Dar Victoria in Fes

Dar Victoria, the urban oasis, has become my happy place. Or happy palace in this case. We were welcomed by Hassan who was wonderfully friendly towards us, while clearly explaining all the in and outs, mapping out how we can make best of our time in Fes. We felt so special, until we saw him extend this unprecedented hospitality to another couple also. Turns out everyone is equal. On the second day we also had the great pleasure of meeting Anass. A true Moroccan originating from the southern desert. His kindness and wit has heightened the already magical vibe on our journey trough these warm lands. Lastly I cannot emphasise the incredible interior this ryiad offers. A grand courtyard with the most intricate shapes and designs. I wish I could stay here for one thousand and one Arabian nights!

All staff are very kind and professional. The hotel is super clean and the rooms are comfortable with an authentic Moroccan style. I also recommend trying their tasty food.

Blown away by how amazing our stay was at Dar Victoria. The owner Mohammed was the best host we encountered in our two weeks in Morocco. He made us feel so comfortable and we even shared a meal of sardines one night which is my favorite food! The hotel is comfortable, clean, cozy, and perfect. The rooms are cute and brightly lit with desks and sitting areas and a very nice modern bathroom. The rooftop was gorgeous with views all around and comfortable couches. The location was also very excellent just a few minute walk to the blue gate and medina. The riad has been very well taken care of over the years and you can tell the heart and soul in this place. We stayed longer than expected because Dar Victoria is that nice. Thank you Mohammed and Ibriham for your hospitality!!!

The Dark Victoria Riad is an totally amazing place to stay in historic Fes. It is located in a narrow side street close to the entrances to the mind-blowing Medina. It is a good thing that it isn't actually in the maze of the Medina as this makes it much easier to come and go with luggage, get taxis etc. Once you enter through the unassuming entrance you are in a central space with the real wow factor. It is so beautiful that you have to pinch yourself you are actually staying there for a reasonable price (***********). Our room on the top floor was, I suspect, the best in the Riad. It ran the length of the building and had it's own private balcony looking down into the central area where breakfast and other meals are served. The room was huge, with a vast bathroom, a dressing area, a separate toilet, a lounge area and the private balcony. It was comfortable and clean with loads of storage space. One small drawback, which I suspect is common to many riads, is that noise echoes up from the lobby area so late night comings and goings and people eating, can disturb you. However, there was no noise after midnight so we got good night's sleep. Breakfast is good and the evening meal we had one night was equally good and worth having if you don't want to venture out one night. The staff were all very helpful and spoke good English (among many other languages). They organised taxis for us and carried our bags up the steep stairs. One of the best features for us, though, was the resident cat, who had just had a litter of kittens (note to fellow guests - she likes cheese!) I heartily recommend the Dar Victoria as a great base to explore wonderful Fes.

An exceptional riad with amazing interior design and very polite staff (including a cute cat).

Dar Victoria is a beautiful home in Fes that was transformed into a wonderful guesthouse just steps away from the old Medina. While the rooms were comfortable, the outstanding feature is the attentive service that the staff provides each guest. The daily breakfast provided was a delicious selection of Moroccan flavors, a wonderful way to start every day.

Arnez, Hassan and Ali have the most wonderful, polite and warm personalities. The staff were accommodating and friendly! Highly recommend a visit!

Dar Victoria is quite easy to navigate to. It is quiet and cool. The room had air-conditioning. The welcome was warm and it was a pleasure to stay here.

Stunning old building on the edge of the medina so perfect access to everything. Omar and the staff were amazing, the staff are full of care for you and Omar tells a great joke!! Highly recommended to all travellers wanting to be outside of the medina but not too far away

Felt like a secret, tucked away spot. Great family lodging in a busy city. Staff were lovely, breakfasts were great, sleeping was quiet. Loved the Riad set up with open courtyard and fountain. Very calming and pretty. We would happily stay there again.
