Great place, very good value.
The Junior Suite is up on its own floor, so very private. Fantastic views from the roof with various places to sit/chill. Best of all is the amazing staff. Everyone who we dealt with is warm, helpful, friendly and genuine. Made us feel very welcome. It can be tricky to find after wandering around the Medina, but that's half the fun!

We went for lunch on tge patio. Food was not good, cold meat was undercooked. When we said that the food was not ok, we wete treated very rudely, told food was fine and that it was cold as the kitchen was upstairs. And we just had to pay, even when we did mot eat it as we wete afraid to get sick from the still raw kebab. Second photo shows what was called a small salad.

Good location, beautiful building. terrible food, no shower only bathtub, no WiFi. There is a lot of noise at night. Not a good rest. This is not luxury is just expensive.

Fantastic 5-star experience. Large, well-appointed, very comfortable rooms. Great beds and pillows. Beautiful public spaces, fantastic breakfast, nice bar and food options with exceptional views. Staff all provided exceptional service, except for the gentleman that sits outside of the restaurant and bar entrance, who was indifferent at past over both nights of our stay. Location is not an easy walk to town if that is important to you, but its location at far side of town is very relaxing and a respite.

When researching where to stay in Fes, we were consistently told that the two best hotels were Palais Faraj Fes and Riad Fes. We chose Palais Faraj and stayed two nights, Friday February 6 and Saturday February 7, 2026. The hotel itself is in good condition. The infrastructure is solid and the property is well maintained. Unfortunately, our experience in Fes was significantly undermined by the tour guide recommended by the hotel, Fuad. From the start, the tour felt orchestrated around shops of his choosing. He repeatedly refused to stop at stores we specifically asked to visit in the medina, claiming that doing so would cause mosques to close or that we did not have time. We trusted his explanations, only to later realize that he exclusively took us to shops under pretexts such as “a women’s cooperative” or “the oldest leather tannery in the world,” which were clearly places where he appeared to receive commissions. When we asked again about visiting other stores, he abruptly stated that our time was up. Beyond this, his behavior crossed professional boundaries. He repeatedly called me “Muhammed,” saying I looked Moroccan, and made frequent comments to my wife about her appearance every time he took a photo. This was uncomfortable and inappropriate. The most serious issue occurred upon returning to the hotel. Despite us explaining in advance that we intended to pay the guide fee through the hotel by credit card, as we did not carry much cash, he aggressively demanded cash payment. He physically blocked the car outside the hotel and refused to accept any other option. When I suggested we go inside to clarify the hotel’s policy, he followed us in, raised his voice, and began arguing with the receptionist in Arabic. The front desk staff appeared intimidated and, rather than intervening or clarifying policy, told us it was better to pay him immediately. We felt pressured and uncomfortable and paid simply to end the situation. This entire interaction was extremely unpleasant. What made it worse was the lack of support from the hotel staff. Instead of protecting guests from an aggressive third party they had recommended, the staff deferred to him. We asked to speak with a manager, but none was available Saturday evening, and on Sunday there was no follow-up or call to address our complaint. Given that Palais Faraj is one of the most expensive hotels in Fes, we expected a far higher standard of service, guest protection, and accountability for vendors they recommend. Unfortunately, this experience became the dark spot of an otherwise beautiful trip to Morocco. By contrast, we had excellent experiences at Royal Mansour in Marrakech, Four Seasons in Casablanca, and Azalai Desert Camp in the Sahara, which made the shortcomings here even more noticeable.

My husband and I had the most amazing time at the hammam spa in Palais Faraj Hotel in Fes. We honestly cannot remember the last time we felt so relaxed and pampered. The exfoliation and massage were both incredible, and the warm, beautifully designed atmosphere made the whole experience feel very special and authentic. We are especially grateful to our driver, Mehdi Ezniti, for recommending this hammam to us, as it became one of the true highlights of our trip.

Wow! Incredibly accommodating riad in the medina in Fes. First, the staff here are beyond amazing and helpful. They are accommodating with requests, friendly, and make you feel at home. The location of this riad can be a bit tricky to find the first time (especially at 1am) but once you find it, you’re set. We used online maps to navigate to and from our riad around the Medina and had no problem at all finding things. The rooms at this riad are spectacular, if you are in the right room. We had the unique opportunity to stay in two different rooms due to a change in our itinerary (we knew we would be in two different rooms). The first room was the standard room, and it was nothing special. In fact for a 5-star hotel, it was a bit of a let down. The room was small, had a double bed, the bathroom was fine. We struggled to get hot water when we arrived at 1am but that could be because it was 1am. We also couldn’t get the heat to work in the room and it was a bit cool. We spent one night in that room. We switched rooms to a suite (our original accommodation that we had booked) and WOW! This was a 5-star room. Spacious, queen bed, heat, and a beautiful bathroom (note you need to take stairs down to the bathroom but it is private and we knew this in advance). The hot water was still a bit sketchy sometimes but we think that is because hot water is limited during peak times. We did not use any of the amenities at the hotel like the pool or hammam but I’m sure they are great. The area to have breakfast and dinner is absolutely stunning and makes for a sweet little community environment. Overall, we would highly recommend this riad for your stay in Fes if you are looking for something a bit more upscale, chic, and friendly.

A heartfelt thank you to Mediha at the reception of Palais Faraj. She was incredibly kind, gentle, and truly professional from the moment we arrived. Her warm welcome and caring attitude made us feel so comfortable and appreciated. Our stay at the hotel was wonderful — the room was beautiful, spotless, and very cozy, and the service was always attentive and thoughtful. Every request was handled with so much care. Thank you, Mediha, and the entire team at Palais Faraj, for your kindness and for making our stay unforgettable

We very much enjoyed our stay here in this lovely hotel and grounds, situated on the south edge of the Medina. Special mentions to Mehania(?) on reception, and the porterage team, all very friendly and efficient. Also to all the staff in the restaurant on the top floor for service. The breakfast is spectacular. And my partner was delighted to spot 2 wild tortoises on the terrace!
