The breakfast is good, location is convinient, the front desk has assist me to check in early. The problem is day time might hear the construction noise make u can't have good rest.

We had a nice stay but there was no pen or pencil provided in order to fill in the letter from the hotel and we did not have any dental amenities in the room other than that the rooms were amazing with good air conditioning, a minus being no smart tv in the room

It's next to Gwolhanae Park, so it's a 5-day tour. The famous old town is about a 10-minute walk away. Tourist attractions, Galata Bridge dock, Grand Bazaar, etc

Been there for 12 days, as many reviews already mentioned it. Very good spot with very good staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They did their best to accommodate us in every way possible

The hotel has a good location. Beaches are near, restaurants, cafés … if I allow my self nitpicking … I would say bigger gym / sauna. And I way to make the AC less cold 😂 (or maybe I couldn’t set it right 🤷🏻‍♂️)

Monika and the staff behind reception was always amaizing and also went that extra bit further to make sure our stay was the best it could be. We would reccomend to stay here and will defintily be coming back

Polite staff, calm atmosphere, good prices. You can leave your things in a closed room after you check out.

If you can't find something to eat, I'd suggest changing your diet, as I do not know what else they could provide. The cleanliness was also great. Our room was cleaned every day, with fresh towels

Some areas are tatty, which is what they're working on. However, this in no way has interfered with our stay. We've literally used this as a base to go out and explore

The pool is as per the pictures, it's quite small, but perfectly fine. We've used it every day and always found sunbeds. We are bed and breakfast and honestly with 2 fussy kids, it is great everyone was fed and happy

There is quite some mold though and stains that can't be removed. Towels were changed when left on the floor. In all 9 nights I don't think the bedlinen were changed (at least not the pillowcases)

I was concerned after reading the reviews, but honestly I wouldn't worry. We're here currently and it is really not as bad as people have made out. Yes, some areas are in the middle of being upgraded

The toilet was broken, which caused significant inconvenience throughout my stay. Additionally, the room appeared to require maintenance and refurbishment to meet the standards one would expect

You can see the Mediterranean Sea and tourists whenever you go out. The area around the restaurant and bar is bustling. Turn right and there's a flower shop a few dozen meters away

Great location and nice coffee shop with food always available. Rooms got great sea view and staff was friendly. Basic hotel that benefits from the location and good value for money.

The staff tried hard to please but the hotel is not 4 star as advertised. The curtains were broken and had been broken for a while allowing the sun in. The airconditioning was noisy and not very efficient

Great balcony view of the harbour that you can see the fireworks and old town. Super close to the ferry. Party music a bit loud next door but ok. Value of money for the stay in Malta, highly recommended.

The breakfast was standard European without any frills, but we didn’t leave hungry. We went to the Paparazzi “restaurant” for dinner several times, it’s on the island next to the hotel

What stood out: • Location: Absolutely unbeatable. The hotel overlooks the harbour in St. Paul’s Bay, which means beautiful sea views as soon as you step out onto the balcony

Just a slight problem with the bathroom design having the WC sandwiched between a tiled wall and a large glass shower wall. Maybe remove the glass shower wall to create a wet room effect?

Another frustrating lack of consistency from reception. The pool area offers lovely views but this is undermined by rusting facilities and peeling paint. We were on a room-only basis, so I can’t comment on the food

I had high hopes for Gillieru Harbour Hotel, but the experience was let down by poor communication and lack of maintenance. Despite emailing ahead to request two separate beds, we arrived to find a double

I reported the issues within 10 minutes of arriving and was told we could change rooms the next morning. However, 10am the next day I was later told this wasn’t possible

The room smelled strongly of damp, triggering my asthma, and the bathroom had a persistent sewage odour. While visibly clean, the smell made the space feel unhygienic

Typical hotel in San Pawl, good for sunny break. You get what you pay for. Breakfast and dinner is basic but VERY good for the price.

Nothing appeared to be too much for them. The area lacks a bit and is a bit grubby but this is more down to tourists just throwing litter on the floor. I've stayed in better definately but I've also stayed in a lot worse

Towels and bedding changed every couple of days, which I'm sure is enough! Food not brilliant but found some thing to eat each day. Staff very nice, so no complaints really, get what you pay for!

Although several people appear to have complained about the food etc, my wife and I have just had a pleasant weeks stay here. It's a bit dated and basic but the staff were lovely and worked hard

Not as bad as some of the reviews, I read, our room, overlooking the pool was lovely, brand new mattresses and pillows. Bathroom was very clean, hairdryer didn't work

My only issue I had was with noisy groups of youths screaming and shouting late at night as I am a light sleeper but this isn't the fault of the hotel staff

The products in the bathroom and the robes and slippers just gave extra luxury , and my husband used the gym every morning too. Location was perfect too! Would love to return some day!! 😊

After a full on month travelling around Malta and Sicily, the Embassy was a place to be pampered for a few days. The staff cannot do enough for you. The rooms and views were lovely

The hotel is in the center of the ancient town. The rooms are beautifully designed. The service staff is enthusiastic. There is a beautiful swimming pool on the roof. The scenery outside is very beautiful

The only drawback was the street noise but that's because the hotel is right in the centre. The breakfast had a good choice with some homemade biscuits. All in all, a fine hotel with very helpful staff

Dinner at the rooftop restaurant was a great experience, and we looked forward to breakfast a view every morning

Calm place, not much noise around. Around 15 minutes away from town center and seaside. View could be nicer - some rubble and a little bit rundown houses. Rooms are quite clean and not too small

It's a quiet place from the party sea-side. Beautiful and great kitchen provides local dishes on any day of the week, they made me ask for recipes and ingredients and the chef shared them

The hotel is convenient my located about 10min walk from seafront, restaurant and hops are a short distance walk away

Walking distance from both city centers ensures you enjoy a night out without the noisy tourist areas. A bus stop or two farther away there is a fascinating aquarium worth every minute spent there

The room was much more than I expected for the price and it was very comfortable. The location is great, since the hotel looks towards the sea which is so pretty

The overall cleanliness and location were good, but the bathroom was leaking a ton of water. The bathroom floor was a sea of ​​water. The shower stall didn't seem to be properly waterproofed or finished.

Maybe the only downsides was that at times the breakfast area as well as the elevator were a bit crowded, but other than that all was perfect

Fantastic hotel in a lovely location that overlooks a harbour. Food and service are excellent. There is a ferry to Valletta a 5 minute walk away. We stayed over New Year and enjoyed the celebrations on the rooftop

Also, a bonus is that the ferry to Valletta is right around the corner over the bridge! The on site restaurant is highly rated - we paid for breakfast to be included in our stay, and by the 4th day, we were fatigued of even that delicious food :) The menu is short and there are not very many customization options beyond what is on the menu

Staying here is like stepping back in time. Boutique hotel located in a former bastion where the rooms are large and well appointed. Staff was engaged and friendly. Location is superior for exploring Bormla

Warm welcome and fast check in. The room was ready even though we arrived several hours early. Fabulous large room, spotlessly clean. All staff were excellent but Nena at breakfast was absolutely brilliant and thoughtful

We arrived very early from our previous destination. We checked in, not expecting to get our room any earlier since the check-in time is 3 PM but Momo was amazing and worked some magic to give us our room within 2 hours

Outstanding hotel, our lovely room on top floor was clean and comfortable with a view over the city. The staff were pleasant and helpful at all times. We watched the NY fireworks from the roof terrace which was amazing

Mdina is a wonderful city and the Xara is another level of luxury, I highly recommend doing a few nights there on any holiday to Malta

Yellowy mark on the ceiling fan control switch. Stained sink overflow that looked as though it needed a good clean through. And one of the pillow cases on the bed was ripped at one of the seams

Lovely room with a view over to the Cittadella in Victoria and Żebbuġ. Around a 10 minute walk into the centre of Xagħra and Uber/Bolts can also pick you up from outside the hotel without any problems

This hotel is outstanding!!! The staff, facilities, and food add to the charm of this hotel. The rooms have everything that you need and the surrounding pools, outdoor dining/seating areas are well kept

They are harmless and just looking for a bit of water. You can simply move them outside. In the patio you will also see some lizards and geckos. Please let them be, as they are the best natural pest control

The food is lovely breakfast was fresh and plentiful we also ate in the restaurant every evening was like going out to a lovely restaurant the food and friendly staff made it an outstanding experience

Lovely cheap hotel right on Balluta bay! I did have an issue with my shower but it was fixed straight away, so great service!

I’m had a single room with balcony and sea view booked.  The location was great - Valetta a bus journey away as was Mdina and Rabat. The room was adequate for me

I had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel during a business trip with my colleagues. The overall service was exceptional, and I would like to specifically commend the front office staffs, Vishnuraj and Keerthy

Our trip to Malta was absolutely wonderful, and our stay at the hotel made it even more special. The location was excellent and very convenient, and the rooms offered great value for the price

Even though we checked in late at night, we received a very warm and friendly welcome from the front office staff member, Vishnu. He was polite, helpful, and explained everything clearly

The rooms were basic but clean and we also used the sauna and the pool on the -1 floor though since the pool on the last floor because of the windy/rainy weather. Totally recommend for this price range!!!!

I recehad the good fortune to stay at the Alexandra hotel in St Julians Malta. The bedroom was lovely and clean and the buffet breakfast was ideal for the low cost stay

After reading the reviews here, I almost cancelled my reservation, but I'm glad in the end I didn't! I thought the hotel was pretty ok for the price, with excellent breakfast, the room wasn't super modern, but it was nice and clean, nothing was broken, there hot water kettle, the balcony was nice, it was possible to see the sea

Breakfast was very noce and great quality, probably one of the best Ive had come accross. Maybe ita dependent on the season, but i have had zero issues that are mentioned here

Thr reception staff was so helpful and accommodating and made sure I was collected in good time for my departure. For a single traveller such as I it was in a handy spot to get buses to Sliema, Gozo ferry and Valetta

There is outdoor pool, lounge area, and indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna. The only thing that could be improved was the water pressure in the showe. The location is also pretty good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

The sea is amazing! The water is so pure !:-) unfortunately you have to walk for 15min from the beach to reach the WC's but you'll enjoy the amazing view

The bungalows were kept in a rustic way and quiet cozy. The buffet was really nice, the pools clean and refreshing. We used the bus shuttle a lot but you can easily walk yourself

They just told me to fill out a form and take my key with no explanation regarding what my package included, where to acquire pool towels or the dining timings, NADA!!! Other than that, I really enjoyed my stay - the wine was decent and very cheap, so was everything in general

The fact that we had spent 2 days at a "luxury resort" that didn't really care for our comfort, to this ibis styles hotel which offered us a drink of water as soon as we walked in through the front door, made us realise that this hotel understands what hospitality really means

Great view, rooftop pool area is also wonderful. Cons: We had a slight drain smell in the room that came and went. We couldnt dentify where it was coming from (ironically, not from the bathroom drains)

Visiting Malta for the first time, this hotel is in a lovely coastal location, close to shops and restaurants, very easy to get to by local buses. Short stroll to the seafront and bus stops

When we also informed them that he had a super early flight to catch the next morning and wouldn't be able to eat the buffet breakfast, they offered to pack him some food to take with him, and got it ready by 6am in the morning

It was amazing. The best hotel in town and the staff is really friendly. I proposed my girlfriend during our staying and the hotel prepared some gift at our room. I can just only recommend!

the location is okay and the seaview is amazing. But the swimming pool is quite dirty.

The buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice of hot and continental dishes. I had a double room at the back of the hotel away from the bay, quiet but WiFi was a little slow

The room was large with good amenities; fridge, kettle, bathtub, balcony, AC heater etc. The furniture was stylish with plenty of drawers and hanging space

Very nice hotel on a perfect location! A far more quiet village than on Malta island. Friendly staff, beautiful Bayview room with balcony. Clean and comfy beds. Breakfast was awesome with cakes and pastries!

The balcony overlooks the harbor, and yachts for day trips dock right outside the door, which is very convenient, but reservations are required in advance. There are many restaurants nearby

Spent six nights here at the Calypso in November. Great location with some fantastic walks along the shore road. Rooftop terrace with pool and the rooms with a seaview were the reason why I booked. Would stop again.

I'm staying for 6 nights and blown away by the service and hospitality given already. Views are as described just better. You are in the heart of the action here. It's great to go downstairs and be in the hustle

Excellent location, very friendly staff. The single room had no natural light , so is like a cave. It does say on web site, it has no window, but the reality was very claustrophobic

I only stayed the one night , so just used the room to sleep in

Good for solo travelers,  breakfast is good 

The condition of the rooms arent the best as in it doesnt look the cleanest but perhaps it is because the hotel is quite old/outdated, but it definitely does the job when you need a place to rest

The main issue is the thin walls. You can hear everything from next door and the halls so definitely don’t stay here if you’re a light sleeper
