I went to Riad Sanaa Rose based on past reviews. It was a great deception. It was not very clean and there was a funny odour. I assume that there has been a change of ownership. The interior courtyard was pretty small. It was not a riad but a traditional moroccan home. The owner is not in Fez so if there are problems you will be left to yourself as the cleanlady speaks very little English. Lo0cation is good, but that is the only positive with this riad.

Booked a stay with this Riad in August and tried to check in at 6pm. It was difficult to find but that's expected. It took someone about 10 mins and multiple knocks on the door to come out. The lady only spoke french and looked very surprised. She didn't know of my reservation, tried contacting the owner who also didn't know of the reservation. The Riad doesn't have AC so the interior was about 90F and the lady just left us there while our credit card confirmed the reservation and asked us to try again. This lady then brought us tea and our credit card company apparently got through to the owner who was offsite. 50 minutes later drenched in sweat we said au revoir and the lady came rushing down the stairs to try and beg us to stay while things were figured out. At this point we already had another riad nearby booked (Riad Myra, fantastic w/ AC). The lady physically grabbed my arm to ask me to stay which i shrugged off and then BLOCKED/grabbed MY GIRLFRIEND and WOULDN'T LET HER LEAVE. My girlfriend was pretty cool about it and after more than a minute of asking her to get out of the way just went on all 4s under this lady. We were pretty thankful to be leaving and the situation ended well as our credit card credited our stay at Myra which was almost hard to compare to sanaa rose. The unfortunate thing is that the owner lied and said they served me dinner so I couldn't get a refund. It was $45 which is no big deal, I'm sure karma will hit the owners soon. All the reviews are from months ago so maybe something recently changed but this was by far the worst experience I've had at a hotel and would recommend looking anywhere else in fes. (With AC if its the summer).

The best welcome in Morocco. Tea offered on arrival and availability of the managers, Zoubida and Selma who took great care of us. Their kindness and little touches enhanced our stay, the place is very well located and the terrace is particularly enjoyable

Beautiful quaint Medina Riad. Jamila our host (not the owner) was incredibly friendly and helpful. Was lovely to come back after a busy day wandering the Medina to a chat - allbeit in my dodgy french. Rooms are beautiful and a great size. And the shower is brill!

A lovely place in the heart of the medina. Delicious traditional moroccan food! Kind people and good service. A little expensive (200-300 dirham for a menu: contains salads, tajine and fruit), but you get a lot of food so we shared 1 menu with 3 people.

AVOID! We arrived late at night and the owner was polite enough to prepare us a meal. We ordered a bottle of water, 1 mint tea and a small vegetable tagine - which was literally the smallest tagine we got served in the whole Marocco. We were charged 150 Dirhams (it was not a menu)!! Total scam. We tried to lower the price but the owner got angry with us so we paid and left quickly. You can find very good full menus for 70Dirh in any restaurant near the blue Gate. Avoid, it's not worth it!

This is one of the best authentic restaurants we have been in Morocco! Food is delicious and super fresh, great value for money and super friendly stuff. They have a lovely terrace and during lunch it usually quite quite here so you can have a relaxing experience. Our local friends recommended this place and we advise everyone to try!

Don't go there!!
Small and good located restaurant which gave us a really bad experience on our trip through this lovely country.
The staff is friendly but the portions are very small and the taste is nothing special.
Every menu is 150DH, which is a lot for this kind of restaurants in Marokko but the food wasn't worth it at all. It seemed to us as if the meals were not freshly prepared but heated up.
I wouldn't recommend this place.

It's not a restaurant

First of all, this is not a restaurant as it is listed here. Second, the owner and his brother are money hungry people.
I had one of the worst experiences with these people. I had a deal to rent 2nd floor room with owners brother after hardly finding this place. He offered us ground floor room where his brother's wife and infant daughter were already accommodated for less price. Even though he told us that he will relocate them, we didn't feel good with this scenario and made a deal for second floor room in the afternoon. Afterwards, I told him that I'll leave to bring my luggage from other hotel. On arriving in the evening with 3 big bags, 2 small bags, 4 yo old son and wife, the owner took us through the steep ascend to the place just to inform us that the second floor room was booked by someone else and they have prepared some other room for us. This was extremely disappointing and ridiculous to me, specifically because I dragged my entire family through heat and burden of luggage to find out that the owner made a fool out of me.
On my way back, I saw the owners brother who tried to apologize for the inconvenience while escorting the other group to the hotel. This all happened to me because of stupid greed of these two brothers.
