Beautiful hotel with an extremely attentive staff. Every staff member went beyond expectations! Bravo to them. The breakfast was outstanding. The pool area was lovely place to cool down and to just relax after a busy sightseeing day. It was our first time to Mérida and we enjoyed exploring the city. It is an easy walk to the main plaza, museums and “restaurant row”- Calle 47. We especially liked the Maya museum/Antropology museum which is north of the main plaza. The WiFi is spotty in the rooms and sometimes nonexistent, but you could get WiFi in the common areas My only complaint/concern is the parking lot next door that they advise you to park. The parking lot is down a short driveway to an “abandoned hotel”. The driveway itself is littered with broken toilets, tires, and other misc trash. The parking lot in front of the “hotel” is equally as bad and homeless people sleep in the rooms. We were freaked out when we first drove in and parked. But the staff put us at ease and we realized abandoned buildings are something Mérida is trying to deal with. We always felt safe. However, I do think Decu hotels could hold some responsibility and help to clean up the parking lot (at least somewhat!). Be part of the solution for Mérida. The cost of the hotel stay was quite pricey- some of this price could be applied towards clean up of your suggested parking.

First, I should say that the interior courtyard is beautiful, as you can see from the website. But that is the end of the positives. We opted for the Maya Suite, but for those like me who think this was a suite, will be sadly dissatisfied. Our suite was a sparsely decorated room, with an uncomfortable, low bed and a single hard chair. Minimal is an understatement. The bathroom was little better, with a shower that eventually dribbled hot water over you. Outside of the room, the pool was consistently covered with leaves, the staff were distant and disinterested, and the breakfast included in the rate was just fruit and toast - everything else was extra. How the hotel is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels Organisation is a mystery. There are many better places to stay in Merida.

I had the loveliest stay at Decu. The hospitality experience was amazing, with an incredibly welcoming and friendly staff. Very tranquil and in a walkable neighborhood.

This is such a beautiful property. The place is pristine, the bed and pillows super comfortable and lets talked about the staff, just wow. Super attentive, accommodative, always with a smile. We are vegan and their menu didn’t have vegan options so we opted for buying some fridge food and make our leaves dinner, they warmed the food for us, no if it buts about it. We had THE best experience

Great hotel with wonderful breakfasts and popsicles. Bit of an odd location, neither central nor near the Paseo de Montejo

Beautiful place in safe convenient central location in downtown Merida. Staff was friendly but a bit disorganized.

Amazing Place with Incredibly Helpful Staff
The place is magnificent, beautiful, well located, and I would give 10 stars to the staff if I could.

This is 1.5 stars room, so be aware that condition is barely satisfactory (bathrooms are outdated with questionable cardboard-like doors). If you are looking for the best budget place, this probably is not it, but it can serve as a sleepover place. On a positive note, they do have air conditioning in their rooms. But do not be fooled by the photos of the swimming pool; it is small, and more of a fountain then swimming pool. It is next to the reception and dining tables, so not very usable unless you are extrovert without a care in the world, having previously drank few shots of tequila and you will take a dip no matter what. Sad fact is that for a little bit more (10-15eur/person) you can find much better rooms with new furniture and nice bathrooms if you look for hotels in 200-300m radius.
If you can't find anything, then this will have to do.

Even if you are on the budget you will be sorry if you choose this place for stay. We booked triple room, 2 bed mattrace was good, solid, firm bit 3rd was old and you could feel every sprung. But that was not a biggest problem. Shower and water pressure is extremely low, you need ages to take shampoo of your hair and skin. Talking about hair we found long hairs in mattrace. And if you go in the middle night in bathroom you can encounter coackroach. There is a pool but we didn't use it.
Parking (120 pessos) has to be payed separately so price went up to 760MX. I would rather give 500MX more for a far better accommodation in this town. When we entered room there was no toilet paper and towels, so we needed to go back to reception. I think room should be checked before they issue keys to a guest.

Hotel Mucuy is a Work-In-Progress. It is an older 2-story building that lacks an elevator, Guests with mobility issues should book a room on the ground floor.
Hotel Mucuy offers a well-maintained pool, which is nice after a day in the hot Yucatan sun.

Moreover, Hotel Mucuy is a clean and, in my experience, safe property with 24-hour receptionist. The property entrace is secured at 12-midnight.

It does offer a small, but good kitchen that offers a hot breakfast.

Daily housekeeping with clean sheets and towels are included. Wi-Fi is decent. It could/should be upgraded.

Hotel Mucuy is in an excellent location. It is located within a 5-15 minute walk (I'm a 71-year old Boomer with arthritic ankles and knees. I check my times with the stopwatch feature on my Casio wristwatch).
Much, if not most, of the "must-see" venues are within a 5-20 minute walk:
El Corredor Gastronomico 47/Meridas Culinary Corridor;
Mercado Lucas de Gavez;
Parque de Santa Lucia;
Parque La Plancha; Merida Zoo, etcetera.

However, Bus Progreso; ADO and (MID) Merida International Airport are a 20-30 minute walk. I recommend hiring InDrive, Uber or Taxi for those longer trips.

All things considered; Hotel Mucuy is an exceptional value for solo-travelers, couples, families, groups, business travelers that are self-contained, extended-stay travelers, and holiday travelers foe events such as La Nocha Blanca.

Hotel Mucuy is a work in progress. This is my second stay at Hotel Mucuy and I see the improvements.
The staff is Professional, polite, yet personable. If you need something, just ask the staff members and if it is possible they will get it for you.
Affordable, Clean, convenient, and daily maid-service. Very good breakfast options, I order the omelette with fresh fruit, fresh orange juice and coffee.
Best of all, Hotel Mucuy is located with in a 15 minute walk to much of Centro. And there are plenty of buses, taxis and Uber nearby.

Small dirty rooms with uncomfortable beds.
Should have been a warning that most hotel were booked during Xmas and new year and they had many rooms.
The pool water had a green color so assumed it was not to be used
The TV did not work and only had an antenna so did not complain!
They did not clean the room for the 3 days we were there or pick up the garbage or ask to exchange towels.
