Where to stay in St Julians

My only complaints are that there was only 1 electricity outlet in the entire room so we had to take turns charging our phones and there was also no sound proofing so as a result we would go to sleep very late and wake up very early from the noises. Also the room service people would come in our room without asking or after 1 knock and one time we happened to be inside when they opened the door with...

The breakfast service was very good, but the rooms didn't have towels or cleaning products. We requested a check-up and a remote control for the TV, but they never brought it to us.

Slow Poor Unreliable Wifi. I ended up using my Mobile Data. Weak Shower water pressure. Toilet bowl looks dirty it has yellow stains that cannot be removed. On the good side, Room is big enough. The hotel is well-located, close to the sea and approximately a 4-minute walk to the beach. The room was only partially cleaned, and toiletries were completely missing. I requested face towels at the front desk, but they were never provided.

The hotel is on a good location, very close to many restaurants, shops and the public transportation. It is very clean, you get new towels on a daily level. Downside is the bed, it is uncomfortable, and really squickie. Also I found it odd that the bathroom didn't have the toilet brush. Beside that a good hotel, good value for money.

I’m had a single room with balcony and sea view booked.  The location was great - Valetta a bus journey away as was Mdina and Rabat.  Bus service is excellent. The room was adequate for me.  However the noise from the road and downstairs bar was not good.  Glass doors ineffective for noise screening.had to buy earplugs.  Also the cleaning was sporadic and I had to ask everyday for my room to be cleaned...

Brilliant location close to amenities and beautiful views.

The hotel doesn't look like in the photos. All pictures should be updated. Rooms are very, very old stylish, should renovated.  Furniture should be replaced. The hotel is really good located, however if you don't have the most expensive rooms you don't have any view. Food was good however the same every day. It was more like English Breakfast.

After reading the reviews here, I almost cancelled my reservation, but I'm glad in the end I didn't! The rooms were ok for a 3 star hotel. The pool and sauna were working, the pool is small for the number of guests, but again, the hotel has 3 stars. The view from the roof of the hotel is phenomenal. They take a deposit of 150e so be prepared for that. We did not see anywhere on the website that it says about a deposit. The staff is ok, they change towels every day.

The location is very convenient, the staff are friendly, and they offer coffee and hot cocoa. They come to ask us every day if we need cleaning, and they greet us when we come in and out. Highly recommended.

My brother’s family (2 adults and a 6-year-old) stayed at the Spinola Hotel from 30 January to 2 February 2026 and had a very pleasant stay. Malta is a hotel with the architecture of the old stone building. The staff is friendly and attentive. Manages the garden and pool. The hotel is very well maintained. the seats in the lobby was pretty dirty. Mosquito was there. Didn't have the wire in the window. Transportation is good. There are buses from the front.

I stayed in August, the price paid, as aligned with the average in that area, does not justify the condition of the room that should be a bit renovated. For the rest of the staff has always been courteous and I had no bad surprise.

Couldn't fault the hotel and staff. This is ours fourth time to the area of Sliema, Malta. Love this area been coming since 2004, but first time sonce 2014. Great for exploring the island most excursions leave from here. Also options for bus , ferry or water taxis across to Valletta. It was great to relax by the pool watching the sunset! The location is also great, as the bus stop is nearby and you can take a bus to the Gozo Island tour! A taxi from the airport costs 20 euros! You can also swim in the sea right in front of the hotel! Everyone was swimming!

The rooms need updating: walls need to be repainted & mold remediation. We wish we had known there was only a tub, no stand-up shower; I would have brought bathtub-appropriate products. Breakfast was great! But it didn't start until 7 am, and the soundproofing was a bit poor. The hairdryer adapter seemed to have been taken by other tourists, so we had to use our own. The air conditioning didn't feel cold at all, I don't know if it was locked in winter.

Malta's oldest pizzeria well worth a visit. It may also Malta's smallest elevator. The rooms are worn and the electrical plug require adapter.
