Very convenient, there are supermarkets and fast food restaurants near the hotel, and it's also quick to take a taxi to the airport

I liked everything, the breakfast is good - buffet, you won't go hungry. The water in the pool is very cold, the room is spacious, everything you need is in the room.

This hotel has an OK environment. The network signal is not good, there is nothing to eat for breakfast, there is no elevator, it is a bit far from the city, but close to the airport, and there is a good barbecue nearby.

As three Europeans traveling to Kazakhstan for the first time, we honestly didn’t know what to expect. Almaty was a big mystery to us, but Renion Hotel turned out to be an absolute gem – warm, welcoming, and surprisingly luxurious given the very affordable price.
From the moment we stepped in, we were treated with genuine hospitality and kindness. The staff spoke English, smiled a lot, and always made sure we had what we needed – and we weren’t exactly the easiest guests! We were three guys, snowboarding all day at Shymbulak, and unwinding each night with bottles of vodka in the room... and maybe not the cleanest after a long day on the slopes. Still, the hotel staff never judged us, never complained, and always kept the room spotless. Huge respect to the housekeeping team!
Breakfast, which was included in the price, was excellent – fresh, filling, and a perfect start to a day in the mountains. But the real cherry on top? The hotel sauna and ice pool. After hours of carving powder in Shymbulak, there is nothing like stepping into the sauna, sweating it out, and then plunging into the ice pool to feel reborn. It was pure bliss and gave us back our energy for another wild evening.
Renion Hotel was not just a place to sleep – it became a basecamp for our adventure. The price-to-quality ratio is honestly unbelievable, and we left with nothing but fond memories (and maybe a slight vodka hangover).
Would we stay again? Absolutely. And next time, we'll skip Blue Sky Taxi.

I recently spent 2 nights at Renion while I was transiting from Astana to Istanbul. The hotel suited all my needs very nicely.
It is super clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was adequate. I had some very good communication with Irina prior to my stay. She responded to my emails quickly and efficiently and always very polite!
Because of my job I spend half of my life in hotels. I read all of the reviews before I booked at Renion and I think some of them were a little far-fetched and unreasonable. This is a budget hotel and does not represent itself as anything else. Ok, there is no lift. If you read the reviews then this should come as no surprise.
Renion met or exceeded my requirements and is very well-managed. The cleanliness of the hotel was most outstanding.
I would definitely recommend Renion to any traveler who is in transit and needs a comfortable place to stay near the airport.

.My family of four stayed at Renion Hotel, Almaty, Kazakhstan, from January 27 to 29, 2025. Overall, as a budget hotel, it was okay. The location is strategic—close to a supermarket and nice local restaurants.
The rooms, lobby, and dining area were clean. However, there were a couple of downsides: the heater in the room was too warm for us and difficult to adjust since it was centrally controlled. Also, there was no elevator, so we had to carry our four large suitcases up the stairs ourselves.
The receptionist was decent, but most of the staff were not friendly. Only one or two greeted guests, while the rest often seemed indifferent, which is not ideal for a hospitality business. However, when we checked out, a male staff member kindly helped us carry our luggage downstairs.
On our second day, we had to leave at 6 AM, but since breakfast only started at 7 AM, we requested four boiled eggs the night before as a substitute. The next morning, our request was prepared, along with some fruit for our tour that day. Thank you to the hotel management for this thoughtful gesture. I especially appreciate the female night-shift receptionist on January 28, 2025—I don’t know her name, but her kindness was much appreciated.
