9 Hotel Hakata in Fukuoka

This was our first international trip with our 15-month-old baby, so I put a lot of thought into choosing our accommodation. After a lot of searching, I found 9 Hakata, which was perfect because I really wanted a place with tatami mats!

I absolutely recommend this place for anyone traveling with a baby! First off, the location is unbeatable, seriously! It was easy to walk to all the major spots like the Anpanman Museum, Don Quijote, Canal City, and Hakata Station, as they were all nearby.

It was also convenient to go to MaxValu or Lopía to buy fruits, baby food, milk, and cheese for the baby. The breakfast at 9 Hakata was delicious, and my baby enjoyed it too.

Inside the accommodation, there was some dust near the tatami window, but I just wiped it down with the wet wipes I brought. The bedding and bathroom were both clean.

My baby just started walking actively, so I chose a tatami room, but it wasn't as big as I expected. However, it's still 500 times better than not having one. If your baby is crawling, I highly recommend a tatami room.

I'd love to stay here again if I come back!

Very clean and compared to standard rooms
In Japan there’s lot of space. I would recommend for couples staying in Fukuoka for few days. Love the shower area 🫶🏻

Very clean, very walkable distance to the shops! Only thing is that they have certain room cleaning period instead of daily cleaning. But worth the money.

Great location and bathroom was clean

Location is good, walkable distance to Canal City. Front desk staff is very helpful. Although it’s not daily housekeeping, they deliver 2 bottles of water & some towels on the no housekeeping days. Room size is 32 sq m, consider big in Japanese standard. The tatami area is really nice & make the whole room looks spacious.

Hotel is in the right location that I looked for. Near kushida shrine. Near reisen park. Near nakasu commercial zone that has my favourite teppanyaki and bakery shop there. Near canal city you can walk and grab yakimochi on the way. Room is spacious. Bathroom is perfect with toilet and baht zone separately. Check in/check out is easy. Nothing to criticize. I love everything about this hotel !!!
