115 the Strand Hotel by Neu Collective in Gzira

I stayed at 115 The Strand Hotel for one night during my visit to Sliema, and it turned out to be fantastic value for money. Even with a short stay, it left a really positive impression thanks to its location, views, and included extras.
My room had a balcony overlooking the harbour, which was a real highlight. Sitting out and taking in the views across the water — especially in the evening — made the stay feel much more premium than the price would suggest. It’s the kind of feature that really elevates a short stay.
Another great benefit is access to Aqualuna Lido, located directly opposite the hotel. This gives you the option to relax by the water or pool, which is a nice bonus if you have more time than just an overnight stay.
Breakfast was included and offered a good selection, making it easy to start the day without needing to go out and find somewhere to eat. It was convenient and added to the overall value of the stay.
The location is also very practical. It’s just a short walk to the ferry terminal where you can catch the Sliema to Valletta Ferry, which is one of the easiest and most scenic ways to get across to Valletta. This makes it a great base for exploring both sides of the harbour.
I would highly recommend 115 The Strand Hotel if you’re looking for affordable accommodation in Malta that still offers great views and useful extras. For the price, it delivers far more than you might expect and is an excellent choice for both short stays and longer visits.

Wow, cannot fault this hotel at all, perfect location, right near the beach with lots of food places. Slept really well as the mattress was absolutely perfect, so so comfortable and the shower, ooof just perfect to wind down after a long day.

The hotel's location is very convenient, the service is excellent, and my stay was very comfortable. The restaurant is on the 9th floor, offering beautiful views of the harbor and Valletta. The ferry terminal is about a 150-meter walk away, with a 1.50 euro transfer to Valletta and a 3-euro round-trip ferry ride, making it a very convenient option for exploring the city. Rates vary depending on the season, so make sure to book early for trips in July and August. The hotel also offers a free beachfront swimming pool, Aqualuna, which can be accessed by picking up a ticket at the front desk. The value for money is excellent and highly recommended.

Stayed: May 16–19

The location of the hotel is excellent — very convenient for getting around, and check-in was smooth. We stayed in Room 609, which was a standard room, but unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. The room felt very small and the decor was dull and depressing. The bathroom was extremely tiny — even for two petite women, it was uncomfortable. Sitting on the toilet, your knees almost touch the sink, and the shower space is so tight you can barely turn around.

The hallway had a musty smell, possibly from water leakage. Overall, the room experience was not pleasant.

The lobby staff were not very helpful. They didn’t tell us about the facilities on the 8th floor — there’s a small sauna, jacuzzi, and a tiny indoor pool. If I had known earlier, I would’ve taken advantage and enjoyed some time there despite the limited size.

That said, the rest of the hotel facilities were much better. The rooftop restaurant was a highlight — the food was delicious and the views were beautiful and uplifting, especially during breakfast. A big bonus was access to the outdoor pool at Aqualuna Malta just across the street. I spent two lovely days there enjoying the ocean view with a bottle of Prosecco — very relaxing.

Overall, I would consider staying here again, but only if I can book a better room. The location and facilities are great — just be aware of the room quality and ask about all the amenities upfron!

Nice hotel with nice room and fair breakfast with a gorgeous view.

The room was not bad but not as shown in the pictures. Staff was helpful and kind. The rooftop is very nice to watch the view and relax. Breakfast was very nice. Streaky bacon was exceptionally good. The location is very nice and reachable to everywhere with ease. Generally enjoyed the stay there!
