Reviews
Plus points for the perfect massage I got. Also the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.
My stay felt like a comedy of errors where I was the punchline. First, the breakfast saga: I pre-paid for my breakfast at check-in. Yet, every single morning, the restaurant staff looked at me like a breakfast bandit trying to sneak a free croissant. “Room number? Is breakfast included?” Cue me, once again, explaining my pre-paid status like I was telling a fascinating but unlikely story. I half expected them to ask for a signed affidavit from the front desk manager by day three.
Then there was the Pool Surprise™. The website features the pool, but conveniently forgets to mention it costs extra. At check-in, I asked, "Where's the pool?" They pointed. They did not, however, point and say, "...and that'll be $20, please."
So, picture this: I'm there in my swim trunks, towel slung over my shoulder, ready for a dip. I get greeted not with a "hello," but with a request for my credit card. I had to do the walk of shame back through the lobby, damp and disappointed, to pay at the front desk. A simple heads-up would have saved us all from that awkward little parade!
The place itself is nice, but honestly, it seems like the different departments only communicate by carrier pigeon. And I'm pretty sure one of those pigeons got lost.
Pros: The room was good (if a bit tired), and the bed was comfortable.
Cons: Be prepared for a mystery fee adventure and to repeatedly prove you've paid for things you've already paid for.
In the same price range, you can find hotels that include at least breakfast and parking.
We paid €229 for two nights in a Superior Room, including breakfast. At this price range, I’d expect at least breakfast or parking to be included, but instead, everything costs extra. For example, parking in the hotel yard for two nights cost €30, definitely not a minor fee. 👎
Even after paying over €200 for two nights, you still have to pay extra for:
- Breakfast
- Access to the spa and wellness center
- Parking
The hotel rooms themselves are clean and in good condition, as long as you get the room you actually paid for.
We had booked and paid for a Superior Room but were first given a clearly smaller, downgraded room with no working air conditioning or refrigerator. Staff didn’t understand our complaint at first, but eventually, we were moved to the correct room.
The duvet/blanket in the hotel room bed was far too thick, which made it extremely hot to sleep. As a result, the air conditioning had to be on full blast the entire time just to be able to sleep under the duvet/blanket...
Customer service was extremely poor.
When we tried to leave the hotel, the car park gate wouldn’t open. We tried both phone numbers provided by the hotel, but neither worked, they weren’t even connected:
Number ending in 1101
And other one was 1111
We had to go to reception three separate times before someone helped us. Staff were uninterested and unhelpful. When I pointed out that the contact numbers didn’t work (even the one on their business card), they simply didn’t care.
👎 Very poor service.
The actual Superior Room (once we got it) was spacious, had a nice view, a working fridge, air conditioning, a sofa, and good counter space. 👍
However, even though the room looked clean, the toilet had not been properly cleaned. 👎
Breakfast was surprisingly good, plentiful and with a nice variety of options! 👍
The rooms themselves are nice and have a good view, and the breakfast was solid.
But due to the poor customer service, extra fees for basic amenities, and housekeeping issues, we will not return. The overall attitude from staff was that they simply didn’t care...
We had a newly renovated room with balcony, coffee machine, couch and working space for remote travelers.
The new rooms are just amazing!
The view of the river and old town of Riga is really gorgeous!!
Also the room is perfect for longer stays and also good for people working with laptop. You have a big desk, a sofa and a great balcony which offers an amazing view. The room is really big and has good inventory. Also the bathroom is chic and the soaps smell great :D
The price is completely fine for what this location offers.
I will definitely come back!
Thanks again for the nice service during the day and also during the night. The staff is really friendly and they also gave us good recommendations for the city.
Highly recommended to stay here!
The breakfast buffet had a wide selection – not great, not terrible – though some items like the pancakes could be improved (they were quite rubbery). That said, the staff at reception were very friendly and the check-in process was smooth and welcoming.
Overall, it's a solid choice for a stay in Riga: good value for money and within reach of the city’s main attractions. Would stay again!
We had a superior room with a view, but the windows were either fogged up or frozen, making it impossible to see through them. The room itself was not modern and needed renovation, but it was clean. Also the radiator in the room could not heat the space - it was cold. The bed was super comfortable, and the bedding was clean and well-ironed. The bathroom was old-fashioned, with a slight sewage smell, but it also seemed clean – though it could use a renovation as well.
The room door had gaps both around the hinges and at the bottom. The soundproofing was not the best. The TV in the room did not work- they promised to come and fix it, but no one ever did. The SPA area was available for an additional fee and only for a limited time, bathrobes were not provided.
