Orrs in Chatan

Nice large room in Chatan subdivision of Okinawa. Attached to a vintage store, the room is very large and clean. The manager is very pleasant and helpful and will supply you a community map with recommended restaurants identified. The area of Chatan is fairly depressed so many stores are either closed or have limited hours. A grocery store is a 10 minute walk. The seawalk is a couple blocks away. 2 laundry facilities are within walking distance but are filthy and the machines that work are limited. Although there is a microwave and fridge in the room there are no utensils, no microwaveable plates or cutlery and no wine glasses or nice amenities. The shower in the bathtub is without a shower curtain and the floor gets very wet. The room is lovely but the lack of windows and natural light makes it a very dark room and there is nothing to look at as the room is on the ground floor and looks out on a parking lot at the corner of 2 fairly busy streets. There is no English tv and only 4 Japanese channels. We had to buy our own toilet paper as the supplied paper was highly scented. The price is for the room is high for the area - check out the hotel area that is 10 minutes away with patios and complete amenities and is also closer to the American depot.
