The location is convenient—just a minute walk to a CU convenience store, and there’s also an ATM nearby.
The only downsides were the shower, which was either too hot or too cold, and the fact that there’s no elevator so carrying luggage might be a bit challenging.
Overall, a good stay with great service and convenience.
To be fair the location is good, walkable to main sites. And they have water filters (plus heaters and irons) available on most floors.

Cons: TV didn't seem to work (took me about 20 minutes to make it functional). Toilet stopped flushing at some point, so I went to call the front desk, only to discover that the room phone didn't work 😂. Housekeeping "cleaned" the room, but only cleaned the toilet after a special request.
Overall, if you're on a tight budget, I think the room was fine for the money, but if you're willing/able to spend a bit more, I'd recommend going somewhere else for a stay in Almaty.
