Hostel - NS Prestige in Shymkent

Recently, we had a worst experience at this hostel. We paid full fee for two nights while checking In (booked via online app) but another lady came on 2nd day night for payment. We have told her that the payment has been paid but she responded back like "you guys are trying to cheat us and we maintain record, your name is not there". After much conversation via Google translate we asked her to call the receptionist who was there while we joined. She called and got to know that our names were actually recorded but this lady failed to find in the list. A horrific experience where she literally demanded for money in rude beating tone.

My suggestion, take receipt for your payments or take a video shot while paying, it might happen to you as well.

Stay was good but this experience is bad, and the old lady didn't ready to apologise for her behaviour. Internet is slow though.

1. They gave our room to someone else without even telling me.
2. They stuck us in a dorm the size of kids room with 10 beds inside.
3. There are 20-30 locals long term living in the hostel that takes over the whole common area and kitchen and you won’t be able to use them.
4. The locals that are living in the hostel are very unfriendly.
5. The shower and toilets are disgusting.
Over all, if you’re a traveler who only speaks English and not Kazakh. You will be treated as an outsider with no rights.
Stay away from this place and save yourself a big headache.
