Reviews
I expected that it being associated with Kavia a large chain , it would be ok, but boy was I wrong!
First off the hotel room was a lot more run down that it shows in the pictures , it needs a lot of maintenance, there was mould in the shower corners as well as in and around the faucet, then the linens were stained , the towels some of them either had stains or had rips , they never even left a had towel for us , and in some days they didn’t even change the towels
But that was not the worse , during more than half of my stay there was no hot water when I needed to shower. Now I was there for work and had to be out by a certain time , and everytime this happened I called reception , and either they didn’t answer or they just said it would be fixed shortly and an hour later I still couldn’t take a shower and I was late for work , thanks to this
The only way the staff would actually do something about it ( and even then it would take them 20 mins plus) would be if we physically went down to the reception and refused to leave them until they fixed it, this didn happen only once , it happened 4 times
And on top of it the attitude from the staff was horrible , instead of helpful …
Oh yeah and on the last day there was a dead cockroach outside of our room that no one ever swept up
Save your money and don’t stay here !
Review.
First of all, my compliments to the photographer. The hotel IS NOT like it shows on pictures anymore.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT !!!!
This hotel clearly needs maintenance badly, the first room they put us in on the top floor had a strong humidity odor, mildew growth on the ceiling, and warped floors. Definitely nothing like the pictures we saw on *******.
Shame on ******* as well, for not checking what they are selling !
I will not even mention their silly excuse at the front desk about our complaint of the room condition…However, they moved us to another room, and let’s say it was “a little better”, if you don't mind waiting 3 days for them to replace the shower head, while you have to shower with the water coming out of the broken side of the shower head (actually, the videos that we have of the shower are kinda funny)
Anyway, my advice to everyone that reads this review is NOT TO STAY IN THIS HOTEL.
On top of everything, the night before our check out, some of our things were missing…
I do have to say, however, the people in the hotel were nice. My guess is, there is a serious management problem.
There are MANY little hotels nearby, cheaper and way better. The only reason we didn’t move out was because our daughter had an operation in Merida, which was the only reason for our visit.
Kindly
The guest you will never see again.
Staff are lovely though! Good central location. Not all hotels even have a pool at this price.
more often
There were issues opening the door with the keycard.
We had the worst room facing calle 58, disco across the street with music till 3am.
On the other hand the staff were friendly and accommodating but unfortunately we will never stay there again or recommend it anyone!
The location is good. However the hotel is really old and outdated, no coffee or water to drink inside the room.
I will definitely not coming back.

If you can't find anything, then this will have to do.
Parking (120 pessos) has to be payed separately so price went up to 760MX. I would rather give 500MX more for a far better accommodation in this town. When we entered room there was no toilet paper and towels, so we needed to go back to reception. I think room should be checked before they issue keys to a guest.
Hotel Mucuy offers a well-maintained pool, which is nice after a day in the hot Yucatan sun.
Moreover, Hotel Mucuy is a clean and, in my experience, safe property with 24-hour receptionist. The property entrace is secured at 12-midnight.
It does offer a small, but good kitchen that offers a hot breakfast.
Daily housekeeping with clean sheets and towels are included. Wi-Fi is decent. It could/should be upgraded.
Hotel Mucuy is in an excellent location. It is located within a 5-15 minute walk (I'm a 71-year old Boomer with arthritic ankles and knees. I check my times with the stopwatch feature on my Casio wristwatch).
Much, if not most, of the "must-see" venues are within a 5-20 minute walk:
El Corredor Gastronomico 47/Meridas Culinary Corridor;
Mercado Lucas de Gavez;
Parque de Santa Lucia;
Parque La Plancha; Merida Zoo, etcetera.
However, Bus Progreso; ADO and (MID) Merida International Airport are a 20-30 minute walk. I recommend hiring InDrive, Uber or Taxi for those longer trips.
All things considered; Hotel Mucuy is an exceptional value for solo-travelers, couples, families, groups, business travelers that are self-contained, extended-stay travelers, and holiday travelers foe events such as La Nocha Blanca.
The staff is Professional, polite, yet personable. If you need something, just ask the staff members and if it is possible they will get it for you.
Affordable, Clean, convenient, and daily maid-service. Very good breakfast options, I order the omelette with fresh fruit, fresh orange juice and coffee.
Best of all, Hotel Mucuy is located with in a 15 minute walk to much of Centro. And there are plenty of buses, taxis and Uber nearby.
Should have been a warning that most hotel were booked during Xmas and new year and they had many rooms.
The pool water had a green color so assumed it was not to be used
The TV did not work and only had an antenna so did not complain!
They did not clean the room for the 3 days we were there or pick up the garbage or ask to exchange towels.
AVOID THIS HOTEL UNLESS YOU ARE IN DESPERATE NEED
