year, we even got to see the Atami fireworks.
The pool (over 10, no play equipment allowed) is free to enjoy, and while the building and facilities are a little dated, each room (we stayed in a maisonette and a twin room) was spacious and clean, with no noise from neighboring rooms. Waking up to the sounds of the waves and birds was an ideal experience.
The hotel's location is great, and although there's a busy national highway nearby, I personally didn't find the noise disruptive or bothersome.
The public bath was great, but the shower pressure, water temperature, jet bath, shampoos, and hair dryer in my room were the best! ⭐︎ My hair, which tends to get rough at the beach, is now silky smooth. (^o^)
The child-friendly staff were very helpful, and I'd definitely stay at this hotel again.
The food was as delicious as everyone has reviewed, with dishes packed with the bounty of the ingredients and a great experience.
The reasons for minus 1 are:
◎On the first night, I noticed that one of the rooms was missing an amenity, and when I called the front desk, I couldn't get through.
◎The door under the bathroom was broken and dangerous (I wish they had let me know in advance).
◎There was a problem with the lock in one of the rooms, and the staff helped me out.
However, if you report it properly, they will come up with a solution and take action, which was very helpful.
Oshima, Hatsushima and Izu Peninsula can be seen beautifully from the room.
Not suitable for families with small children, but perfect for a relaxing holiday for adults only.
We had a delicious dinner with a good view from the dining room.
