the room is quite big and clean. They provided several different shampoos and hair products for guests to choose from the front desk which is nice! And the location is awesome, in the beginning of kokusai street and can get to the rail station within 5mins.

The location is absolutely fantastic. It's a great spot for day trips, close to the train station, convenience stores, drugstores, and even the famous A&W BBQ restaurant (Maki-ji Beef), Okinawan cuisine, tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelet), steakhouses, and gift shops. The Makishi Public Market is also easily accessible. The staff are all very friendly and provide free water (no need to buy extra)...

Traveling with my parents and kids, we found the front desk staff at the hotel to be very friendly, which was great. You can book the airport shuttle at the front desk, and it picks up right outside the hotel, which is super convenient. I've stayed at several Toyoko Inn hotels, and as always, I'm thoroughly satisfied. This particular location is excellent, right next to Kumamoto Station. The room was clean and comfortable, and the service was warm and attentive. The breakfast was also quite good.

This was a gorgeous hotel and I enjoyed every minute - lovely room with a bath and great views - literally less than 5 minute walk to Kumamoto station and 3 minutes walk to the tram line.

Omg, to cansel another hotel and change booking to this was my best decision! A had awesome view! I really enjoyed it during the late evening, check the photo. Perfect location, 7 mins walk from Hakata Station and there is a Family Mart nearby which is super convenient. We bought our breakfast and dessert from Family Mart.  Rooms are spacious and kids friendly (kid slippers and toothbrush were provided. They also provided a baby crib upon request). The room was decent, not too small. We could fit two suitcases by moving the table. The volcano view was absolutely stunning; we even saw an eruption on our first day, making the observatory mountain feel unnecessary. Breakfast was also very rich and plentiful.

Breakfast is amazing. Didn’t expect this extravagant breakfast and it is worth the price, compensating small room size but as expected room in the city. When enter the hotel entrace, the esthetic and fragrance smell is nice. Welcome drink is white wine and that is a win!! Overall is good hotel experience (this hotel has no parking lot but can park at nearby building) and staff is very nice.

This is a great hotel, not far from the beach, Makishi Public Market, and Kokusai Street. You can walk to all of them. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, and the airport is only about 6 kilometers away!

Think Toyoko Inn is the gold standard for all budget hotels in Japan, or even all over the world. The room is small but enough to accommodate 2 persons comfortably. Have everything that a traveller needs, Provided breakfast with coffee in the morning and left luggage facilities. Best !

We had the themed kumamon rooms. Nicely decorated, comfortable beds, spacious and clean. Too bad just a folder as souvenir, would be nice if we could have the kumamon toy as well. Kumamoto is Kumamon's hometown, and the hotel is filled with Kumamon-themed elements. Check-in was very convenient, and the hotel offers great value for money. Kumamoto is also quite a retro city, with a very old-school feel. My trip was a bit rushed, so there were many places I didn't get to see, but the hotel was excellent.

Needed to take a 5mins shuttle bus to hotel carpark. Walk would require 18mins.

Breakfast was great! Freshly squeezed orange juice, mixed fruit smoothies, perfectly cooked rice, and delicate pudding. The downsides were that there were a lot of spills and wet areas around the buffet, and no one was cleaning them up. Also, the air conditioning was too cold.

Our twin rooms were spacious even with three beds. The hotel is just next to Gion subway exit 6 which has elevator. The service is good. Breakfast is passable - would rather buy from the convenience store across the road. Only downside is that the area is not a shopping area. Better to book Hakata, Nakasu or Tenjin which are the more vibrant shopping areas

I had a fantastic 3-day stay at Remm. The staff are super courteous and helpful. I got a room on the 11th floor, so there was a good city-view and the single room was perfect for one person.

This hotel is super convenient! It's just a few dozen meters from the JR Station's second-floor west exit (the Shinkansen exit). Very good! Breakfast offers both Japanese and Western options, available in both the South and North wings. The Western breakfast is served as a set menu. The location is excellent. Overall, it's highly recommended. Parking is convenient and costs 1000 JPY per day.
