My wife will not let me forget that I picked this place to stay while she was skeptical, but ultimately correct.
It is close to the airport, but also close to the highway. I didn’t know until arrival that there are two floors. Our family was in two rooms, which were as far apart as possible. The top floor was very loud from the road traffic, but downstairs was quieter as there is a 1-story building blocking some noise. However, that room had a very off putting smell.
The staircase is poorly lit and dangerous in the dark.
The rooms are basic. Pillows and bed were uncomfortable and outlets hidden behind the mattress.
The outside restaurant was overpriced for reheated food and had a lot of mosquitoes. The breakfast was tasty and friendly, but nothing cooked to order; it is served from a buffet behind a counter.
Only instant coffee is available.
If you have any mobility issues, this place should be avoided. This is the least expensive option in the area, but stay elsewhere if you have the means.
The owners are friendly.

stayed at Hotel Tequila for 13 days, and unfortunately a lot of what was advertised on their website and original pamphlets was not available. There was no swim-up bar, no bartender, no public kitchen, and no washer or dryer—despite these being listed when we booked. Interestingly, the day before we left, I noticed they had printed brand-new pamphlets with a completely different layout that removed many of those amenities.
Cleanliness was also a recurring issue. We were given dirty sheets and blankets with visible stains multiple times, which was unacceptable for any hotel, especially during a long stay.
We also did not have hot water for five days. At first, I assumed it was due to our room’s location, but when I asked staff about it, they seemed genuinely surprised and said it would be taken care of. We were gone all day and returned to still no hot water. When I asked to switch rooms, I was initially told there were no rooms available and questioned about who said I could move. About ten minutes later, the same staff member knocked on our door with keys to a different room—so it clearly could have been handled sooner.
The manager, Laura (I believe), was generally unwelcoming unless money was being spent. The overall atmosphere felt very money-driven. There was also an uncomfortable incident where a staff member handed me two bottles of water without saying anything, so I assumed they were complimentary. Hours later, when I went to buy more water, I noticed I had been charged almost $9 for the earlier bottles without being told at the time, which felt dishonest. i would’ve used a different card or maybe not even have bought the waters if i was informed before hand. this place is also right next to the highway which is a plus for the airport but loud at all times unless it’s past 3am.
Throughout our stay, my friend and I were treated like we were a bother for asking for basic necessities like towels (we shared a room), while other guests seemed to receive much more attentive service. I can’t say for certain why the treatment was different, but as a Black guest, it was hard not to notice the contrast, and it made the experience uncomfortable.
Overall, this hotel did not live up to its advertised amenities or provide consistent, respectful service. I wouldn’t stay here again and would recommend confirming everything in writing before booking.

Loved the place it's a very nice pool and the food is delicious. The rooms are comfortable and the bed was absolutely fabulous. The location is perfect if you go to the airport the next day. Otherwise it's nothing to do near the place.
Be aware of a fake profile /hotel with the same name farther out!!

Location, location, location! Very near the Cancún Airport and Tren Maya stations. The rooms are simple and clean. The beds are so very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. This is the perfect spot for the last night of your trip or the first night when you have traveled a long day and need to get your bearings before you venture off into country.
The staff was delightful.

I am taking the time to write this review as this hotel made an impact on me and on my family. We stayed for two nights this February as we wanted to be close to the airport for our early morning flight.
Food- the food exceeded all expectations. The chef is extremely talented and spent the day preparing homemade food with healthy ingredients. The flavour and fresh quality of the food was unreal. We joined the chef in the kitchen area and watched him cook. The smell throughout was kitchen area had our mouths watering in preparation for supper.
Rooms- the most comfortable bed and bedding I’ve had in a long time. The rooms are not high end fancy, I don’t want to create false expectations. But we loved the charm of the rustic bathroom and overall space. We wore earplugs as the rooms are closer to the highway but the kids did not notice the sounds of the road (too tired from busy days). I slept amazing both nights. Excellent air conditioning and very clean.
Staff- the staff are phenomenal. It seemed they all get along really well (good team environment) and aligned all of the travel we needed to and from the resort. They made recommendations where to spend our days and all were great fits.
Facility- Our children (8 and 9 year old) were treated very well and loved the facility. Small enough for them to get around and feel safe running up to the room. Good pool. Fun hammocks. Well kept grounds. Very clean rooms. Coffee and breakfast upon waking. Supper available until 9:30 pm. cocktails/blended drinks not available while we stayed but beer and tequila available and mix available. Also amazing Paloma was available upon request.
In summary, we plan to stay again in the future.
